Looks to me like it is only about single races, not championships? Hope I'm wrong though.
It is, but since there are 50 slots, you can save single races and count them as a championship with your own point system in your notes or spreadsheet app.

Saved the first three races of my Touring Car Masters championship. If you load one track settings to a different track, it just adjusts those settings. It should load the track you saved, not just the settings. Weird thinking, PD.
You know PD likes to half implement ideas. If they actually followed through correctly it would seem weird to us

You have to select a track in able to get to the custom race menu anyway, so wouldn't really make sense if you go to one circuit just to try and load another.

Was hoping this feature would have been added in the new update but guess not. I just want PD to add a mandatory pit stop feature and usable/mandatory tyres feature into the custom lobbies? They have this feature for online lobbies so how hard can it be to add it to custom races?

I think whenever I get a chance to play I am going to setup my Kei car series. I have 5 of each Kei car I just to get liveries for all of them. This update shuld allow me to do a series with them

It’s not a Championship like PD create with points. It’s race by race because, we can only access a track set up at that track. If you load a set up at a different track, the grid, weather, race length, etc. load at that track. I’m not sure about 24H scenarios.

I have Race 1 at DTG, Evening with cars 1-18
Race 2 at DTG, Late Morning, cars 1-18 in different positions.
Race 3 at Tokyo Expwy South Clockwise, Afternoon, 1-18 in different positions.

I loaded Race 2 at Tokyo to test it out. I wasn’t taken to DTG. Instead, Race 2 loaded at Tokyo with all the settings intact. We have travel each track.

It’s not like Assetto Corsa where we create a Championship, add the tracks, add the cars, select point structure. Then, after each race is completed, select the next race and loads at that track.

You need to select cars from your garage that you have tuned to be that way. Keep in mind the tires are buggy, any racing slicks installed will default to racing hard, and any tires lower than that will default to the stock tire that comes on the car.
Ah that explains why my Demio which is meant to be on Sports Softs gets put on Comfort Mediums and limps 30 seconds behind the pack.

Did anyone check if the tire situation is corrected?

Just checked actually, and it's still the same, unfortunately.

Feels so good not having to load cars again. Just need to change the names to the real world drivers and I’m good.

I did a quick test and if you create custom AI driver names and then save the Race Settings, those names are part of it! That's so handy, not having to input the same names again and again 😁

Honestly since we have figured out how to get better races with the AI, I'm excited to get home from work and play every day. This update is the cherry on top.

Been a blast so far! Have made a GT World Series with all nostalgic and new gt cars to the series, a 1950s race, a 1989 M3 Touring Car Race, and a WTCC Race! Up to 50 settings to be saved is wild too 🤯. 1 hour endurance races in custom settings now feel more purposeful. I'm less concerned about credits and more curious about how races pan out.

question: do you guys know any way to look at the full grid of a specific championship?

I tried looking for 2010-2017 GT series across the globe, but I can't never find the full list with cars and teams.

Right now I'm trying to make Super GT 1999. So far no luck trying to find all the cars for both GT300 and GT500. Any ideas on what I should do if I want to recreate those tournaments?

And while I'm at it, I have an idea for this thread. How about we share liveries from our custom races?

Like, if someone is recreating GT World 2022 and found liveries for all cars and teams, share the link with us so we can also use them!

edit: something like this! https://supergt.net/archive/classic/supergt.net/jgtc/ex/gtc_cham/1999e/99R1e/991entr.htm

click on season and select the year 2011-2022.

For other series, https://supergt.net/races select "Races" and you'll see the drop down from 1994-2022

Super Taikyu https://supertaikyu.com/

Touring Car Masters(TCM) https://touringcarmasters.com.au/

World Endurance Championship https://www.fiawec.com/en/

This is how I do all my series. Car info/specs/liveries, race conditions at the time, qualifying order, race results. All that good stuff.

Would anyone be interested in a custom career? I’m working on two career paths, open wheel and closed wheel. You start in karts for open wheel, and work your way up to Super Formula. Closed wheel has endurance events, but you can swap between them once you’ve completed a season in WEC/Super Formula depending on your chosen career path.

Once you complete a season, you unlock the Invitational League which has various types of events like the classic GT career. A certain type of car, or a time attack. I’ve only made one event for it so far, will work on that after finishing the rest of the events for the different career paths.

Going to post it in the main forum when it’s finished.

If PD keeps expanding on the feature we really won't need new events. They could make it so you can create custom events with proper tire selection and pit stops being mandatory, + fix the AI + share them and wouldn't care if they never added another event ever again. IF they let us make championships then that would be ace! Would make this game 10/10 for me .

Gruppe 5 is go!
Thought the built cars wouldn’t be competitive. I even started further back because, I got no red bars when setting up the grid. Set PP highest (737) to lowest(664). The Skylines are 728(second fastest behind the Pantera). Really surprised with the Z4 engined CSLs. Gave the 930s a good run. Love the Skyline(in my favourite green). I’ll definitely start up higher.

Now that it seems like we've figured out how to have competitive Custom Races, I figured I'd start getting my 'Street Series' up and running again. Mostly JDM classics and some Euro cars, all tuned to roughly 600pp/325hp. Think of Mid Night Club (the Japanese street racing crew) meets Time Attack.

Some observations:
AI still only use 95-98% throttle, never 100%.
Sports Brakes, Pads and Clutches are must-haves for the AI

Settings were:
3 Laps Fuji Grid start 7 cars
No fuel/tyre wear
Boost Weak Slipstream Real
Mechanical Damage None
Shortcut Penalty Strong
Wall Collision Penalty Strong
Correct Vehicle Off
Car Collision Penalty On
Pit-Lane Cutting Penalty On
Flag Rules On

Field was:
07' Z33
'02 FD RX-7
'99 WRX STi
'98 22B
'97 Supra RZ
'97 GT-R R33
then me in a '91 Lancia Delta

Still need to do some refining to keep the grid a little closer together, as the Supra and R33 were lagging behind. The Z33 dominated, while the two Rexie's tried their best to keep up, followed by the RX-7. I managed 5th with just Intermediate AI.

I made a 1 hour race with custom weather and 20 custom cars. But, I'm now experiencing freezing during the race. Not a full freeze and crash, but a couple times a lap the game freezes for a second or so. Has this happened with anyone else?

Back when they patched Circuit Experiences to actually be worth something, I bought 10 SF19s with the hopes of creating some custom races with the F1 grid - unfortunately the lack of settings savings made this far too time consuming to have been worth it!

But those days are gone, thankfully, and I now have a 10 strong grid of "F1" cars tuned in performance order; with Williams having their power restriction at 90 for example, whereas Ferrari and Red Bull run at 100 - the rest are scaled between.
Settings saving let me keep the grid names and rough grid order, and it's a lot of fun setting it up at random tracks and seeing how they do. I run in a Williams with an extra 10% ECU deficit so that I don't destroy them all in a straight line.

Performance order means there's always some form of battling, though the AI are still of course quite bad and are afraid of overtaking, which is a bit of a shame but you still see battles crop up every now and then, primarily in the first few laps (lap 1 is always a good one). Some pictures below, all of AI.
