The veyron is more of a premium/standard then just a standard, it really doesnt look as bad as your making out.

PD didnt simply copy and paste GT4 cars into GT5, just take a look at the comparisons from GT4 cars to the GT5 standards, theres quite a bit of difference.

I seriously think that people are taking PD's standards for granted, they really arent that bad, all it is they look bad when compared to the premiums and well i guess thats PD's fault for making the premiums so damn good and detailed. Compare the GT5 standards to other rival games and they look as good as them if not better.

I will be a happy, Standard driving fool. I love that there are exceptionally beautiful, Premium vehicles in this game, but there are some cars I just want to feel. I think that the Standards will be a pleasure to all who are huge sim racing fans and a let down to those whose focus incorporates a sizable amount of the eye candy aspect. An aspect that has always been a part of GT, so I don't mean any disrespect to anyone.

Sorry but some clearly don't understand how online works.

If the lucky gamers have got an early copy of GT5 and they tried to race online in a private room then chances are they could do this. The reason is because you wouldn't need the PD servers to be online because setting up a private room means the hosts console acts as a server and they will connect to each other via P2P.

Anyone who plays FM3 will back me up on this. When the FM3 servers are down and you cannot play in the online hoppers you can still create a private room and race against your friends.

It does not work like this.

What you are talking about is a LAN (Local Area Network)

P2P still needs a server to connect the players.

your right on the last part. it makes the car simulation MUCH better having an interior view and realistic view of the action rather than stuck to the front bumper or on the roof, which SURELY makes sense? I love games such as GTR and GT Legends, along with the realistic sounds and handling, it immerses the driver into the simulation and makes you feel that one step closer to being in the actual car.

sorry if i sound like im whinging, im not, but for people to argue that a standard car, updated from gt4, is really what you'd expect on a PS3..... 👎

id have prefered 350 premium models than 52 skylines, 20+ mx5's, etc

There is no preview copy. Thats dangerous talk, highly likely to make you disappointed when the game comes out.

it's not true, there are preview copy, i played the preview copy of wrc 2010, full of bugs and without many stuffs.

i understand why being as the native country is france however it may be best to observe the amount of sales and where its most popular. you never know, it may be most popular in right hand drive? what i lol'd at most is that the 307 cc is premium, bugatti veyron standard. then of course i realised loads must want to drive a pug rather than a veyron.........surely?

Yeah, for sure. They'are both cars nothing more, nothing less. So why not prefer driving a peugeot over a bugatti?

What are you talking about Some people import cars from foreign countries so they have to drive the car on the wrong side. For instance my father has an imported camper van thats left hand drive and we drive on the left side of the road.

PEUGEOT IS F.R.E.N.C.H! It's a matter of respect that we should have the national way of driving OUR national cars. I didn't see the other european cars got the same treatment (Gallardo, BMW, etc... they ALL drive on their NATIONAL system)

By preview copy I meant the "mystical, magical" ones that RDK and tekken90 supposedly have. (which is really just the full version)

II IVORBIGUN II do you honestly think they are going to use P2P where someone will be decided to be a host? I don't know many people with the bandwidth to support such a thing with the average over here having 2-4mb 400KB/s, imo the lobbies will be server clustered based, I hope they are not p2p based as I don't want to be playing where the host drops and the game just reset's back to lobby are a pause for a host switch... This is why imo it will be Server based to avoid such thing's.

Steve, that is internal testing, ofcourse they have had internal testing and friends and family stage but an actual proper beta test where members of the public are selected to participate there has been none which was what I was referring to.

calm down, its simply due to the fact that PD may only have had access to RHD model, or that it was more convenient. they are not going to go behind schedule to accurately model the LHD version rather than the right. and 99.9% of people would be pissed if that happened

I think we should look if the 307 is sold in japan, is so theres your answer to why its rhd. True it being french you would think the model shown would be a lefty.

As for the continuing discussion about the veyron being standard and the likes of the car like the 307 being premium just shows what GT is all about I say, its not about the flashy cars or the hypercars, its about taking a Cr10'000 91' Honda Prelude and dedicating time and love on it to turn it into an amazing car.

Any game could stick a shiney veyron on the game, but not all can turn the most humble ordinary cars into stars.

p.s. I would like the veyron to be premium just like all the other 1000+ cars but its not... its something we have to live with, even if we dont like it... like ginger kids

It is a car that is sold internationally, there is nothing insulting about it. If it makes you feel better the new Fiat 500 is RHD in the game also.

if they show it like that, maybe they have good reasons... NFS Shift 2 seems to remove a lot of bads from the first one: better Physics and damages, Night driving, official Liveries, more cars...

I'd hate to nitpick, but am I the only one who kind of wishes they kept the "normal" helmets for drivers in rally cars? I know it's more realistic like this but it's kinda weird seeing the drivers face..

And don't get me wrong it's not an issue or anything just an observation. Also, damage looks good (needs scratches and it will be great)
