Yet a delay doesn't always guarantee that you won't get a half-assed game.Because we don't want a Half-assed game again.

Are you nuts? Have you seen the trees, man? This game is doomed if it comes out now. I'm happy to wait another "7"(seven) years if it means the trees will finally look 3D. After 29 years, we'll have some good trees to look at, while doing 160mph( through a tunnel of course). My mind will be at peace.
You sure that's not Gran Turismo 2?View attachment 987601 These trees look 3D to my eyes

I think that i have explained myself wrong. I don't want other delay. I want to play GT7 now (or to have more information as minimum). What i wanted to say is that PD don't be in a hurry when doing GT7. I want a real GT7, not a GT Sport 2.0 (Although GT Sport i like a lot)GT fans: so, GT7 will be ready in 2021?
Kazunori: well, yes but actually no.
Seriously, i think that GT7 will be ready in the second half of 2021, but i prefer that Polyphony delay GT7 some months for make the GT that they promised us: a Gran Turismo with many cars, with a good single player mode...
Yes, it’s a screenshot I took from the GT7 trailerYou sure that's not Gran Turismo 2?
More than anything else, graphics are PD's magnum opus so when something like this stands out as bad, it really stands out as bad. People generally (probably unfairly) have an expectation of an exceptional looking game from PD at any point during gameplay with the level the PS5 is at now so it's going to be called out when those expectations aren't met. If it were a game like Assetto Corsa or iRacing, probably no one would care because the assumption is that much of the system's power is going to the physics engine.I love how obsessed everyone is with trees in a racing game.
I'm pretty sure there was motion blur during the gameplay part if the announcement trailer also you can activate motion blur in GTS if you prioritize frame rate iirc. So that improves the sense of speed quite a bit imo.I honestly dont see much wrong with the tree models as they are. They could use some volume around each tree to give the illusion of a proper forest but honestly that's it.
I want them to give the user a better sense of speed instead of having them rely on audio and visual (speed-o-meter) cues. At 120+ mph trees shouldn't look high res, and anything past 180mph, everything will be a blur.
It's one of the best games I've ever played. I didn't have any issues playing it on PS4. Bugs or not, you cannot deny that it's great game with plenty of things to do and a compelling story. Up to this point I've been playing it for 76 hours total over the course of 1 month - I didn't expect to play it for as long as I have. People's perception of the game seemingly ignores the fantastic and compelling concept and that's a real shame.Yet a delay doesn't always guarantee that you won't get a half-assed game.

It’s been 3 years since the last game? And delaying a game doesn’t guarantee it’ll be good???

3 years isn't even average of enough dev time
Took 3 years for GT Sport, and what did it launch with?
So what’s the average development time for a GT game? I’ll wait
GTS took 4 years, and in case you didn’t realise, they kinda redid all the assets? Hence why the game was much lighter in content compared to GT6
My Thoughts.👍Honestly, I'm fine with the second half. I want GT7 to be a finished next-gen product so be it.
Deleted my comment. Was trying to be funny but not sure I was.Honestly, I'm fine with the second half. I want GT7 to be a finished next-gen product so be it.
Average GT development is 3-5 years
In First half year, there wont change the Situation sifnificantly, so the second half is the only possible option. So Bad as it Sounds.I don't see point to rush with release of the GT7 when they cannot reach enough supply of PS5.
When situation with consoles stabilise, then would be right moment for GT7 to launch.
The average time between releases is just under 3 years, however the development time could be longer or shorter as that depends when development start not when the previous game released. The only GT games that’s took more than 4 years to develop were GT1 and 5 - how is the average 3-5 years?
But the thing is the trees don’t even look bad, and I mean for me atleast I could care less about how the trees look as long as they’re green and look like trees. I won’t notice the difference racing and many others won’t either. The average player doesn’t care about how trees look. They care about car models graphical quality in general.More than anything else, graphics are PD's magnum opus so when something like this stands out as bad, it really stands out as bad. and here we go with this conversation again lol
I think becuse it's the most predominant element on most tracks, having good modeled trees it boosts a lot the image quality of the game imhoI love how obsessed everyone is with trees in a racing game.

And yet the PS5 could never handle ACC on max settings, so this really isn’t a fair comparison. Also, you’re comparing a PC game that’s been released and perfected for a while now to the first trailer for the game. Honestly, I’m not sure what issue you’re seeing with the trees in that image either. The textures aren’t the best but they don’t look horrible either. I think we’re really nitpicking at this point.I think becuse it's the most predominant element on most tracks, having good modeled trees it boosts a lot the image quality of the game imho
Honestly here not only the trees looks really badb(especially the trees on the left) but also the track surface textures seems pretty old gen and poor. Even a low budget game like ACC looks more advanced in the graphics department in comparision honestly. I was expecting more from Polyphony
