I won the LT4 recently (was extremely surprised lol) and put it in the TVR to make a classic tried and tested American V8 in a lightweight British chassis car. Its okay but I need to work on the tune still for sure. For a street car using sport tyres she puts the power down quite well. I'll be kicking myself for sure though if they make that engine compatible for a Japanese car to make a drift missle with
madmyk has a base tune (no swap) for it that I found pretty nice, might take a gander for inspiration.

When you do an engine swap, some of the cars seem to go further on fuel than they did before. One example being the RX7/8,these can be done on a non stopper on tokyo or just a tyre stop on Lemans 30minutes,is this a glitch or has it always been this way?

The swaps that come from "race ready" cars are more fuel efficient.

Bmw Z4, lexus Sc430, nissan vk45, and mazda 787b for example- came from race cars.

get better economy than the

Mazda 13b, toyota 2jz, nissan vr38, and chevrolet brz' ls7, which are road cars, get horrible fuel economy regardless of actual engine size-
1.3L, or 7.0L, they drink lol 😆

Makes sense, the engine swap RX7 seems like it can go forever on a tank of fuel. 👍

My 6.5 litre LT1 C7 Stingray that I made for the Le Mans 700 event is great on fuel (compared to what else I've used anyway), can do 3 laps of Sarthe on fuel map 1 (keeping in the peak powerband at all times too), 4 laps on a combo of 1 at the start of straights for 2/3 gears then 6 for the rest of it, or 5 laps on just 6 (with minor shorrt shifting). Even my NA Z4 GT3 swapped E46 is only slightly better at a similar power level. I tuned it in a way that doesn't shift the power band upwards (avoided racing crank, engine balance tuning, and high lift cam), then power restricted it down to 395 hp @ 5500rpm, 480 lbs-ft @ 3100rpm to keep the low end gains and give an almost ruler flat peak powerband through each gear.

It absolutey smokes the Gr.4 cars in that race, so much more top end as its a low downforce build too, hitting 195mph before the first chicane sometimes before braking for dear life :nervous::lol:.

"Big" engines aren't necessarily bad on fuel compared to "smaller" engines with similar peak power numbers IRL too. Just search youtube for Eco Corvette or something like that and you'll see what I mean ;)

Newbie to GT7.
So far learnt stash tickets for after update.
But that's to try get a different engine ticket. If there are duplicates

I’m going to drop the LT-5 into my Corvette C7 Convertible 69 , i want to see if it can compete in the WTC 700 races, has anybody on this forum tried this, and how’s does it fare against the Gr.3 ?.

Honestly, did not notice a difference in fuel consumption. Iirc, 3 laps is max on FM6 at Sarthe before and after swap.

I just dropped the LT1-Corvette in the Mazda Roadster ND which increased its weight from 990 kg to 1100 kg. Power stats increased drastically as expected but the weight balance stayed 53:47, same as the stock ND. 😲 Surely this must be a bug?

edit - this is already the 4th swap I did (in 4 different cars) and never have I seen the weight balance being affected.

Which:confused::confused: race gives one the best chance at a six tkt for a motor?
Officially it's to do with your collector level, the higher that is the more chance you have of getting higher star tickets. But having been 50 (max level) with over 120,000 xp I still more often than not get 3 or 4 star tickets... 🤷‍♂️

Probably a race right after an update. I've been at lvl 50 since it first came out basically. I get 90%+ 3 & 4-star tickets and to be honest, I've probably gotten 1-S part in the last two updates? It's a joke. A joke I come back to every day wishing I had more time to game lol

Won my first engine Yay ........... oh it fits a 65 Mini Cooper ok .......full tune later OMG this thing is nuts , hit's 180mph on the main straight at the green hell . Slung on some inters and yup that idea to make this car a German brand wasn't a good idea . Schwarzwald League is now a lot of stupid fun :D

Yep, it would be nice to choose whatever engine we see fit for whatever car, based on our oen unique needs and tastes, but I think that makes too much sense for PD to do that
Shame really imagine if they let you also mess with the drivetrain , a 4WD Supercharged Hellcat engine in a Mini might be fun :dunce:

Please god no, that is too much like Forza Horizon, with everyone running AWD-swapped hypercars. Heresy, a step too far.
Just let us buy the engines (or a engine ticket).

** I mean for the rare daily races online that allow tuning, anywhere else in single or multiplayer let chaos reign, people should be able to go nuts if they wish. **

Just bought this game 2 days ago and sad to see the only engine swap the 370z can get is the De engine🤨… then I have to win the casino to even get the chance to test it out smh.
You will probably get a duplicates of engines you dont want before you obtain the swap for the 370z.

Plus, you have to grind to lvl32, and own the appropriate cars for the cafe menu engine tickets. Believe there are 3 guaranteed engine tickets in the Café after the most recent update.

The odds of you getting an engine ticket from daily mileage are slim to none. Especially if your below lvl 50.

I got a long way to go then 🥺, I just hit level 16 but I’m enjoying my 650 whp Z, just wish I could get it into the 800 range but maybe I can buy the nitrous and use that to get the power I want.

It's actually level 20 where there is a 1% chance of getting an engine ticket, with level 15-19 having a 0.67% chance, and any level beyond that doesn't improve the odds any.

The odd thing is that source has a 2% chance of getting a 1-star and a 2% chance of getting a 2-star at or above level 20, but I haven't seen one on either of my accounts since 1.17 hit back in June.

Something about the Coyote swap for the Pantera, it's practically perfect.

Easily cheeses the 550 clubman+ events with 98 percent power output. Little heavy on the brakes to keep it on track, though.
The Coyote engine is crazy powerful in real life, too. It pulls my F-150 up to speed with no effort at all.

I'd say it's a nice compromise that some 4WD cars can get some real nice engines, like the GT-R Nismo engine getting put into the Lancia Delta, or the 2JZ-GTE into the Toyota GR Yaris.

Any engine within reason 🤣. Like for e.g for a Toyota GT86, we should be able to choose from at least:

1. GR86 engine
2. SR20
3. 2JZ
4. LS7,9
5. LT1,4,5.

All of these easily fit in real life and would give us our own choice. I love the idea of making a GT86 drift car and using the amazing powerband, and NA / supercharged lag-free LS / LT power in a small, lightweight Japanese car like this. If someone else wants to make a high power GT86 drift car and wants to punch people who do LS swaps square in the jaw, then they can do a 2JZ or SR20 swap instead 🤣

Please god no, that is too much like Forza Horizon, with everyone running AWD-swapped hypercars. Heresy, a step too far.

I agree that swaps can be a bad thing, I would have loved it if they actually give us a choice of engines to put it each car as long as its realistic but then limited the amount of engines we can buy per x amount of time to stop it being too saturated (although PD royally messed that up with the ticket glitch didn't they? 🤦‍♂️).

Speaking of drivetrains though, it's very interesting how although compatibility is so limited, many of the swaps we get don't make much sense, like putting a 2JZ in a GR yaris, but keeping the stock AWD system as if the 2J is transversely mounted (LOL). Or, even better, the MR2 not being able to get the transverse K20C1 swapped in, but the longitudinally mounted R8 V8 instead.

I was thinking engine swaps were gonna limited to just obvious / one make ones like K20C1 in EK9s, LT4 & 5 in older and lesser spec Corvettes, VR38s in Skylines, etc. That would have been very limited but at least made sense, any engine in anything regardless of car layout etc would have been too mad but at least gave us options.

PD managed to give us something that is BOTH limited and crazy together 🤦‍♂️. At least if I ever need some oil and water mixed together I know who to call! 🤣🤣🤣

Drivetrains i couldn't care less about. :sly:
Let me just hook up a 6 speed gearbox to those cars with an engine upgrade.
