ohhh, ok awesome!!!!!!!!! So then copy all the pictures directly to the USB I suppose...

Ive only seen the option to upload it to the PS3 XBM...

In GT4 you could copy direct to USB drive, in GT5 you may have to export to XMB and copy from there, either way it will still be possible :)

I did export to XBM but I didn't know where it went, I looked in the pictures section but didn't see it, but ill take a look in the "November" folder and see if they are there...no worries ill fiddle with it when i get home and post pics

It's been said by people all over the industry that the console changeover was moving too fast and everyone wants it to slow down. Sony, MS, the developers... no one wants to move on at the rate they were doing before. The whole point of the Kinect launch is to see how much longer they can drag the 360 out, if it takes off in a big way, the console's lifespan will increase. Sony is going the same thing with the Move and all it's XMB updates. I know the 10-year life cycle means support and not necessarily as the lead console, but nevertheless we're going to see bigger gaps this time because otherwise MS and Sony end up investing hundreds of millions and the developers never really get the chance to master the console before they're given a new one and all their training starts over with a bunch of sub-par games.

You have a point but :
The 360 has already been around for a longer time than the xbox, we haven't seen ANY form of graphical advancement in like a year now.
All that's being released lately (and soon) is more sequels and reboots , that sometimes look slightly better than last year's incarnation at the cost the framerates and resolution.
I doubt the industry has ever been more stagnant than it is today...

If by mastering the hardware you mean trying to optimise the level design to get around the weak hardware and ram limit, then sure...
Multi core support and dx9 shaders (lol) have been mastered a long time ago, and on pc developers have been moving on for a while now.
Pc devs and companies like amd and nvidia are (and have been) working on better , more efficient dx10 and dx11 shaders, higher quality and most importantly much more efficient texture compression , new normal mapping techniques, tesselation etc etc.

There is a cutoff point at which spending resources on trying to improve old technology becomes pointless as better and more efficient technology becomes available.
Imo we reached that cutoff point atleast a year ago.

With your logic we should stick to petrol powered combustion engines for another 50 years because there is still some extra efficiency to squeeze outa them.
Meanwhile conveniently ignoring the fact that all these efficiency tricks like lighter materials, power recovery to the battery on braking (which BMW likes to boast about) and tyres with less roll resistance have absolutely **** all to do with combustion engines themselves).
The same applies to many of the supposed 'mastering' of the consoles. (MLAA,ridiculous amounts of optimisation etc).

Any actual programmer and artist probably can't wait to move on to better technology so they can finally have more room for creativity.
It's only the beancounters, stockholders and anyone that is in the business for the money instead of the love for the art that would like for the industry to stop evolving and for everyone to still be using a ps3 in 2020...

It's sad how people get more and more brainwashed and told what to think and want by marketing companies.

Wow can't wait, what cars did you take photos off.

Some from my GTPSP collection so

Mazda Furai, 88 Countach, and about 30 more standards...I have 2 million left on my psp so Ill pick up more interesting ones and post pics of them

I know there are a couple days left before it comes out,
but posting pics might relive some peoples fears about standard cars

Kaz said a few days ago that the PS3 is limited and he cant get his vision across on there...but Still, such a nice game

Yeah, and kaz is part of the rare breed of people who are in charge while being in it for the art and love.
That's why gt5 took much (much much) longer than cod45784756141 and why it's going to be a quality game.

My biggest problem with current gen consoles is that they just aren't capable of what they were intended to do.
To render modern console games at 1080 p at 60fps with vsync, high res shadows that are drawn from an acceptable distance, high texture draw and lod distance AKA AF -just compare mafia with 16xAF on pc vs the console version- , not even to mention proper texture quality instead of stretching out low res textures (which looks really bad), it takes several times more memory , fill rate and gpu power than ps3/xbox have.

Which is mostly why people always yell 'waa pc games so much better hardware and console games still look similar'.

I would frigging LOVE to be able to play the next GT game with graphics like in photomode and in engine rendered cgi trailers.
They clearly showed that that's what PD envisioned (they created all the assets and textures etc for their intro/trailers).
And it really isn't that far from what they put into the gameplay, as long as they actually have the power to crank up all the settings in their awesome engine. (but again, that takes several times more gpu power than the ps3 has.)

The next gt that comes out on the next console is going to be something special.
Are we near the point of getting photorealistic game worlds? HELL NO.
Are we near the point where we can create a near photorealistic scene from a distance in a controlled and limited environment (like a race or a bar fight scene)? Sure ! We get some amazing lighting, motion blur has come a LONG way in the last 5 years, soft shadows, ssoa , reflection shaders etc are all done well enough to look believable.
It's just a matter of putting some decent hardware behind an engine now to get believable graphics.
