I'm depressed seeing so many people say that an April update is unlikely because I've been eagerly awaiting the silhouettes to drop this week.
Really, they should have landed by now if it's an April update, and the whole thing with the social media posts on the previous update's content that commonly precedes an update hasn't happened yet either. That's not to say that it won't be, but it's tending more towards "expect May, after GTWS Nations Cup" at this point (which we more or less said when the GTWS schedule was announced).

As for content, the numbers say maybe four cars, and if four the numbers say 3 Road/1 Race, 2 Asia/2 Europe (but the pattern says 1 America, so 2 Asia/1 Europe), 2 New/1 Used/1 Legends, 3 All New/1 Returning.

Fingers crossed for one of the cars being a new GT3 car (if the pattern states 1 European car, maybe the M4 GT3?). But I don‘t want to get my hopes up too much.

At this point if a race car arrives it'll be old or slow. This:

... is more likely than a recent GT3.

Thanks for the great reply. I was expecting a second to last week of the month silhouette teaser and a very end of the month update, given what I’ve amateur-ly observed in the past. What am I missing?

Updates generally - but not always - arrive on the final Thursday of a month. That'd be this Thursday, April 24th; next Thursday is May 1st.

They're generally - but not always - preceded by the silhouette Tweet on the Friday/Saturday/Sunday before. That was last weekend.

There's also a pattern on the Gran Turismo social media channels highlighting the cars of the previous update in the lead up to the next one. Last month we got highlights of the cars on March 13th (205), 15th (Z4), and 24th (Unimog), before the update on 27th. We're yet to see highlights for the CX-30, Kangoo, and Vantage.

Well, looks like we'll have to wait until next month for a new update.

Too bad, I always enjoy these days with the excitement generated by the silhouettes and the chance to find out what new cars will be added.

On the bright side, we'll probably have more than just three cars in the next update, maybe four or five, we'll see.

You should rethink that:
Those figures are from a 4 year old article, a bit out of date and also referring to the whole life of the franchises rather than the present reality.

Mario Kart Deluxe sold upwards of 70 million copies.

It’s a bit harder to get an exact figure for Forza Horizon 5 because of Gamepass, but the last reported figure was 40 million players (and it’s been topping the PS preorder charts since the announcement so that will only increase).

GT7 is around 15 million. A big fish in the simracing world, but a comparitive minnow against the whales of the whole gaming ocean.

Now we're looking at an update probably within the next three weeks (I'm thinking May 15th, to avoid GTWS clashes), I'll make these:

Into:

BMW 635 E24 (Road/Europe/Used/All-New), or Alpina B7 of same because "someone" at PD has/had one
Nissan Juke Nismo RS (Road/Asia/New/All-New), although maybe a bogger 1.2 is more likely, because recent addiction to adding CUVs
Saleen S7 (Road/America/New&Used/Returning), because everyone else said C5 Corvette and although I agree that's the likeliest American car, why not be different?
Toyota 222D (Race/Asia/Legends/All-New), because it was the first Asian Legends-compatible race car I could think of off-the-cuff that hasn't been in GT yet.

They can still show the media posts between now and April 25(Unimog was the final post on March 25). Adding an update on the following Tuesday. We got the PSVR2 Compatibility update February 21, 2023 on a Tuesday.

Well, we’ll see.

What the heck, man? This is what I drafted yesterday:

I’m feeling this is the next BMW we’ll get.

We’ve got a majority of straight-six coupes in the game. Having both classic CSL models would be empty without the 635.

I guess I'll try to come up with a prediction which lines up with Famine's formula. I think I've done it properly, and full of cope.

G.M.A. T.50: EU, Road, New car, New addition

C8 Corvette C8.R/Z06.R: Am, Race, New car, New addition

2007 FN2 Civic Type R: As, Road, New & Used, New addition

1995 R33 GT-R LM (road car): As, Road, Legends, Returning

January update were all cars from Asia. February cars were all from Europe(except the Gr.4 Mazda3 livery). March were mix of Europe and Asia.

If a car from one of the Americas was to be added next update, I'd have to go with the strike rate of Dodge.
- return of the '71 Dodge Charger adds another Charger model to the lineage of '69 Charger and Charger Hellcat

I thought of the AAR Eagle, but I'm not convinced PD will another award car this game.

Which brings me to race cars. PD psyched us out with the Pikes Peak Hyundai by giving us parts instead of the full blown race version. A Gr.4/GT4 would be a possibly, but again, PD gave us an Aston Martin Vantage with GT4 parts for players to build their own.
Ferrari race car? Other than the award 512S that's about to be four or five years since winning, we're not getting much sign of an updated Ferrari GT3 car. Let alone a One Make Challenge car from Maranello.
I think the last race cars added were the Gr.4 Mazda3 MSR livery and GR010 Black livery. Before those it was the Subaru Rally Car.

I don't see a full on new or returning race car in the near future.

Second prediction had me pointing at the ND Roadster RF. That would make it three Mazda's in a row. In its place I'm predicting the GR Yaris '24 with the automatic transmission.

Final prediction is the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 '24. Adding to the growing list of SUVs and a quick four-cylinder version at that.
Updating my prediction as it appears me and Famine had the same thought of a new addition to the game.

- BMW 635. I’m thinking a regular one and not the M635 CSi just because it could be either like we have both E30, both CSL models and in the datamine, PD have both 2002 Tii and Turbo models.

- Dodge Charger ‘71 as a returning North American car in fully rendered form

- GR Yaris ‘24 with automatic transmission

- Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 ‘24

Respectfully, I hope you're entirely wrong, but it's such a good guess.

I'm not sure what to make of the social media posts starting now (beyond there being an update in May at some point). I almost kind of hope it's a couple of weeks away still, I suspect people will be antsy mid-June if the May update is literally the 1st of May.

Still, that's solid enough for me to submit a prediction:
  • 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI - model line extender, datamine car, returning Premium, finally getting the GT Auto animation car. Seems a fairly safe pick to come eventually.
  • 2020 Porsche Cayenne - it's hard not to pick at least one SUV/crossover car given recent trends. We haven't had a Porsche so far in 2025, it feels about time for another one.
  • 1952 Cunningham C-4R - we are well overdue a Pebble Beach car. I was tempted to go the Alfa 8C Zagato - the Cunningham and AAR Eagle seem like they could be licensing minefields, and the 330 P4 seems unnecessary. But I'll keep it simple and pick the oldest outstanding one.

I’m going to predict 4 cars for the next update as followed:
1. Mazda RX-7 éfini Type-R (FD) ‘91 - datamine list car and fills a gap for the earlier FD model (which was also a premium in Gran Turismo 5 and 6).
2. Hyundai i30N ‘24 - debut to the series and would continue the progression of Hyundai cars as the partnership may intend to.
3. Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk ‘20 - debut to the series, adds to the Jeep manufacturer and effectively acts as the next American car to appear (based on trends I’m seeing here and keeping the theme of SUV style cars but in a more supercar-like manner for a change).
4. BMW M5 ‘05 - datamine list car, would be a different M car to the current list and adds the iconic V10 soundtrack to the game.
