Porsche Carrera Cup 92 (all cars 275BHP/1120kg/RH)

Started 14th. Crashed at the 13km marker on Lap 1. Moved up to 15th by the end of Lap2. Only gained two more spots by AI crashing. Didn’t break the top 12 of the results screen. Good stuff.

AI are very strong with this car.

Finally got 18 GT500 '16 cars together and tested them in A-spec (me being the 19th GT500 car), as well as B-spec (me being the Safety Car) mode for 10 laps at Tokyo Expressway East Outer Loop; standing start and boost set to "weak".

Quite some fights between the AI cars in B-spec mode, the car starting in 9th even overtook the leading car on the final lap at the first hard braking zone to go on and win the race. I went briefly into the pits with the Safety Car at the end of lap 8, as to not disturb the AI cars.

A-spec mode was a different animal. Started from the back, expecting an easy race, but no, the AI was more often than not outbreaking me at the two hard braking zones or outright overtook me back and all I could manage was 7th place at the end. Not unhappy about it though, as I felt I really had to work for this.

Most probably gonna continue with testing the A-spec mode, since it's more fun to drive with the pack instead of just bringing the Safety Car over the distance.

Has anybody attempted to do Lemans Multi-Class race of any year?
Not Le mans but i've made several multiclass FIA GT and BPR based races:

GT1:
Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM x2
McLaren F1 GTR LongTail x3
Porsche 911 GT1 Evo x2
RUF CTR3 as Porsche 911 GT1 Evo 1996 x1
Ferrari F40 LM/Competizone x2
McLaren F1 GTR ShortTail x2
Dodge Viper GTS/R 1996 GT1 Lemans spec x1
Corvette C4 GT1 x1
Lamborghini Diablo SVR x1

GT2:
Dodge Viper GTS/R x2
Porsche 911 GT2 Evo x2
Lamborghini Diablo GT2 or GT x1

Has anybody attempted to do Lemans Multi-Class race of any year?
Yes but it was pointless really. I wanted to LMP1/Hyper, GT3 & GT4 cars and I was going to drive a GT3 Ferrari. With the lack of proper multi class races mixing and these classes not been able to win it seem pointless as you will only collect credits for 7/8/9 etc…
If they added features that allowed multi class races on the same track where you can win that category I would do more races, at like Spa, Nerbergring, Suzuka etc…

I am thinking that credits it is not the point in custom race. You just race your own races. Then do credit grind somewhere else.
True, but even so, we really could use a boost for custom races.

Last night I did a Kyoto 300km race and after 1:40 hours I got 60k credits as reward. It doesn't need to be 700-800k like the normal events, but I wouldn't complain if it was 300-400k.

My 591pp Super Street grid is coming along. Couple issues I spotted:
  • the 22B is incredibly erratic with an AI driver, 3/3 races I did on Tokyo East CCW they spun out. First at T1, next the first big hairpin, and then the twisty back section.
  • the Z33 is OP fast with an AI behind the wheel, even when ballasted down.
All AI on RH tyres, full dry conditions and Pro difficulty. Boost Weak, penalties etc etc. Cars are mostly stock save for Sports Brakes/Pads/Suspension/Clutch, tuned to 310-325hp and all on wide tyres. Might have to go through and remove the rear diffuser from some of them though, I think that's what's causing some of them to seem so OP. Funnily enough the Supra, RX7 and R33 struggle the most.

I'm having issues with all liveries on the grid loading in my saved settings for custom races. Anyone else having this issue? The last four to five cars in any grid aren't having their liveries loaded

I’m having issues trying to save and load a modified livery right now.
Same here since 2 hours.
It suddenly doesn’t load my Liveries in Custom Mode.
Been playing the whole day and everything was fine.

That saving settings in Custom races was really needed and I'm enjoying it right now.
But PD, will you make another step to perfection and allow us to change our car in the settings menu? Maybe in the next update? 😉

Qualifying race at Tokyo Expressway South Outer Loop for my Super GT World Championship with the cars from 2016. Went with the Safety Car myself, so the AI could do its thing. 15 laps, standing start, boost at weak, Honda, Lexus and Nissan with 6 cars each.

#1 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R looked set to win from pole position, but the #3 CRAFTSPORTS MOTUL GT-R had other plans and made a pass at the end of the long straight (with slight kinks here and there) close to the end.

Nine rounds with two races each of around 75 km coming up now. Race 1 will feature a reversed grid determined by the championship standings, while Race 2's grid will simply be just the result of Race 1.

Going with one of the 18 cars each time that's placed furthest at the back. First stop is Spa-Francorchamps. I hope the AI continues to be as promising as she's been until now.

That's so nice. The 2016 series is definitely my next step! I'm happy to see that is possible to use liveries for all teams from that year. A drink to all creators out there

I bought wet and inter tires for the whole grid, so of course I did a rainy race!

VJYkphr.png

Tip: if you're planning to buy any kind of tire to your custom race, do it on Time Attack mode. There we can switch cars faster and since the last update we can also buy all types of tires + ballast and restrictor. Much better than selecting each one of them in the garage, going to GT Auto, buy the tires and then going to garage again...

The race itself was pretty hard. The AI had a nice and smooth line. Some minor bumps here and there, but clean race overall.

Can you see it? No? Well good, because I can't see it too!

What do you mean B spec and safety car in GT7? How does it work?

Forget Sophy for a minute. This current AI are cheeky. A little car placement slows my trajectory. Some braking in areas, has me slowing in anticipation of the AI doing the same thing, but they don’t. I nearly take myself out, half defending and trying to set up a move. Not quite ProjectCars 2 AI, but jeez, some of my races, AI appear clever.

My only gripe about them is that when they lake a lower line into a corner to defend their position, they slam on the brakes going into it and you have to take evasive action to avoid hitting them.

For sure. Then, having to alter my optimum line, waiting for a brake check and the cars behind catch up.
Kaz is nailing that human drama, in annoying way.
