Fully appreciate it takes time to build these cars and tracks, I just hope that there's a healthy amount of events to race these new cars in.

Adding three new events per month just isn't enough for me. Events like the 30 mins Group 1 at Road Atlanta was brilliant, more of those please, not just 3 lap dash around Nurburgring Sprint...

Yep, totally get you want to have some new events around your new layouts, how about adding more than just one event at each...

Trying my best not to sound entitled here, and most likely failing lol

you’re not entitled, it’s an easy fix. the fact is, the phrase “are you sure you don’t want to top up at the PlayStation Store”, almost single-handedly keeps the game from realizing its full potential.

If there are longer, better races none of the people who just bought the game for VR would spend their extra money to purchase cars. I guarantee they just made an enormous amount of that group of players. Whatever they said about not wanting players to grind races, they left out “it’s important for our metrics that you continue spending money after buying the game”. After a year it’s not entitlement or dramatic to point these things out.

It’s a fun game that could be limitlessly entertaining if they didn’t want MTX to be a “good” option for players who value their time / want to drive the cars in the game they bought.

I'm getting the feeling that PD has adopted a strategy of adding racing cars that aren't too expensive to license. The older and more obsolete the cars are, I assume the cheaper their licenses are.

The most modern and current racing cars, such as the Ferrari 499P and the Porsche 963, must be very expensive, and because of this, PD is consciously neglecting them. This, due to several factors, especially as they are also being coveted by rival PD production companies.

I would say it's easier for PD to add more Group C cars, GT1 cars from the 90's and 2000's, some obsolete DTM cars like Audi RS5 DTM '19 than to bring in highly modern race cars. With the exception, of course, of Toyota cars, an automaker that has an evident and strong partnership with Polyphony.

So, I'd say it's more plausible that we get the M8 GTE '18 or M3 GTR IMSA '01 than the M4 GT3 '22.

I could be wrong, but I'm getting that feeling due to PD's latest moves with GT Sport and GT7.

As for the circuits, I also agree with what they said pages ago or in another topic. The licensing of the American circuits seems to me to be cheaper than the European and Japanese ones. I've always read complaints about the high prices for licensing European circuits. Suzuka, Mugello, Silverstone and Spa values are said to be prohibitive.

I wonder why? Market culture?

Perhaps Americans have a different view of the market, in which capturing the imagination of the world's racing fans is more important than making immediate cash.
What many may also fail to realize is the fact that other game may have exclusive rights to those vehicles/ brands .

Pd not having Bentley seems weird considering they took the time to make the speed 8 a premium in GT6 and the Bentley GT3 is pretty popular.

AAC may have also locked up many GT3 cars / liveries .

We don't know what the deal is .

Also don't we have like over 40 events added through DLC ... This game has plenty of events now , the issue is the event's don't pay well / are chase the rabbit .

I can make a better event my self using custom race.
If those new events were chili races would be singing praises ..

If they want my money I would rather pay for dlc every month instead of this credit grind garbage and lack of event.
1.) Don't give them ideas! ;-)
2.) That is never a good model. As not everyone buys the DLCs they couldn't use any DLC cars or tracks for online activities without loosing part of their customers.

There's a more payable run out there & a good YouTube video to show you - its basically Le mans - 700pp - 30 mins race, gets you 825k(inc clean race bonus) using the Honda RA 272, just keep an eye on the weather radar & for the low use gamers it gets you your daily ticket
Agreed, best payout per minute $825,000 for 30 minutes. I opt for the Subaru WRX with hard and wet tires. 6-7 laps and conserve fuel to allow for 1 pit.

Easy win

Actually that part preceded the other bit:
In GT7 I would like for users to enjoy lots of cars and races even without microtransactions. At the same time the pricing of cars is a relevant element that conveys their value and rarity, so I do think it’s important for it to be linked with the real world prices.

I want to make GT7 a game in which you can enjoy a variety of cars in a lot of different ways, and if possible I would like to try to avoid a situation where a player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again.

Ill try that car, any others that are good for this run ?
There are literally dozens of threads on this - and the other two main-earner races - already, and they're really not very hard to find, without turning this thread into one as well.

Try this one:

There are myriad others.

Thank you, you are part of a problem why microtransactions in games exist.

Wasting money on virtual money

Meh, people can spend their money however they want.

As for me, I’ve been shouting from the second story balcony for the better part of a year now, exclaiming, “if PD chose to have an MTX pay schedule that was equivalent to the one they used in GTS, I’d have a couple hundred quid in their pockets by now”.

No shame in my game.

Do you understand the difference between a DLC / add-on and MTX to buy virtual credit ?

I’m quite ok with one, and against the other that’s all my saying, don’t need to be passive aggressive, nothing serious at stakes 😊
Why not be against both? I mean, we’ve all payed roughly $80 for the game, yet PD treats it like a free-to-play title, which I think is rather disgusting tbh.

Because one can be reasonable if not abused by the publishers.

As a consumer I of course would much prefer to pay less and if I can get free DLC then fab. However, decent DLC, DLC which was not created prior to the main games release and held back to be released as DLC and that actually justifies a price is reasonable IMO. So I always prefer the option of free DLC, but I am not against paying for DLC that justifies paying for.

MTX's on the other hand are a cancer to games as far as I'm concerned.

As far as MYX’s are concerned, I’m not against them…. as long as the price-point makes sense. I have not purchased them in GT7 yet (citation needed… I might have…don’t remember), because the price point doesn’t compute. But for me personally, I’m a very time-poor person. Paying for cars I want to drive IG is well worth the $$ value. Mainly because I can tangibly put a price on my time.

But to be fair, I’m in no rush to acquire my dream garage either. I’m in it for the long haul

Is the Audi RS5 Turbo DTM missing the pitstop animation for refueling? It seems like the pit crew just stands around doing nothing for me, unless the camera angle is hiding all the action.

And as a related question, in the real car does anyone know how is the DRS activated? I was looking around the cockpit and didn't see any buttons on the wheel or panels that had any mention of DRS. All the buttons seemed to be labeled for other functions.

Tell me you don’t like car racing, without telling me you don’t like car racing.

The Ferrari 499P and Porsche 963 where only homologated 5 months ago. Until that point they weren't in their final form, so pointless modelling them. That's if PD could even access the cars & data. I've no doubt both models are near the top of the list for inclusion in GT7/8. Much like Toyota and the GR010, Porsche & Ferrari have strong marketing links with Gran Turismo.

There are a vast array of older & historic competition cars. So it's difficult to judge how long these take to bring to the game, once the decision is taken to include them. Given many of these cars are in private hands, often modified/altered from their period correct spec. You could argue it takes much longer to finalise these models, versus a current competition car, with all the data coming from the factory.
My favorite part of new layouts is that PD works on the original circuits and adjusts all the small visual issues.

Nurburgring had a lot of LOD problems fixed or improved in this 1.31 patch.

Le Mans could use a patch like this
Maybe it's the placebo effect. But I was driving on the Nordschleife the other day and was taken aback by how good it looked. I've always been a harsh critic of the vegetation and general trackside detail. But I have no complaints here. I'm convinced PD have been making lots of undocumented nips & tucks to numerous tracks. You often don't notice the changes month-to-month.

As you state, I really hope Le Mans is due an overhaul. Would be ideal to bring this in with new Endurance races and suitable DLC cars.

There is a BIG difference between microtransactions (buying ingame credit/cosmetic upgrades) and actual paid DLC that includes a bundle of content.
I am dead against microtransactions in games but dont mind paying for DLC if it is value for money and actually includes content (HZW: Burning Skies for example).
I'm not saying new cars and tracks should be locked behind DLC in GT7 but if it means we are getting more content than what is being drip fed to us currently...

If microtransactions made GT7 pay-to-win or locked content behind a paywall with no other option of obtaining, then I'd have an issue with it.
In their current form, it's not a requirement to buy them, but a convenience for those that personally view it as worth the transaction.

I've been unaffected by not paying for microtransactions since launch, so I haven't got any problem with them in their current form, nor do I have any problem with those that do use them.

Why is everything on screen shaking when my cars maybe got too stiff springs or running low ride height or going round the banking at Daytona? , double vision or what :)
