I have other music ideas for trailers and ads, but no time to complete them as I started to read the thread only 3 days ago and was focused on the one I posted.
Maybe for the next event!

Hi all, i thought you might be interested in this....my cousin works for the BBC in london and is currently on a exchange program with Sony in Japan. Anyhow he phoned me this morning and told me this.....

He was in a meeting as an observer, attending the meeting was the Sony Corp president and fellow directors and the directors from Polyphony Digital.My cousin said that a lot of the talk was about GT5,he told me that the release date has been decided and its the **/**/**** but this might interest you...they discussed the budget for the advertisment campaign and the trailers ie which trailers for different regions etc etc...anyhow they shown a few of the trailers and they were very happy until, some junior exec mentioned this thread. So the sony president right away looked up this thread and after viewing all the videos.....stood up and jumped onto the boardroom table and started yelling like a mad man " we've spent millions of yen to come up with these trailers and there are people on gtplanet turning out videos of vastly superior quality...your all sacked, empty your desks and leave the building!!!...he then turned to the junior exec who had told him about this thread and told him to get in touch with the competetion entries and fly them to japan and offer them all high paying jobs with company cars, houses and to pay all there relocation expenses!!!So, expect a letter in the post!!

You all really should stop this, who knows if he is true or not. If you don't believe him, don't criticize and make jokes, keep it to yourselves. For all you know, he's right and paskowitz is going to japan, or we're all asses for believing him.

I say just to make an example, lets have these catagories:


Best Trailer

Best Intro

Best TV Spot

Best Closing

Best Commercial

Of course, no one seems to be doing a closing so technically, we would have only four catagories. Obviously we know who alot of you are voting for in "Best Trailer" but how about the other catagories?

Wow I actually really like yours (its not like the others). With a bit more editing it could be amazing. No, seriously. I like the whole text thing and the music is really cool (different). Reminds me of the 911 conspiracy videos but in a good way. 👍

I actually asked him if I could make a similar video (on GT) since I was basically inspired by what he did (he was cool with it). My video is still all my work though. There have been many racing videos with the 2 audio clips (McQueen and Stewart) mixed in. As well as many videos with the song that I chose. Its hard to come up with something completely original these days.

Watching these videos has really put me in the mood to do my own. However im encountering a few problems in the process.

Im using windows movie maker and im having difficulties when saving the movie file. What basically happens is if I use WMV videos from say Gametrailers or IGN when saving the movie file an error message comes up saying something like "I don't having the video on my computer". This is obviously incorrect but if I use a Mpeg video from Gamespot then it will save. So this is obviously something to do with using WMV videos that I have downloaded from Gametrailer etc. The problem with these Mpeg videos is the quality is very poor. I can't use Mpeg4 as Windows movie maker doesn't recognise them!

So my question is what source did you use to make your videos? Did you use windows movie maker? If you encountered the same error message as me how did you get around this?

I really would appreciate some help as i've had a fantastic idea for a video with a perfect backing sound track.

Thats really strange because I used the HD WMV videos from GT and they worked just fine. In fact it was the MPEG4 videos that did not work. Hhhhmmm...
