Ugh that Veyron looks really ugly, would be really better when they implemented only 200 premiums in the game... They would be enough for the start...

Because this fits not to PD standards to copy&paste that ugly standards in an new game...

I mean I said I´m ok with the standards but this is for "unimportant" cars like the micra an so son... But an veyron in standard looks really bad :/

The veyron is more of a premium/standard then just a standard, it really doesnt look as bad as your making out.

PD didnt simply copy and paste GT4 cars into GT5, just take a look at the comparisons from GT4 cars to the GT5 standards, theres quite a bit of difference.

I seriously think that people are taking PD's standards for granted, they really arent that bad, all it is they look bad when compared to the premiums and well i guess thats PD's fault for making the premiums so damn good and detailed. Compare the GT5 standards to other rival games and they look as good as them if not better.

I don't think there's any way to find out for sure. But I think the fact that PD wouldn't goto the trouble of making different copies of the game reason enough.

Yes, why make a build with reduced damage and no museum feature? Seems useless.

Virtually all games release a preview copy (beta copy), so its nbthing new, people such as RDK who got the game weeks ahead of its release might very well have the preview copy.

If you think the veyron looks bad as standard, it seems you haven´t seen some other standards in the released pics before because the veyron is still a massive improvement over all other standards we have seen so far.

well standard is such a lame word when theres premium

i was told long time ago that on avg. it takes 1 person 1 month to make a PREMIUM car.

if half the people at polyphony can actually model a car alone, its still almost 2000 days for them to change all the cars to premium... oO thats basicly 11 years of total development time. cu in 2016?

i think we should just be happy with the fact that they bothered to make SOME of the cars premium

I'm sure PD weren't screwing around with a beta copy on a game that has been delayed as much as this one. Besides, take a look at you5825's you tube channel, he's got a video showing us where the game probably came from.

I was told about half a year, can't remember right but it was about that long.

Sadly, I agree with you. I'm buying the game strictly for the premiums. I'm going to stay away from 99% of the standard models. I sure hope they add more premiums via DLC.

When did i make a rant about standard cars? I couldnt really careless, it would obviously have been better if all cars were to be premium, but theyre not and life goes on.

Can we please take the standard vs premium talk to that specific thread? Certainly not the right topic of conversation for this thread.

Why wouldnt PD screw around with a beta copy? 5 years of supposed development, i dont know about you but if i was working in PD, i'd want to make sure that the game doesnt have some nasty bugs. Yeah i seen that youtube channel. Like i said earlier im pretty happy with what ive seen, if it is the full retail copy that we have seen then im suspecting there will be alot of gamers throwing hissy fits on release day. Tissue paper production will be at a all time high.

There were always going to be hissy fits, some people Just won't be happy with what they're given.

2 conspiracy theories. yeah, I can't stop! :)

the first:
what if this "November the 2nd" delay was due to the decision to "downgrade" GT5 (make simplier damage, cut some tracks and etc). Remember Kazunori (in one of interviews with him) said that there was not enough power to create the game he had planned.. hmmm? hmmm?
and this "this feature is not available in this version" is something PD overlooked during "downgrading" THE game.

the 2nd theory: the delay was needed to plan, to organize this nice marketing campaign with leaked fake "full" games and stuff.

My (very optimistic) hypothesis is similar:

Perhaps PD printed a few copies of GT5 (for Nov 03) yet but than they realized that they sent a wrong code (an earlier one) out to the printing factories. (EPIC FAIL !!)

They canceled everything and assigned new printing jobs - this time with the correct code. This would explain the recent delay. The copies that tekken90 and RDK own could be the old ones that - how ever - slipped away towards the public.

What do you think?

Now I'm really excited what kind of copy we'll get next week (...and a bit afraid, too)...

and when you open your copy and realise its the exact same as theirs you break down crying? i dont want to get my hopes up tbh

PEOPLE!!!

What is released next week will be the same as what tekken90 and RDK have. Wake up. Anything not accessible in their copies must be something associated with online functionality (which will not go live until the launch day).

Me too! (As I said: an optimistic hypotesis.)

If it's true, there should be not much copies of this wrong and early version left at the public - at least a few.

WELL, WE'LL SEE SOON!! ;-) (At least this!) :)

Wow. This just keeps getting better and better. We might have better luck identifying who really assassinated JFK before we figure out what PD did.

But serverfull's story sounds legit. I can see in the final hours before PD's deadline there being a chaotic scene where everyone was scambling to finish code and get everything buttoned up. Then someone sent the wrong code to the manufacturer. It makes more sense then "PD missed their deadline by three days". This may very well be the code that was sent out to all those events, Tokyo Game Show, Gamescon, the individual events in the UK and NY and maybe even the Best Buy demo. I don't expect a dramatic difference between codes but I believe the final version will be slightly different. I remember reading an interview in an auto mag with Kaz where the interviewer was playing GT5 on the Top Gear TT (actually, I think it was the Top Gear magazine article) and his description of the damage model was certainly different from what we have seen so far. Well, we'll all know in one week anyway.

Top Gear Magazine article:

This is was i exactly thougt when i see the first damage on this vid´s flying around at the time. That they reviewed it in TOP GEAR and said something about the damage which sounds great. And it sounds greater to me than the damage we´ve seen so far.

I think so, too.

It won't be the "Messiah" of racing games, but nevertheless a great one.

And what if you don't connect to the internet? You get a completely counter-intuitive message?

Unless..... since he has connected it to the internet then that message is correct, and if he is offline then he will get a "internet connection required" error.

I don't think so. In the vid it clearly read: "This feature is not available in your version". This has nothing to do with online. If this were the problem then it would read: "This feature is not available offline"

I don't think there's reason to create crazy speculations.
The game is just 7 days away and then we can all find out ourselves how it is.

this is in the past. as kaz said, things have had to be put back to gt6, the ps3 has limited him, etc etc. this could mean they have had to bring back features because of XYZ reasons.

not neccessarily. who says it is or is not the preview or final copy? no one knows, not one person can answer it correctly. the ONLY way of finding out is come release day when we will all forget the nonsense of conspiracy theories and concentrate playing a game we have waited years for and come on here to discuss :)

Conspiracy Theory 5 version a.145

PD were coming up to deadline of November 2nd, and although they were behind schedule by three days, they sent the latest build to be pressed in small quantities. They could then use these as 'preview' or 'beta' disks, as Beta testing and review copies are quite time critical.

Three days later they produce the complete Gold Master, and that is what we will be buying on the 24th.

I don't expect much additional content in final version.

/ Conspiracy.

The only fact to back this up is from Kaz himself stating they missed production by three days.
