Strange that you unlock realistic damage.Couldn't they have just had as On/Off.Hope that doesn't happen online though.

I heard that at lv30+ you unlock awesome graphics, all cars become premium, and there are all tracks from past GT games.. I wonder did anyone got to lv40 so that we see whats there :)

Dude, stop complaining

The sounds are drastically improved! Stop with those stupid real Life comparisions.

Would it be intelligent to compare trees from Gt 5 with real Life trees?

LMFAO:sly:

But how can you say that the sounds are improved if they dont sound like they should?:S

Dude, be realistic. In Forza3 if you mod an M5. You get a louder and noisier version of the stock sound. Damn it.

Maybe online you can just play against other players with the same level

But I doubt that.

Seriously doubt that.I really don't mind the damage at all I don't crash every race so even if GT5 had Grid's level of damage it won't add much really. All I care a bout is online :drool:

@Union strike is that the Demo Drive(won't watch it if it is too much spoilers)

different pics say different things, and at the end of the day they show damage during the official GT5 commercial... So it must be in the game some where

Maybe there are like 30 ultra premium cars which are the only cars that can show damage, Kaz forgot to promote those;)

What? what he said makes perfect sense. Damage is not scaled to reality, eg hitting a wall at 200 km doesn't turn your car intoa crumpled up mess like it would in reality.

Dude seriously how old are you? This is a video game!!! Every game system has limits and I think the GT5 team did a great job with what they were able to work with... If all you want is damage then go buy burn out... If you want the total package then you don't have no choice but to get GT5 so just appreciate all the things this game exceeds on instead of the things they don't:)

6 Years is a very decent time frame. A one year head start goes a long way, that is the reason MS pushed the 360 into the market as soon as it could. Moreover, MS and SONY compete on equal grounds, target the same market (more conventional gamers are still their core target), that means that they have to compete on the quality of the established variables (creating the awe effect through improvement in the existing formula). If the next XBox comes out in fall '12, 360 will go down to $129-49 range and unlike the original Xbox the 360 is a very capable platform with a perfectly competitive library. That would mean SONY would have to compete at that price level with the PS3 and introduce the next gen console within a year so that the competition does not have a significant head start in sales.

The current gen is already showing its age (compared to PC) and I am sure that when the next generation of GPUs hit the market (especially the next architecture on 28nm). The graphics game is going to move into the next generation very quickly.

As far as "getting to know the new hardware goes", 30% utilization of next gen hardware looks better that 100% of current gen. Making stuff look better is just so much easier.

So I would expect a new Xbox by fall 2012 and PS4 fall 2013 and GT6 as a launch title - or releasing 1 year within the launch bracket. (With a decent expansion pack - or smaller packs - of premium cars and maybe some tracks before 2013).

In general terms, I agree with everything you're saying. That's how it's always worked, but the point remains that people high up in the industry are looking for a change.

6 years would make it the exact same time difference as the PS2-PS3 period, which totally contradicts everything they've spoken about. Both MS and Sony execs agree on the subject, things need to slow down. There's always competition going on, which is what forces them to come out with new products in the first place, but when both companies agree it's not the way to go, but it's more than possible for them both to hold out. This is why both companies are constantly updating their current consoles and it's peripherals, they need to keep that new feeling for as long as possible.

As for this gen showing it's age, there still isn't much you can do that the general public will appreciate. You can improve performance but the jump from PS3 to PS4 wouldn't be much of a step when compared to the usual console upgrade and gamers would be more reluctant to make the switch as they were with DVD > Blu-ray. PCs will always be ahead of the game, but consoles are still far more popular, showing that we don't necessarily need to stay at exactly the same standards. Things are better than ever for the 360 and PS3 right now, with games like Call of Duty still raking in money and Kinect about to explode over Christmas.

If they do end up releasing new consoles in 2 years, they'll be doing it reluctantly.

I highly doubt that but hey i don't have the game yet.. even if that was the case it still wouldn't stop me from picking GT5 up... as long as there is a penalty for wreck less driving i am satisfied.... The game main focus is driving and from what i have heard or seen there really isn't any complaints in that department

There's definitely something up with the shadows, they flicker a lot in certain situations, doesn't look particularly nice, I'm sure this will get picked up on more once everyone has the game.

True

I hope there'll not be much Lag because

Lag + Racing games

= SUICIDE FOR THE ONLINE MODE

I learned my lesson. It takes game developer a while to learn new hardware and i will not be forking over 60$ for games that don't even feel rite on the new systems.. I traded my ps2 when 360 came out and then sold my 360 for a ps3 60 gig and ended up plying ps2 games for almost a full year (one of them being GT4):D
