the 205 threw me that they actually included it, disappointed it was a pre face lift model (orange indicators)

I often think a V10 beemer would be nice but the 5 series (M) and the 6 series (M) are probably not that iconic to most of the player base.

So based on the previous updates, iconic cars (e36 m3, 205, 190 cossie etc) it really would surprise me if something like a Clio Williams or R19 16v was a car

There is a real lack of SEAT/Cupra cars as well and there is a brand relationship with VAG, and being honest the Skoda thing was rubbish considering we could of had both the Fabio and Octavia vRS cars :/

So I predict the following:

90s hot hatch, left field a Renault 5 GT Turbo Raider, more plausible than a nova GSI and less likely than a MK2 Golf GTI 16v

The missing MX5 that nobody wants apart from the people that have them

Cyber truck…..because GT do GT things

Hyundai I30N l, it’s a clear class rival to the golf and the focus

I am not a paying member of the "an update is later than expected, OMG GT7 is dead" club. However, without having a thorough record of update history, iirc this is the first time we miss an update in a normal month without some feasible explanation.
Can someone who does record updates (Famine?) confirm this is somewhat out of the ordinary?
Thanks!

There was no December update I don’t think

Quick google reveals we "only" had 8 content updates in '23 and '24 - so 16 over 24 months.

So nothing unusual here.

For completeness, the months with no updates are:

  • January 2023
  • July 2023*
  • October 2023*
  • December 2023
  • June 2024
  • August 2024
  • September 2024*
  • December 2024
  • April 2025(possibly *)
Months marked with a * all had an update very early in the next month, so on cadence you might consider the next one the "missed" one (there was an update on 2 November 2023, for example).

In addition to the above...
without some feasible explanation
... is a pretty broad church.

For starters, Yamauchi very clearly said early in the game's life that updates are not monthly by design but that they just happened to be like that early on. Content updates were monthly-enough to December 2022, then there wasn't one in January.

You can also invoke virtually anything as a "feasible explanation". For example, April 29th-May 5th is "Golden Week" in Japan, a largely week-long national holiday. Perhaps launching an update on April 30th wouldn't allow for proper support if things went wrong, so that's why they aren't going to do it; previous April updates were on the 25th, 26th, and 25th, giving a couple of days to work on errors.
