Glad to see my prediction of reactions was pretty much spot on :D
So now that the "embargo" is kinda over, can you tell what was that made you sure update was this week? I'd guess you found the screen for this week's weekly challenges with the special event being a Civic onemake and the SiR as the front cover star?

Along the correct lines - I won't spoil the specifics but it was 100% due to this week's special event using an update car.

Confirming the list, don't look if you prefer guessing.

2000 Castrol Mugen NSX
1993 Volvo 240 SE Wagon
2013 Volvo V40 T5
1987 Nissan Skyline GTS-R
1993 Honda Civic SiR-II
Opinions:
  • I think the Volvo wagon will actually be quite fun - almost a GT4 return but a newer version.
  • Volvo V40 T5 being from the datamine is great news that the datamine is still correct at this point, it will be a fun car.
  • Civic SiR-II is a good filler, good tuning options should be available for it.
  • Skyline R31 is a great addition (2nd datamine car) and definitely fills a gap in a line of generations.
  • Castrol Mugen is epic - can’t wait to see the other liveries made and recreate older GT500 championships!

5 CARS?!?
big show GIF

TheAdmiester: here are the cars in a spoiler in case anyone wants to guess.

The rest of the thread: Spoils the whole list within minutes.

It might be worth acknowledging that all of these cars but the 240 have been known to some of us since launch - what people refer to as "the datamine" is an old list that's not totally accurate (think lots of GT3-6 and even TT data that you can be pretty sure isn't coming to GT7) and also missing a lot of info.

The 240 was a genuine surprise that came from what I can best describe as "a reserved slot with no name assigned", and there are a lot more of those still to come.

R31 is 100% coming with a new Skyline event, which is really cool.
My only hope now is that the Castrol Mugen NSX will be the first addition to the '00 JGTC roster (JGTC Diablo please).

Interesting. So GT8 isn't for next month I guess?

Someone posted the first one just the other day saying he wanted that one, must be a happy man 😁 (and I am too !)

Love the 2 !
3 -> cool to see a new brand !
4 -> another one, as far as I am concerned, but some will be happy
5 -> another one, I'd be unable to distinguish all those versions

but hey, 1, 2 and 3 are cool or top !

the list of cars from my grand-fathers is nearly complete 😁 (the cars I knew, not all their cars)
