Back middle looks a little like the bonnet sweep of a 156 GTA Sportwagon to me.

Agreed. I'm surprised the FD2 still isn't here considering it was in GT5/GT6
FD2 civic also disappeared from other rac games. Considering hatchback became the symbol of civic-r, guess those producers dislike a “weird” sedan civic-r even if FD2 is a great car.

So much of a flop that the second generation CH-R was not sold in Japan. That being said, the CH-R does have a N24 participation to its achievement list, which might be a potential GT Auto aero part set:

@Normalaatsra There was nothing impressive about it. I didn't even know there was a second generation anywhere in the world because they also dropped it from the US market in favor of the Corolla Cross, which is a considerably more useable and cheaper alternative, and is somehow both less stylish AND less ugly.

The CH-R was a total flop in the US. It was neither sporty nor useable, with a stupid coupe-like roof that compromised cargo and rear seat space compared to competitors. Miserable drivetrains. Worse yet, in America the CH-R was only offered in FWD which was a huge miss when competitors were offering AWD. People were even choosing to buy old cars over the CH-R, like my 2005 Rav4 which is the same size but offered AWD 15 years prior at the time the CH-R was new.

But you know what? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Currently in America the CH-R is only a few years old and most are still pretty expensive. But by the time this thing is 10 years old and most examples have 100,000 miles, they'll probably be less than $10,000 which is first-car territory for a lot of American youths. And youths can't help but modify their cars. Perhaps the CH-R will turn out to be a cheap and modifiable platform? It's got a good platform although the drivetrains are completely useless. If anybody wants to have fun, a relatively expensive and complex manual swap will be in order but no manuals were offered in the US as far as I'm aware.

This seems like a stupid and boring addition to the game but we gotta keep in mind that most of the cars included in GT2 that we reminisce over were indeed stupid and boring economy cars. I would still prefer to have those older, more established boring cars in GT7 rather than a newish one that hasn't blossomed yet but hey, maybe they've actually picked one that will be relevant in ten years, as many of those GT2 cars were back in the day.

I'll say it here - this CH-R addition is a better choice than another GT-R or a Vision GT or a new Ferrari. We need more regular, attainable, modifiable cars in the game. I'd rather have dozens of older ones, but the CH-R is indeed the type of regular ass car that we need.

Edit: @Famine I'm pretty sure that's an EF Civic, not an AH. The AH has a notably taller headlamp with no landing a chamfer between it and the bumper to catch light like the EF does. The AF also has straighter, taller hood creases and its sprayers are further apart. The EF's bumper sticks out further than the AH. The rear edge of the EF's hood is a continuous line while the AH dips around the cowl vent.

My point is that cars like jimny or aqua or prius is just useless, when there are cars which is more enjoyable. I do not think anyone drives Prius in the GT7 for fun :D
I would and do.

Paper-racing muscle cars generally bore me rigid, but then I'm not so self-absorbed as to say that nobody cares about them just because I don't.

How about a simple FoV slider?
GT7 is the only racing game on the market that does not let you adjust the FoV.
A very good question. I'm waiting for it in Gran Turismo for ages, it could be a simple yet transformative addition for this game.

Well I’ve had to uninstall the game because there is still no Gokumobile. I mean it’s bad enough I can’t get my 89 Batmobile but now I have to suffer even more knowing my Gokumobile isn’t coming either. Kaz and PD what are your priorities? Tsk. The next update better have Mr Whippy’s dodgy, smoky, motor mowing sounding van. With ice cream machine function and jingle. 🙃

Quite excited for the C-HR. Driving instructor used a Qashqai so will be the first proper similar type of car I get to try in the sim.

I also really enjoy how the Urus drives, I love the weight these things have to throw around on their bouncy suspensions.

It always annoys me the people who complain about slow cars in a GT game
Gran Turismo has always been about slow cars and Japanese ****boxes, if you want every single car you drive to be [Insert Hypercar here] Forza is right over there
True, but the Aqua, Prius, Fit, and i3 all come with CVTs and hybrid drivetrains. It would be nice if GT allowed for engine/transmission swaps, but for some reason they don't.

I also love little "slow" cars in all the GT titles (I ran a Demio for as long as I could), but before they've never been as restricted as the ones we have now when it comes to modification.

I would love to have a 2ZZ/K swapped manual trans Aqua, but as it is, no dice.

Hopefully this is fixed with this update because this is unacceptable.

All of these cars (and a few more) drive perfectly fine in time trials and the AI in custom races have no issues driving them, but I can’t use them in events or custom races because of a coding error that labels these cars unable to drive unless I heavily de-tune them, add ballast, or equip worse grade tires, when they absolutely can function as they are without issues.
The only car that really deserves that label that I’ve encountered is the engine swapped Abarth 595 with no ballast.
