If the update is next week, that means for the first time in a long time (I think) it's neither on the first or last weeks of the month

Thanks, but with all due respect isn't this also a thread for discussion on the latest news?
Not also, just is.

However, for the people wondering where the last two pages have gone, all the posts from the first silhouette Tweet post onwards discussing the update have now been moved to the indicated update discussion thread. As indicated.

Oh, I see. I didn't realise posts had been moved. I just interpreted it as you telling me to move threads, like talking here anymore was prohibited.

My mistake on the miscommunication. You may delete posts as you see appropriate

Dontcha think that it would be bonkers to have a track in a demo that is not available to race in the full sim?
While I think it would be stupid, I dont think it would be strange.
There have been whole games with a finished but unpolished code that have been scrapped and put together worse and THEN released.
Like, because you seem to like mentioning past games, Unreal Tournament 2003 for example.

People might dislike it, but I love how random the car selection seems to be on these updates, never in a million years I would expect a Jimny being added alongside a 650hp Turbo missile and a electric hypercar

You should expect it, because that’s how it usually goes. Only the Spec II update seemed in tune with most people’s generic expectations, but even that came with a ****** Tesla.

No. Just me driving round Le Mans everyday and then finding the pop in trees were not pop in anymore.
Don't some games use a gradual detail cross-fade to make the pop-in less obvious? I feel like that could be a really nice technical addition to help with immersion.

Can anyone help me? Is there any way to fix PP error so i can get on track with 96 s14? It's swapped, i've tried changing aero parts, tires, nothing works

I wonder how much ps5 pro's are running now because I'm thinking of buying one at the beginning of next year.
Chris...you just sold your PS4, for a fraction of its original price, and now you're looking to buy a PS5 Pro? Where will you get the money?
Maybe when I buy and install gt7 again, the game will load faster, it seemed to run slower on my ps4 console which is weird
Weird how? PS4 is severely outdated and does not have SSD either. PS5 regular is already leagues above PS4.

I just tried the Red Bull X2019 Nations Cup race at Interlagos, using Racing Mediums, and got a clean P3. Which is good enough for the Bonus Menu but I wanna aim for gold, and I did notice that I had a sizable amount of tread left at the end, so I'm definitely thinking I'll try it again using the Racing Softs. Any thoughts?

Funny enough, I am attempting this Bonus Menu right now after getting the car from FINALLY golding this. I'll eventually get to it and see if I can find a decent strategy but if its anything like what I just tryed at Trial Mountain, Push hard and outlast the soft runners.

Actually,

ALL races that have tire wear have those rates lowered down. The fuel consumption conditions stay the same, however.

Which makes them easier than before.

Update @MIE1992 :

Tried and I actually recommend just doing it on Mediums. Going for the push strategy on Softs just destroys them and by lap 8, I had nothing left. Afterwards, I managed to beat it (Had Hizal as the car I had to chase down in my run, though it helped that Miyazono was battling him too)

Can you show proof?

As the game wasn't updated yet, no reason pop in should be reduced...

Render distance can be adaptive these days, not the fixed X range it used to be along with set LODs. The game knows it's frame rate, frame times, and engine loads. With more hardware headroom those adaptions can be pushed further out. If programmed to do so.

(I say LODs but adaptive tessellation may be more relevant since GT has used that since 6)

Interesting. Happen to have a source where this is discussed (adaptive LODing as well as tessalation) ?
In GT7 in VR, the rear of the cars in front pop too dramatically (whole wings disappearing around 15-20m away) for my taste to be only tesselation based...

But might be that LODs trigger adaptively, and these were edge cases where one saw adaptive LODing fail (i.e. Have too high of a load, so it picked multiple LODs apart even though it was short,.I.e. 10-20 m distance only...)

I'm sure it was discussed at the beginning of GT7 but is there any performance difference between a car bought new through brands central or if bought used over the used car dealership with some kilometres on it? For example the GTR R34 that is available on both.

Same performance? Same oil-needs and so on?

Thanks!

With the current state of AI technology, would it be possible and/or feasible for Sony or even PD to develop a sort of “AI referee” to watch over online races and dole out penalties and even black flags for dirty and dangerous driving?

Any AI which doesn't have access to Yellow Flags would be a fine start.

Technologically it’s possible but you need quite a large amount of training material, so it would require a lot of work to collect and process that.
