Probably just a little Gr.3 BOP update before the Manufacturer Series races on the 11th.

On another note, GT7 is still so far away so if anything more than trailer footage from last June and a ballpark release date is shown, I'll be okay with that. Surely they've accomplished something worth teasing in the last almost year and a half, even with COVID impacting their productivity.

I really hope Gr.2 gets expanded, especially with made-for-game racers like we saw for Gr.3. I'd love to see DTM cars get added, but I have a feeling that licensing is too much of a hassle. At the least, I'm hoping the GT500-spec GR Supra (A90) is added.

As for new groups, I'm hoping that there are at least three new groups for race cars - one for older prototypes like the Ford Mark IV, another for older grand tourers like the Shelby Daytona Coupe, and one for the various mid-1950s Le Mans racers, such as the Jaguar D-Type or the Aston Martin DB3S. Those two cars will eventually be joined by two Pebble Beach winners that also raced at Le Mans in that same era, the Maserati A6GCS, and the Cunningham C4-R. I also wonder if the class I had in mind for older prototypes could also be where the Porsche 917 fits in?

This is also before we get into the idea of new rally car classes, as well. I cannot say I'm sure if there's much reason to include modern rally cars, between licensing costs and the fact that most of the current Group B lineup in GT Sport uses modern cars, modified to resemble the real-world Group B. If anything, I'd add a class for rally cars from before the real-world Group B, such as the famous Lancia Stratos rally car.

Then there's the idea of expanding Group B. I think there are tons of potential cars that could be added to Group B, just through real-world Group B cars, such as those from automakers that had notable presence in Group B, but are oddly missing in GT Sport's iteration of Group B, such as those from Lancia, Peugeot, and Renault Sport. For another thing, I think some made-for-game Gr.B cars could be added as well, with one car coming to mind being the modern Porsche 911 Safari.

As for Gr. 2 I would also love to see Group 5 touring cars, as well as that of IMSA GT/GTO. Besides actual Group B rally cars, actual rallycross cars would also fit well in Gr. B.

People already have issues with the Group C cars racing along with modern LMPs, maybe adding a selection of DTMs to a class full of Super GTs might not be the best idea

Modern DTM and GT500 cars are deliberately specced to be close so they can race against each other with mostly minor changes. Not sure if the engines need to be swapped to actually compete in the other competition, but it’s a deliberate move to bring them close together.

Another studio showing proper path for polyphony and gt7 :d
A studio not controlled by Sony noticeably. Also, Anything from Take Two Interactive is really the poorest example you could've chosen at the present time.

EDIT: After further googling I'm leaning towards this not being legit. Spelling errors, and Sony has apparently stated that the dev interviews would be after the showcase. Guess I just got too excited seeing GT7 mentioned and swallowed it whole lol

This image has been making rounds around the web. According to this there is a 3min GT7 section/trailer during tomorrow's PlayStation Showcase. Don't know how legit this is, but interesting nontheless.

Also, lets not forget this sentence from the PS Blog:

"And stick around after the presentation to get more updates from some of the studio teams featured in the Showcase."

Maybe we'll get more info following the showcase, although I'm not putting my money on it :)

Either way, I'll be a happy camper to see and hear some more GT7 stuff, it's about time! 😁

Be careful, it's a big fake :)

Polyphony Digital Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc., is a software developer entity. Originally a development group within Sony Interactive Entertainment, the creators of Gran Turismo established Polyphony Digital Inc. in 1998.

Kazuhiko Takeda is on the PD board of directors and is also Deputy President and CFO at Sony Interactive Entertainment

Yes..? The concept that PD is part of Sony isn't... new information. PD was literally founded as an internal development studio by Sony employees.

The post you're quoting refers to the studio behind NBA 2K22 - Visual Concepts, under 2K Games, part of Take-Two - as not being controlled by Sony.

My bad thought this was in reference to thread Title

Don't you all know by now? You need to be negative, to get a positive result. Watch:

I really hope we don't get anything today.
Kaz will never ever show an update to GT7, before tomorrow.
I bet my house, Sony won't showcase any new GT7 clips.
I know for a fact, through a friend of mine, that has a friend, who knows this guy from his school 15 years ago, that sorta knew this other guy, who dated the guy's cousin's third cousin's sister, may have heard about PD not showing anything today. Belive me, we're getting nothing.

This has fake written al over it. I´d take it down if I were you to not cause any confusion.

Has anyone data mined the GT Sport update yet?
It probably has something do do with in game representation of GT 7. Maybe even contain relase date?

Well, I can help to keep your expactations low by actually adding some substance to that. When the PlayStation Showcase took place on the 11th of June last year, Kaz retweeted the official announcement about 12 hours before the start of the event:

As we all know that showcase included the first proper trailer for GT7 which most certainly was the reason why Kaz made the tweet in the first place. This time however he's completely silent, indicating that PD might indeed have nothing to share at the upcoming event.

Yeah, no, that's very unlikely to happen. The most you'd see in a data mine of the GTS update is potential future cars, or potential additional content for GTS, if they leave the files in the game and the like. They aren't going to sneak in a release date of a game that has nothing to do with it.

Nope, that's why my expectations are for just a quick update by the presenter with the PS4 version news and late 2022 release date, probably spoken over the same old footage.

It means nothing ;)

Tune in Thursday, September 9 at 1:00pm Pacific Time / 9:00pm BST / 10:00pm CEST for a look into the future of PS5. The Showcase will weigh in at around 40 minutes and include updates from PlayStation Studios and some of the industry’s most imaginative developers, for games releasing this holiday and beyond. And stick around after the presentation to get more updates from some of the studio teams featured in the Showcase.

Well, seems like we're not getting anything then... doubt it would be this late in the showcase.
They're showing new games first. Updates to already announced games last. Still might be nothing though of course.
