The weather is still completly random...

I had three races yesterday, and I got no rain at all, a little rain in lap 3 and 4 and heavy rain from lap 3 til the end...

And, as you have seen in some real life videos posted here: this behavior is realistic and does happen in real races as well!

When and where did GT say that ?
My problem for example with this is just that the weather radar doesn’t help a lot because of the long laps on Le Mans and sped up time of day change. This combined with the now heavily increased tire wear out on the Intermediates (and rain tires too i guess, haven’t tried it), creates a situation that is not very realistic, but very frustrating in my opinion.

I never had this problems with the radar...I normally switch on the radar one lap before i plan to enter the pits and keep a close watch on how it develops(important:zoom a far out as possible-otherwise you don't see enough!), and then based on these observations I select the tires for the next stint...in 19 out of 20 races my selection works out perfectly with this method..

The intermediates still last for up to 3 laps, but yes, they do wear out faster than before, so the 3rd lap will need more careful driving though...(most if the cases I do usually 2 lap stints with the IMs, so its not a big problem for me...)

Have we found out yet if GT7 does support 3 monitors?
No not yet. I don't think a formal answer has been given. I personally haven't found anything to support the claim.

Is it just me or did they massively reduce the effect of raindrops on the glass? 😕 I practically do not see any big drops during heavy rain.
I noticed this the second they reduced the particle effects a few weeks after they released the game. I was still on PS4 at the time.

Even on PS5 now I don't see any particles

Totally dry race at Le Mans was followed by what looked like a dry race at Spa. This race is now fuel limited rather than tyre limited. I like the new tyres. It started raining with yellow weather incoming so I hit the pits for wets. There were 15 minutes to go. After the rain stopped my rears went to 50% in two laps where the track was still at inter level. Luckily it was the last lap. My McLaren F1 '97 doesn't handle as well anymore. Looks like an upgrade to tune is necessary.

This kind of strategy is good and I do it also like this, but when you see rain clouds on the radar near the end of a lap, you go in to the box then and put rain/ intermediates on just to see the clouds pass by after it and there’s no rain at all, it sucks because these tyres wear out like nothing now after the update. I don’t know if it’s my racing style, but Intermediates didn’t even last for 2 laps in my last race.
And there’s the problem for me at Le Mans: the tyres wear out 6x quicker, the weather is developing much faster than in irl because the time is sped up, but the laps still take as long as they do all the time, and with long laps like in Le Mans, it creates a situation that isn’t anywhere realistic and is frustrating at times (at least for me). Not that it’s impossible or very hard, I’m nitpicking a little bit here, but I don’t know, I don’t like it like that, with Intermediates wearing out that quick now, it’s all a bit unbalanced for me.

Would be cool if we could use our “International B” licence to drive this. :sly::lol:

We are looking for drivers who will join us in the Fuji 24 Hours! ! Recruitment conditions: International Class B or higher license holder and FL5 owner Entry method: "Reply comment" to this post Selection result announcement: April 17 (Monday)

Yup, in the 30min Le Mans race you can often pit for inters or wets at the end of a lap because you see heavy rain clouds rolling in only to find clear skies when you come out of the pits a minute later.

Before the update you can still limp along on inters for a lap. Now, not so much.

I think they wanted to fix that, because previously inters would do like 3 laps on almost dry/full dry just fine there. Now you need to consider pitting again, even though it takes a lot of time. I don't mind that really, seems more realistic. Although ofc very amplified with higher tire wear at WTC700 Le Mans.

If they wanted to make it more realistic then perhaps they should consider slowing down the weather progression or maybe allow us to, I dunno, see the weather map when we're pitting.

For G29 users, do you all experience an obvious reduction in FFB torque? Pre 1.31 I had it at 7 and oversteer meant an instantaneous, snappy response from the unsettled car. Countersteering and that “fighting the car” feeling was such good fun especially around Nurb. Now that “snap” from the torque has been neutered.

Pre 1.31 I also had FFB sensitivity at 6, but as some have suggested setting FFB sensitivity at 2-3 gives more “dynamic” FFB and more detail mid-corner and on kerbs/grass. The sacrifice however is how centered and sprung the wheel feels mid corner. I appreciate this extra “dynamic”detail and it’ll probably grow on me, but the reduction in torque is really bumming me out.

Can any G29 users chime in?

PD is trolling us with this April Fool’s joke. 🤣

Exactly this👍
It’s cool when they get the Intermediates and Rain tires more realistic, but when they do that, they also have to adjust other aspects too.
I have the feeling they wanted to bring these changes into the game quickly because of Olympics maybe, but it isn’t all well thought out

Yeah this is a good suggestion. The weather progression is a bit too fast most of the time on this race, much more forgiving on Spa 1 hour, so you have more time to decide what tires you should be on.

7 torque is waaaay too high for the wheel. I run it at 3 torque 10 sens and seems fine, don't like running higher torque than that because then the wheel has that strong centering effect on the middle instead of feeling smooth.

Ok lets play scenario (Just for Fun) I'm doing the 30 Minute race right now and I'm on lap 5 and coming up on the pit entrance and looking at the weather radar there's heavy rain in coming. Would you pit for IM or take the chance on RH .

I know what I did and it was the right .:)

I also play on G29, I prefer a stiffer turn in, I don't want my car to feel too soft to handle. I use FFB torque at 6. FFB sensitivity at 3, sometimes 2. Controller sensitivity at 0-2, depending on car, usually 0. With these settings I still find good pace, but yes you may need to muscle the wheel around a bit more than with more sensitive settings.
