Gran Turismo 6 E3 2013, General discussion(Live streaming links).

Yup .

I wonder what would happen if I posted on GTP that, for instance, my ex-gf has an advance copy of GT6. Surely, I would have a full-blown dossier on her in a matter of hours!

 There is some detective talent here that's for sure.
Williow Springs raceway is 1.5 hours away from this place :)

Interesting ,they could be using Willow in the Ad aswell, nice spot 👍

Why couldn't SMS convince Ferrari to have tuning etc. in that Ferrari-only game they made (I bought it, don't remember its name...), but they could in SHIFT, and presumably will in pCARS?

I'm not saying they did accept / expect payment, but they're clearly awkward buggers.

Maybe "peer pressure" from the right manufacturers is what's needed. And since it's the only consistent difference, it seems we have a new argument for Porsche to be in GT...

Okay, either they had a coffee clatch in which a deal was reached which likely involved a sum of money, or MS threatened their families.

Better? ;) The only alternative I can think of is mind control.

Okay, I give, what's the reason? They slept together?

I don't know the reason and neither do you, that's the point. I'm not making up reasons and presenting them as fact though, unlike you.

PS: Can someone please help me resizing the image? I know that at it's current size it's too annoying.

Seriously, where do these interviewers think up their questions?

GamesBeat: If you have an untrained eye, what would you notice that’s better about PlayStation 4 racing games compared to the PlayStation 3?

I mean, really? What exciting answer did they expect from that one? As for the other questions, no real answers as usual. Thankfully Jordan seemingly got more out of him.

He did but he still doesn't seem to want to speak about specifics of the game he's releasing in less than six months, which is odd. They asked what they would add on to GT6 over GT5 and he just spoke about how slow the UI was in GT5.

Maybe with GT5 in mind he's decided or been advised to not talk too many specifics until improvements are specified, coded, tested and retested and they're ready to go.

It is better by far to underpromise and overdeliver.

If he wanted to talk about it, he already would have I guess. Will be interesting to see if Jordan managed to make him open up more about GT6. I think Kaz's idea is though to release most information closer to release like GT5 to create hype about game when it matters most.

GamesBeat: How important is online play for you moving forward?

Yamauchi: Online play is a feature that all games are going to have automatically now. Of course, Gran Turismo is going to have that as a feature. But when you think about it, what’s really important to a Real Driving Simulator isn’t that kind of competition. Online features are something that we have to have, but that’s not going to be the part of the game that will be the deciding factor for most people. The basic simulation is still the core of the game.

Kazunori, you're doing it wrong. Still.

Yea its kind of staggering isn't it?

But I found Kaz talking so open about the capacities of the PS3 quite interesting.

Actually I thought that was one of his best interviews yet since GT6's unveiling. There were some questions there that were rather broad and didn't necessarily pertain to the new game, but they were interesting nonetheless. I agree hearing Kaz criticize the PS3 hardware like that was very surprising and informative. It's amazing to think that thirteen years on, there's still some advantages the PS2 has over current-gen hardware.

I think Sony has learned much in the last ten years or so, it's evident in the PS4's design. They went to a bunch of different developers, first and third party, and created the hardware based on their input. It's a really simple but intelligent thing to do. I remember Kaz Hirai talking back in '05 or '06 about the PS3, how the team purposely made it difficult to develop for so programmers wouldn't be able to unleash the full potential of the system too soon in the life cycle. Sony has obviously been facing the repercussions of that over the last few years and they're making the appropriate changes now.

Percentage wise there is still way less people playing online than not. So I do not think he got it wrong, it just s@cks for us.

I think he is totally correct. The core group that he is marketing to are more concerned with the simulation accuracy than online options. It could have the greatest online options of any game in history but without the good simulation it would just be another game collecting dust.

With good simulation even if it has limited online options it is still going to see a lot of sales and a lot of play time. Of course they need to do the best they can with the online play of the game. They are moving in the right direction, many additions to the online options via patches to GT5 and more stuff coming in GT6.

Now if only we can get a good leaderboard system I will be very pleased with GT6.

No, we must bow to the wisdom of the well meaning citizens here watching out for our lowly selves who would never pick and chose who to accuse of making things up, because we all know that every car in Gran Turismo sounds precisely like a Kirby upright, and the bots are the worst in the history of videogames, and the people at Polyphony Digital are terminally lazy... ;)

Actually, I see this as a good thing. We all want the core offline single player to be a big feature rich BIG mess of races we can explore endlessly. Well, at least I do.
