How it will perform in multiclass event? If I make Group 1 and group 3 race won't gr3 cars have huge boost to keep up with group 1?
The Gr.1 cars are too fast for the Gr.3 to keep up. That‘s with the Gr.1 cars at PP799, from my Sardegna setting.

I’ve got a Gr.1(2 GR010), GT3(13) and GT4(5) field at Barcelona. 5 laps. Rolling start. BOP Off.

Edit: The GR010 was actually stock. Not set for Sardegna.

Shelby 350R

I was thinking about Camaro SS and Mustang GT, but i feel that Shelby and ZL1 looks better and more like Gen3 Supercars. But SS and GT could be used as Natural Aspirated V8 supercars which is closer to real thing.

I also used the 350R. The mustang doesn't seem to handle as good as the camaro so far due extreme engine torque, although the video of me driving the mustang vs the AI says otherwise... The rubber banding is terrible also, but I think it has something to do with the fact it is a 3 lap race. If I made it a 30 lap race, the rubber banding would be less noticeable. For the first lap the camaro pulled away (not on the video attached sadly!)

Yesterday I decided to create new class for Custom races. Class is loosely based on V8 SuperCars Gen3 but decided to Supercharge V8 engines instead of natural aspirated since Camaro ZL1 is SS from stock :) For now both cars are around 730 PP so they are on par with GT3 cars but have less downforce and more power.
I am still considering making new camaro ZL1 since i overtuned it a little too much and needed to use Power limiter.
Also I am considering throwing Dodge Challenger Hellcat to the mix just for fun and make it more "american V8 supercars"

What do you think about this idea?
Here is photo of Mustang and Camaro I created. Liveries not mine. But couldn't resist using those stock Gen3 skins.

PS. One of the biggest advantages of this class is relatively low cost and effort. Both cars are in brand central for around 80k credits. So it is very easy to complete 20 cars set.

Seems I'm not the only one having a blast with these cars! I'm too also a fan of these two, plus the Hellcat can hold it's own too. My cars are close to GT4 specs but they are an absolute blast to drive, check out my liveries for these cars! My favorite custom race is 1-hour at Watkins Glen, all-american cars, mix of my custom GT4s Camaro SS, Mustang GT, Shelby GT350R, Camaro ZL1, Corvette C7 and the Hellcat. Pure bliss!

My ZL1 and GT350R

I think camaro's better handling is beacuse it has better front downforce. When you open car customization menu, you will see that Mustang has front spliter set on 90 and camaro on 150. Set both the same and it will be more similar.

I think so. I put it around 24x for a 40 min race, and thought it was the rain that let up and blocked any light.

Spent the whole day doing an offline championship with Gr.3 cars with weak boost, apart from the AI managing ridiculous laptimes it's really fun and while payouts aren't that good (100k/h) it's still the most fun I've had in a long time.
I even put together an excel sheet and track every result for the championship :dopey: If only you could change tracks or save at least grids. Changing cars, names and flags for 19 drivers all the time is a bit annoying

amen

Hold the phone. I just spent a few hours building and setting up my 964 Cup cars. Only purchased RH and IW tyres. Set up a 4 Lap at the Nurb GP. Tyre&Fuel at 1x, weather random and time 30x. Boost Weak. Grid Start. I’m starting P20.

Track was damp at the start. AI pit end of Lap 1. I follow AI into the pit. Since I forgot to select Display All before entering, I had to guess switching tyre options. I didn’t change tyres or add fuel. Paused the game at pit exit and continued racing.
Couldn’t catch the AI ahead and AI behind we’re right behind me the rest of the race.

Watched the replay to see why I couldn’t catch them.

Now, I’ve only known AI to switch to RS after wet conditions, when I’ve purchased RS for certain cars. This is something different.

If I’ve set RS to AI cars before I select them for a race, the AI will revert to the hardest Racing compound on the grid. I stopped purchasing RS tyres for that reason.
What the hell are PD doing?

What are your preferred tire and fuel consumption multipliers?
For me, I set 1x tyre & fuel. The AI burn fuel much faster than I do. Even if I were to pit with the AI, I’d have a shorter fill anyway. So, I leave it at 1x. Haven’t messed around with tyre wear too much.

One thing I've noticed is that the leading AI in drying conditions are almost always always start to check up in some corners for no reason. Whether it be Eau Rouge, the COD, or even some on the Nurburgring, they act like they're passing a car made of air!

What's the AI set to?

ive noticed that in custom races - 20 cars - pro setting - fuel use at x 10 - 8 laps after the 1st pit stop the opposition just go round the track real slow, maybe on fuel saving, some cars not above 45 mph

Are you using Boost?
Boost for multi class racing doesn't work at all somehow. If you have 10 Gr.3 and 10 Gr.4 cars field spread within the first lap is as ridiculous as with Gr.1 and 100pp cars :scared:

Just on weak, and on real slipstream. I want to not fly up the feild, but try and race through it
Haven’t done much top tier racing in multi-class. Mainly stick to the lowest tier and become a rolling road block to the faster AI cars.

Edit: @Nuschel01 I had the Gr010, GTE/GT3 WEC replica race. Had the stock AI GR010 on standard RMs. Gapped the field like the real race cars.

Ah yeah I might've worded it wrong. I meant that even field spread within the classes was crazy, no fun at all when in the slower cars when every other car in your class barely goes like 150kph on the straights :banghead:

Were you racing in the lower class then? I find the AI in Gr4 stick together find when I race in the Gr3 class (with boost set to weak). If I use a Gr4, then the Gr4s are brutally slow and I can race the Gr3s in my Gr4.. :ouch:

Yeah exactly, I was in a Gr.4 car as well.

Are you using Boost?
Are you using boost for the opponents to keep up with you? or for you to keep up w/ the opponents? I'm still experimenting w/ racing the AI on different lengths and learning their fuel strategy but they seem to only use the Max Fuel Map and I crush them on any race that involves more than one pit stop.

It still baffles me why some of you good Guys like you @Nuschel01 around here simply refuse to listen.
A few Weeks ago I posted and precisely explained HOW to make the AI a true and real challenging Experience.
Some have listened and reported back and confirmed my Observations.
@Nuschel01 and @A_Higher_Place
I can guarantee both of you and prove it if the Game would just allow me to upload my Replays.
With the Settings I posted the Racing becomes real.
Multiclass Racing, GT4 or GT3 especially Road Cars and Super Cars Racing become such a joy that it’s beyond me how some People STILL refuse to listen and claim that Racing the AI is Trash.
It’s NOT.
Never ever.
I‘m a decent Driver not the quickest but reasonably fast.
I‘m probably amongst the most fair trustworthy and clean Drivers in GT and I assure you Guys that until this Point, I have already captured and saved roundabout 40 Race Replays racing against the AI.
All 30 Minutes Endurance Races.
All different Car Types, Classes and at almost EVERY Track in this Game.

NOT ONCE, not a single one will you see the AI wrecking, pushing, punting, I assure you you will even have to look for a SINGLE CONTACT the AI or me have made.
All of the Races are clean as a Whistle.

I GUARANTEE you if I’d swap the Driver Names with Real World Online IDs of top tier Players you mostly couldn’t tell if it’s AI or not.
Besides a few unnecessary and odd Braking Spot Habits the AI uses, which by the way are far far less than in regular Single Player Mode it looks damn real.

And don’t get me wrong I believe you what you tell about your Experiences racing the AI.
BUT!!! it’s definitely all and ONLY down to your Settings.

Have you Guys even tried my Settings?!

I posted them in the hope to share and provide some valuable and proven information, to make the Game enjoyable for ALL of us.
For us who enjoy the Single Player Side of GT. For the Nostalgia.
I could have kept them for myself. But why.

I read so much nonsense about GT AI even from Players I respect a lot and I don’t bash them for claiming false Information.
They unfortunately haven’t tried or simply refuse to test for themselves what I told.

It’s incomprehensible.

The AI in GT7, once the Race Setup is being set up correctly and exactly to match YOUR PACE, it becomes a REAL AND TRUE Challenge.
With phenomenal Results of AI Behavior.

It’s IMPOSSIBLE that any average Joe like me will still be able to fly through the Field or win a Race if starting last.
If you aim for Contact Free and realistic Driving on Track it’s not possible.
Like in a real Race or online Race you just can’t win starting last in a 20 Car Field and expect to Win when everyone around you is running at approximately the same Pace you are capable of.
It DEFINITELY is only down to the Settings.

I mean, it’s up to you but unfortunately you and same as many others just simply refuse to listen for whatever unknown Reason 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can you link me to whatever you use to upgrade the AI? I haven't fully read through the 9 pages of text and am checking this forum out for the first time within the last 30 minutes.

I did an hour I believe or maybe it was two hours.. But I was GR 3 and I was able to beat all the GR 2's. I could not beat the GR 1's. This was no boost. Professional difficulty. BOP was on. My experience beating GR 4 also goes for beating GR 3's as well. All of this only works when doing endurance races with multiple pit stops. The AI definitely slows down big time after the first few laps and don't have any fuel conservation strategy it seems.
