I mean atleast use the Pro version in 4K in photomode, the photo you posted wasn't even rendered you can see the low af and no supersampling.
This is what you need to compare to

i mean the only upgrade i see is more grass blades and some rubber on the ground, every other thing is exactly the same. And the sun postion is a little different. And keep in mind those are both photomode wich get enhanced vs in game graphics.
The trees are different

I mean they can't add other stuff like skycrapers when tsukuba it is like that. I think it is a good improvement from GTS, especially lighting, textures and grass

Kazunori Yamauchi: We don't have a system for simulating the amount of rubber that's laid on the track, but we do have a simulation of where the rain would create a level of water over the track. When a car passes over it, it will spray aside, and so the racing lines will dry quicker than the other parts of the track. That's something that is simulated and does affect the grip of the course accordingly as time goes on, and the track begins to dry in different places. The air temperature, the humidity, and then the road surface temperature will also be affected by these weather changes as well.
Yay they're finally simulating atmospheric changes!

Online save for everything except arcade mode. From the Q & A.

So as a solo player on all GT games this is disgusting. It should have two saves. One for one player save and one for the online save to prevent modding of save. Since a solo play save could be modded but it would not affect the security of the online save. There is no excuse for not doing that.

The online saving thing was an FIA decision apparently, not a Sony or Polyphony one.

I've seen segregation like this suggested by a few other people, but then how would I show off my cool widebody NSX in a lobby? Or take my 2018 Ford GT Gr.3 car that I won in a single player event to Sport Mode?

I'll never forget the collective surprise I got from a public room when I showed up with my Peugeot 908 that I got within the first week of playing GT5 while no one else did apparently (all without gifting or any other means). I was a very dedicated young man

Sound like i was wrong about the COVID one which is great, and Kaz confirms that there are 30 tracks and at least 100 (so it means that they're still working on new tracks) so we'll have at least 6 new locations?

GT7 is probably designed with the PSVR2 in mind which is why they cant talk about VR.

Long time reader, first time poster, hey everyone. Long time GT fan here, been playing since GT1.

Loved the trailer with the nods to the GT1, GT2, GT3 and GT4 intros. Love that Trial Mountain is coming back, I think the updated version looks great (and yes, I know this also featured in last year's GT7 trailer). That footage of the Castrol Supra and the Pennzoil GTR racing around Trial Mountain is pure nostalgia for me, has me pumped for March 2022.

Speaking of classic tracks, what chance do you guys think there is that we might see a few more classics such as Deep Forest, Grand Valley and Apricot Hill return? I note in the interview Kaz indicated further tracks and cars will be added as DLC in the future. This could refer to literally any tracks of course, I know.

Also, do you think we will have proper endurance races back in single player campaign mode? GT6 didn't have proper endurance races, the longest was 24 minutes if I remember correctly. Some of my fondest memories of classic GT are of doing the Grand Valley 300km, Apricot Hill 200km, Tokyo R246 endurance, etc etc.

If I remember correctly, the dude who data mines GT Sport found Tokyo R246, Cape Ring, Grand Valley, Mid field, and Eiger Nordwand all alongside already confirmed tracks like Daytona, Trial Mountain, and Highspeed ring.

edit: here it is

Well to answer that, of the ones you listed, Deep Forest, Grand Valley & Tokyo R246 have been found in the code for GT Sport, more than likely in a development phase for GT7. There are many other tracks found in the code too, the latest being Watkins Glen which was added with the latest GT Sport update I believe. There are images in this thread somewhere that feature the code, though it's going back quite a few pages.

Edit: someone beat me to it, but that post hasn't been updated with Watkins Glen yet.

Also one surprize is that Apricot Hill isn't there. It was brought back for GT6, similar to Midfield (though Midfield came in an update). Maybe it's one for the future, but no evidence of such yet.

I just realized that if player lobbies are limited to 16 due to peer-to-peer connection why don't they try it the battlefield way by letting players rent dedicated servers? there's also the question on why sport mode was decreased to 20 players even though it was 24.

This would be an amazing addition for racing leagues, though of course it will end up costing money in kind of like a bonus subscription format on top of PS+ membership. Leagues can still cope with the current lobby amount, but having the option to increase that for some leagues like multi-class could be a nice option if increasing the regular P2P lobby count isn't possible.

And if the money made from subscriptions goes back to Polyphony, who in turn can make more free content (cars, tracks, features etc), Then I personally would be up for that.

Something I'm also a bit concerned about is that I was reading the EuroGamer interview, and I read this quote from Kaz: "You're absolutely right in saying that GT7 will be something that will progress based on the progression of the PS5 platform." So I'm worried that the PS4 version won't get DLC, being exclusive to the PS5 version, especially with how hard it is to get a PS5 right now.
In GTPs interview Kaz pointed out the importance in both versions having the same content, so it’s hard to image that PS5 would get DLC the PS4 wouldn’t.

Is the campaign going to require ps plus or just to be online?

Didnt like gt5 monthly updates and preferred gt4 where eveything is there in offline mode. That way its permanent and not like gt5 and gone forever now.

Is it really that easy though? It's the cars that get modified for cheating so they'd need to be a major part of what's saved online... and they're common to both sections. That could be why it's only Arcade Mode (probably using it's own garage) that doesn't have to be saved online.

I can't help but feel a bit dissappointed with all the latest news coming out. First the grid size only being 16 in lobbies, that doesn't boast well for the grid size in other modes like FIA races or even single player races against AI. The second is the fact that we don't have dynamic weather/time on all tracks. Why say this so late, they could've said this as soon as dynamic time was announced(maybe with little text on the bottom of the screen during a trailer?). I just hope that the majority of the tracks have it, like Le Mans, Nordschleife and Trial Mountain.

Another big thing I noticed, also by people over on Reddit, is that it's basically just a ps4 game. I've not seen this myself, but on Reddit a post was made and someone quoted from it that when talking about the PS5 version, the only thing they talked about was the decrease in loading times. That's of course a great thing, since GTS menu's are frustatingly slow, but if that's all they tell us about the PS5 version, what other upgrade are there? I'm thinking that the ps4 game will be exactly the same as the ps5 version, maybe a little slower and lower FPS. I feel like they don't make full use of the PS5 console with also releasing the game on the old generation.

I don't know how long it will take for GT8 to come out, but if the life of the PS5 is about as long as the PS4's, around 8 years orso. They keep falling in between consoles and that makes things very awkward. Do they make it a next gen exclusive or do they focus on crossplay? I know PS5's are hard to get, but now it's barely worth getting a PS5 if you mainly play GT. I think if there were more benifits from playing on the ps5 and more feature that are exclusively on the next gen console, they would've told us already.

I also don't haven't seen a definitive answer about multi-class racing. In Super GT's breakdown video, he pointed out that in the final shot of Le Mans, there was a Gr.4 car racing with Gr.3 cars. I think multi-class racing has to be in the game, it's something unique and opens the door for many interesting mix races.

Whilst I'm ranting, PD please don't make cars 20 million credits. I actually want to race the cars I see in Brand Central, but if they're even over 5 million, it's rarely worth it. I've been playing GTS for 2 years now and have only earned around 50mil in total, but I don't want to spend nearly 50% of 2 years worth of income on just 1 car. I'd say the most realistic price cap should be around 5 million, as thats optainable but still a hefty amount.

The only bit of good news I've heard recently, is that the AI is improved over GTS's. The difficulty of the AI will make or brake this game for me. I don't race online as much, like the majority of the player base, so how the AI will be is super important. I want to race against AI, not just having them there as obstacles.

With every bit of news dripping out, I'm getting less and less excited for March. I think the game to really look forward to is not GT7, but GT8, when they actually make a game that uses the capabilities of the next generation consoles.

Seems like these interviews uncovered more flaws in this PS4/PS5 cross platform execution than I was prepared for.
The only flaw is Kaz seeing the World Tour players playing the older games. He then has the realisation players still play the older games. He then has an epiphany while having fun playing the older games he created! Fast forward to the interview, he says new players need to experience what us players felt, when we played the first games. The flaw, were those WT players bringing their daggone PS1 & PS2 to the daggone World Tooooooouuuuurrrrr!:banghead::lol::sly:

It'll be online but you'll only require PS Plus to race online against other players. You will be able to play all of the single player content without it, just like in GT Sport.

and I just thought of something I haven't seen yet, custom race mode. I'm hoping they improved that as that could help make arcade mode more of a compelling mode to play. GT Sport had something there being able to pick what class the AI races while you picked whatever car you wanted to drive, but it really should be expanded upon. Such as being able to pick your exact opponents rather than just the class for instance.
