Love some of these new swaps. Been hoping for a LS9, LT1, LT4, or LT5 swap for the C4 for ages now. Having some low rpm power in that thing will make it a much better cruiser now.

Dear Famine, it's possible to you put the engine's price on the first post's list? Would be of great help!
It would be static for donor cars available from Brand Central, but, assuming they ever resume dynamic pricing in the LCD/Hagerty's (we're 2+ months overdue), not static for donor cars from Hagerty's.

It is relatively easy to figure out the purchase price - it is half the cost of the donor car, plus 100,000 Cr. for installation.

Also, @Famine, you might want to update the updated info.

Please tell me it's Mustang engines in the Chevys and Chevy engines in the Mustangs 😂

EDIT: it is not, new swaps below. 1 new engine by the looks, Windsor 351.

GT350R gets the "Windsor-351-Maverick" from the new Ford Maverick, cost 250k

C4 corvette gets the LT5-Corvette-C7

Z28 Camaro gets the LT4-Camaro (139,750cr)

Boss 429 gets the voodoo-5.2l-GT350R

SHELBY GT350 gets the voodoo-5.2l-GT350R

Not the most interesting of swaps I must admit, but that's just me. I was rather hoping that at least one of the Fords would take something different like the Ecoboost V6 from the GT (either the road car, or full GTE LM '18 version). Would certainly shake things up if they did.

In fact, I think th Cobra would be a great candidate for an Ecoboost V6 🤔.

That's the kind of talk that gets you on the wrong end of a .44 Magnum 🤣
What can I say, living life on the edge . Besides, it's always fun to wind up the purists :P.

Joking aside, it's each to their own and all that, but I hold no shame in saying I prefer the soundtrack of the Ecoboost V6 ('18 GT LM especially). Plus it would be interesting to see if/how much lighter the Cobra could be with such a powerplant. I accept to being in the minority here, but that's fine.

The Boss 429 is probably my favorite car of all-time...I just love the looks of the '69-'70 Mustang. I know the voodoo isn't allowed to make the overall power of the 429 but it's still gonna be cool swapping that voodoo into that body. I love the sound of the full race exhaust voodoo and it's 9k+ redline. It's gonna be cool having a high-revving small block in that car. I already kinda have an idea of how I'm gonna make it look....I plan on popping some cobra badges on the side (found a real nice looking cobra emblem that really does the trick), throwing some twin racings stripes ala the shelby gt350r and I'm thinking a grabber blue for the color with flat black stripes.

Im still surprised the only "LS" non LT swap in American vehicles is the trans am.
We LS everything.

I wouldn't have minder it, if it was for the Sil80 or even a Subaru
They could easily take the LS route, but then a lot would complain.

Personally, if they really wanted to make a statement and have fun with the swaps, the mustangs should get chevy swaps, and the vette should get a viper swap.

Seen plenty of street drags put chevy power in fords. The viper swap is just for laughs.

and not because the banshee is a c4 in GTA vice city.

Mustang boss 429 should get windsor maverick engine not voodoo engine imo. Such a wasted opportunity
I also thought the SR20 doesn't fit the S30/Z432 (also note that the other two Wangan Midnight cars, the 930 and R32 V-spec II, got race engine swaps).

Missed oppprtunity.

The XJ220 Prototype was originally 4WD with the same V12 unit from the XJR-9 Group-C monster.

But due to the ever-famous recessions in the UK, the XJ220 was instead RWD and V6 in production.

If only PD had the 2 neurons needed to realise this and allow us to swap the obvious XJR-9 V12 into the XJ220, where it basically belongs...

EDIT: Also we get the massive fuel tank from the XJR-9, making it useful for longer races

This might come later, we'll see. PD is unpredictable

My comments regarding each suggestion

Writing things like that should be automatic 5 year ban from car games 😈🙃.
Well if you knew even half of the engine swap builds i’ve made in NFS Heat & Unbound, I think I would be tried for Automotive Blasphemy and High Treason.

But as an actual suggestion for the Cobra with some actual historical basis for it, how about the Dodge Viper V10?

I mean they did do Carroll Shelby edition Vipers after all. :P

Is it the tank we get with race car engine swaps? I thought it was the exotic low friction parts in the engine that makes it good on gas, but a tank makes more sense given how much more efficient they are in practice. But it doesn't make sense from a weight point of view. An endurance size fuel cell is massive weight gains, and we don't get that with swaps.

Originally the XJ220 was supposed to be 4wd too.
But yes, i would like to c that swap too.

Other Cobra Swap candidates:
  • Audi Group B 5 Cylinder
  • K20
  • 4 Cylinder from the Ford Focus RS
  • 3 Cylinder from the GR Yaris
  • F40 V8 (to annoy everyone)

Or, the 289 Hi Po from the '66 G.T. 350. Yes, slower but the weight savings off the nose would improve the handling considerably. And, I think most of the real world Cobra racecars are 289s.
