Anyone having problems with FFB on a T300rs?
I have the torque set to 1 and controller sensitivity (which shouldn't matter) set to 1 as well and there's too much wheel now around corners and everything was fine w my firmware before 1.31. Any car on default settings wants to grind into the track also.
If I go into the control panel of my wheel itself, poly-d overrides this and it feels the same.
 
Around every 3 months seems to be their schedule for completely new tracks so I don't even think about it until that time comes around, next month or even June in this case.
 
It's a no brainer that tracks take even longer than cars to model, some tracks that we have now were already in their minds since GT Sport, or Matterhorn only being able to make it in GT6 instead of 5.

It's odd to see a new car rumored only recently directly associated with a potential new track (not just here, but non-stop in other places aswell) whilist being so oblivious of the work involved to build one let alone with the level of quality they're pushing for, while GV has just been released.

It's the reason we're getting additional track layouts instead - they're only ever working on one single track until it is fully ready, and those take several months if not a full year. I would imagine they planned ahead like they did by pushing 3 of their tracks they've had in store for a while in such a short time period (1 year), and I would also imagine that it would take significantly more time to get anything new in that regard for now.

Funnily enough, there was a higher race event output in all three of the previous online GT games. GT 5 & 6 alternated Seasonal weeks of 3-4 events and 2+2 time+drift trials. A GT Sport update usually added a new event card or two to the GT League, which pretty much always contained a minimum of 3 races, and numerous other cards would get an additional 1-2 race expansions, usually including a new track from the update.

This stuff is by far the easiest thing to add in the game, it’s pretty much just an input/output spreadsheet of track/lap/opponent/time/weather conditions. The most time consuming aspect of it is the photoshop/graphic work necessary for the event card design itself, but any developer worth their salt at a first-party AAA studio could churn out several if not dozens of those in a day.

I'm using 4/2 based upon some advice in this forum but there are other suggested variations e.g. 4/1 and 3/2, as well.
 
I wonder if we can ever get some touge track in GT7 or GT series at all. Don't think any GT game had anything similar, which is kinda weird, considering its importance to japanese car culture. Would be useless for World Cup races, but I can only imagine how popular it would be for 1v1 online races. Can also be a great addition for Missions tab.

On the discussion of new tracks.

I think that the addition of new circuits does not follow exact mathematics in Gran Turismo, but it is possible to analyze the context of the situation. In eight months, from June to February, PD added three circuits, Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta and Grand Valley. In the year of release of Forza 8, during the year 2023, despite different platforms, it is more than normal to speculate that PD can accelerate its content addition program and launch at least four circuits, or at most six.

It is logical that Polyphony does not dispute the number of sales with Turn 10, but Sony and Microsoft dispute the commercial reputation of who has the best-selling, most awarded, most loved racing game. This is important for both corporations.

As for the production of circuits by PD, in every large company there is a detailed schedule of production and launching of products, which is idealized years in advance.

In this way, it is possible to believe that the last three circuits added were already on schedule and being produced by PD for years, so that the next ones that will be added this year also follow a long and laborious schedule. The fact that we added the Grand Valley in February does not mean that we will not have a new circuit in the coming months or only after long months or a year.

I'm saying that production on Grand Valley was not completed days before its release in January, nor did PD start producing a new circuit after Grand Valley was released. PD should already have two or three circuits ready and finalized to be launched in 2023. PD should just wait for the right day of the updates schedule, while its team should already be working on circuits for the end of 2023, for 2024 even for Gran Turismo 8.

Ok lets play scenario (Just for Fun) I'm doing the 30 Minute race right now and I'm on lap 5 and coming up on the pit entrance and looking at the weather radar there's heavy rain in coming. Would you pit for IM or take the chance on RH .

I know what I did and it was the right .:)

Basically it is pointless to make that decision when you only see one single picture...

Basically I start to watch the radar one lap before I plan a pit stop at Le Mans in the WTC 700 race, so I can observe if rain is coming, how much it will be, how fast it moves(the speed of the weather approaching you is not always the same) and where it moves to...another point to consider: how well does your car handle the rain without the appropirate tires(4WD cars do that better, but also certain FR cars can handle driving in the rain with wrong tires better than others...)

But to answer the question, based on only this single picture and without knowing the exact direction of the weather-movement and without knowing which car I am driving, I would switch to IMs(and with only 2 laps remaining I can set FM to 1 in pretty much all the cars, so the IMs will be quite quick anyway)...the track is wet already and will get wetter, and it is only two more laps to go, so the IMs will last for two laps even if the heavy rain doesn't hit...
 
7 torque is waaaay too high for the wheel. I run it at 3 torque 10 sens and seems fine, don't like running higher torque than that because then the wheel has that strong centering effect on the middle instead of feeling smooth.
I’d have to disagree, I actually have the opposite setting rn and have 10 torque and 3 sensitivity. The other way around just makes the wheel feel like a limp toy imo, the irl wheel in my ‘19 Mazda3 is in a way even stiffer than those settings.

But yes I have read that past certain settings the G29 clips and it’s difficult to get accurate feedback. But higher torque just feels better to me in terms of receiving pronounced feedback of the car’s behavior from your inputs. Then again, I’ve never tracked a car before and have only owned the DFGT and G29, so I’m not the most qualified here. Maybe if PD won’t hotfix this I’ll just have to adapt to this new G29 FFB and keep optimizing my settings 🤷

It's PD, maybe they need to hardcode the event for each individual AI car. Would explain why 80% of the new events added since release have single digit lap counts.
I believe a dataminer (maybe Nenkai) discovered that individual AI cars have different boost values assigned to them. I can't put it past them that they're spending a lot of time trying to cleverly script these races instead of just letting the AI race authentically on its own to save time.
 
Just to add, not just to scripted AI, but some of this too cautious programming. I mean, AI, in certain cars, will literally stop at the dipper, on Mount Panorama. It is a complex part of the circuit with a High speed section into a hard braking point into an off-camber entry, into a tight corkscrew, with no room for error. However, AI seem to do pretty well at Laguna Seca.

PD did do a bit of adjusting AI between Reid and Sulman Parks. The AI would slam on The brakes, but now(been about six months or more), just tap the brakes. Much better, but could be improved. That section only requires a lift of the throttle. Then again, PD equate lifting of the throttle to riding The brake pedal.

Um... Well I didn't pit and it was right cause by the time what you see in that picture came over the track it turn into a light rain not enough to effect anything so I would had just lost alot of time pitting for IM for a track that didn't get wet.

Thinking of it I have'nt been to Le man in a few days now. :lol:

What I did overlook...your tank was rather full.I usually have to pit after lap 5 anyway(...going usually for a stop strategy).And I also didn't know your position in the race at that moment...
But that's why I like this race...unless you use a meta car, you have to adjust your strategy and can't run the same strategy in every race...

That has been true for all past GT's, AI cars often ran with settings unavailable to the player, and varied race to race. I would expect that it's the norm for all racing games with AI opponents.

I think I've done this before, but I think I had some new stuff to add, plus I wanted to keep it a bit more succinct by avoiding obvious stuff like how I know Gr.2 will likely get more Super GT-era GT500 cars, or how Gr.3 will likely get more FIA GT3 cars.

I'm getting the feeling that PD has adopted a strategy of adding racing cars that aren't too expensive to license. The older and more obsolete the cars are, I assume the cheaper their licenses are.

The most modern and current racing cars, such as the Ferrari 499P and the Porsche 963, must be very expensive, and because of this, PD is consciously neglecting them. This, due to several factors, especially as they are also being coveted by rival PD production companies.

I would say it's easier for PD to add more Group C cars, GT1 cars from the 90's and 2000's, some obsolete DTM cars like Audi RS5 DTM '19 than to bring in highly modern race cars. With the exception, of course, of Toyota cars, an automaker that has an evident and strong partnership with Polyphony.

So, I'd say it's more plausible that we get the M8 GTE '18 or M3 GTR ALMS '01 than the M4 GT3 '22.

I could be wrong, but I'm getting that feeling due to PD's latest moves with GT Sport and GT7.

As for the circuits, I also agree with what they said pages ago or in another topic. The licensing of the American circuits seems to me to be cheaper than the European and Japanese ones. I've always read complaints about the high prices for licensing European circuits. Suzuka, Mugello, Silverstone and Spa values are said to be prohibitive.

I wonder why? Market culture?

Perhaps Americans have a different view of the market, in which capturing the imagination of the world's racing fans is more important than making immediate cash.

It could also be that the new cars have no stories to tell other than the fact they exist. The older ones included in the game are often tied to their accomplishments or heroric struggles. Perhaps the exception is the varied field of GT3 cars that came with GT Sport to accomodate its FIA theme.

The Ronda one in GT6 was something similar, strange they have not continued with that type of thing when it's 2023 and 2 generations later now. And even weirder that games like Grid, Project Cars, AC have had touge tracks in Japan, but the Japanese game doesn't...

That's highly unlikely. That we received 3 new circuits in a relatively short time is the exception to the rule and not the rule itself. Circuits take a very, very long time to model and any circuits releasing this year will have started development before Turn 10 confirmed the new FM was releasing this year.

Additionnaly, while the games are often compared to one another and considered "rivals" they are not direct competitors as the operate on different hardware so the direct impact on one game based on the current other game is likely to be quite minimal. PD certainly aren't going double the size of the team who model locations just beucase a new FM was around corner.

I agree, and this goes against any notion that they can suddenly pump out two or more times the number of new locations in a given period. These are planned a long, long time in advance. Some of the locations that appear in new GT games started being worked mid-way through the pervious games life. They are long processes.

Of course, they'll be working on several new locations, but as above, each of these lcoations can take well over a year to complete they are most certainly a slow burn.

The content is usually complete for some time before it appears in the game accessible for the players. We know this beucase the data is often included one or several updates prior to it being unlocked. This needs to be the case generally for bug testing etc. but it also allows PD and Sony to schedule the content drops so you don't end up with 1 car in one month and 11 in the next and to hold certain content back for specific occasions etc.

Looks like I've done a total of 65 races in Sport Mode so far, and of that total, 51 of them had me finishing in the top five. Is that a good ratio? That's over 3 out of every 4 races. Over half my races have been clean, too, with a total of 38 so far. For further context, I'm DR B. I also have seven poles and five wins, if that means anything.

The countersteer assistance when it is turned off is back again, on controller.

Not sure if it’s a bug, or intentional, but a while back, they made it so the assist was fully disabled when it was set to off, so I figure it’s either to help with the new physics, or changing the assist presets maybe reverted the change? The physics don’t seem excessively oversteery, though, and while it’s not super intrusive, I do wish I could completely disable it.

Can't speak for the other circuits you mention, but Silverstone can't afford to focus on capturing the imagination over cash - it was pretty much going out of business in 2019 and again (because of Covid) in 2020. It's 'had some more investment' since then, but also quadrupled its debt level. Being in GT is not going to get any significant numbers of ticket sales - it's already the highest profile circuit on this island, and if you live here and are the kind of person that would buy a race ticket, you're already fully aware of Silverstone, and if you've already been there you're might be aware of how bad it is compared to other venues. There's nothing to be gained by them in giving the license away cheap when the value of it attached to F1 titles is likely pretty significant.
