Ok at the end of the day the release date is all that matters but it would've been nice from them to show something today. GT5 is the biggest game PS3 is getting, release is around the corner and they spent 10 seconds on it... Let's hope for tomorrow but honestly it's hard for me to understand if there's no info and media blowout at gamescon. Fingers crossed...

I have to agree. I really do not know why Sony isn't hyping GT5 more. Remember when they showed Uncharted 2 for the first time on stage with gameplay? Everyone was like !!!!!!!. Not to mention the negative PR GT5 seems to accumulate due to its delayed release date.

It's quite possible that Kaz wants to do the announcing for GT5's features tomorrow. It's worth noting that neither the PSblog or the European websites have even updated to show the official date that was just announced. So that makes me think that they're holding back for a big update tomorrow.

I agree. They should do a lot more, like tie it into fast food restaurant promotions and having their own special presentations at these events...

This. Until this happens I don't think that anyone can really comment on how GT5 is being handled at this Gamescom. The Sony presentation was relatively short and when the presentations in the past have had huge reveals on multiple games they have pushed three hours long.

It's worth noting that neither the PSblog or the European websites have even updated to show the official date that was just announced.
Well, to be fair, both sites ran the official live blog which had this:
18:47 James Gallagher: OK, onto the good stuff, starting with GT5

18:47 James Gallagher: Coming out November 3

18:47 James Gallagher: That's official.
All articles since have been focused on the major talking points from the presentation: LBP2, Infamous 2, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, Killzone 3 multiplayer, and new PS3 SKUs.

Personally, I think that complaining about GT5 marketing nearly three months from release is a bit premature. Not even Kevin Butler starts pushing games that early.

During E3 I recall many websites saying that Gamescom would be the coming out party for this game. Seeing as how EU is by far the biggest selling region got GT games I believe that so with that said tomorrow should be the day we get some more information about the game.

It just has to be, if not then WOW is pretty much all I can say. They gave a whole 30 seconds today.........Sony gave 30 seconds to their biggest franchise. The one which will outsell every other Sony first party title by at least 2x.

Something there is just not right so with that said I have high expectations for tomorrow. I can't see Sony leaving many details for TGS but then again I'm not part of the think tank at Sony so maybe they want to reveal more details in a place where Kaz can reveal everything and not have to rely on translator dude.

 Seriously, the game is everywhere already, you can even win it already in several raffles etc.

same here

I don't think this is all we'll get. Didn't Kaz himself say (not sure) that GT5 would be revealed a lot more in-depth at Gamescom?

I think you guys should've learned something from the past 3 years.
Wait till a show is over before judging the material.

Yeah I remember something similar. And of course they weren't supposed to say anything about GT5 at this conference (other than the release date).
The real conference will take place tomorrow.

The date was "Certain" to be announced at the show.

However today was an utter let down particulary as some websites and including our Jordan had linked/posted that todays conference would include "GT5".
Oh well, still we can only wait and see what tomorrow brings and guys lets look on the bright side of things as tomorrow cant be any worse than today :)

For now I'm just happy Europe's date has been set at November the 3rd with all the rumours of the 24th going around recently.......
I think many ( including me to be honest ) were expecting a new trailer, nothing more, as most news ( or hopefully clarifications ) will probably arrive the coming days.

Yes, could please someone print this in 3 meter high letters on the front page?

Seriously guys, get a grip. 3rd of November is actually pretty good news.

1st of November is a bank holiday in some parts of Germany for example, so one day delay isn't anything, really. They presumably did this so that online retailers could ship it "the same day". And that's just Germany, go figure it out for the rest of Europe.

Seriously, tomorrow Famine will most probably locked in a room with Translator-Dude! Come back then and ask for big news.

Dear me, madhouse this thread has become.

Absolutely agree, but my question still remains: What's with the playeble GT pods there? Isn't gNNy and others there to take footage to upload?

Nothing is ever certain. GT5 was in the preview announcing the EU release date and it was featured in a 3D video. Whilst I understand people had high hopes for something like the E3 show this was much shorter so was never going to have as much info. I'm sure by this time tomorrow no one will be disappointed :)

Fair enough, you had your expectations up, but what extra do you really need to be revealed about the game? We know what versions we can pre-order, at what price, we know what the rewards will be, and we now know when we will be getting it.

I wouldn't mind, but nothing else revealed between now and launch will change the game, nor will it change many peoples purchasing decision. We'll all get to experience whatever delights the game has at roughly the same time as everybody else, so as far as I am concerned, all necessary reveals have been made, and I for one am very happy with them!

I think the fact Sony showed a sizable portion of Medal of Honor, for instance, instead of GT5 didn't help. I mean MoH showed at the Sony conference at E3 but instead of showing GT5 today, a game more people want to know about, they showed MoH...again.
