That’s why I said even if it’s included in the mambo jambo. How is screening a game a copyright violation? It’s a video game, not a movie. People buy it to play it, not to watch it.

If it’s not allowed to show the game now it shouldn’t be allowed to show it after the “official” release date. As far as I’m concerned, the game has been released. Maybe early then Sony wanted, but the game was released as soon as someone got his copy legitimatel
When some of those cars have been out for years, and in other games, with car lists like GT, for years, you think another 2 to 5 year long wait is just fine? Well, to each their own, but I believe I speak for most when I say: "We've been exemplary in our patience."

Agreed, but as others have pointed out, how is gameplay a copyright violation? If I upload gameplay, it might be their game but it is my gameplay. And the spoiler argument doesn't work either, since this is a simple racing game, not a narrative driven experience, where the twists of the story matter to player experience. You will drive cars on racetracks, there you have all the spoilers.

Somehow, I don't think they're sticking to clips with copyrighted music, and that's the issue. Amazon messed up and sent people their copies too early. If Sony has someone to blame here, its them. The end-users bought their copies legitimately and have to right to enjoy them, and yes, upload gameplay. They didn't sign any NDA with Sony, so they're not contractually bound to not show anything. By also taking down gameplay clips, not of their own, with non-copyrighted material, they are abusing the copyright system for damage control purposes.
Official release date is X. They have all the right to take down all the content posted prior to that date, as other companies usually do. Usually the stores that sell early are the small family stores that are hard to control.. and when they are caught they get their fine or whatever they do. Obviously this is Amazon, they won't go public about anything that happens.. but yeah they screwed up the date.

It could be argued that stuff like prizes for completing license tests are supposed to be a spoiler at this point...

Also, /r/granturismo (disclosure: I am now a moderator there) is now clamping down on "embargo-breaking content" from early buyers, citing that the subreddit might be at risk of legal takedowns when someone pointed it out.

I have preordered the 25th anniversary edition, can I give my brother the code for the PS4 version of the game? Is this code linked to the other bonuses of the anniversary edition?

Does not compute. Unless Amazon forced the people they've already delivered to to sign NDA's?
The issue is that since Sony copystriking footage from those who got the game early on YT and Twitch at their discretion, they (more accurately, an user who modmailed the /r/GT moderators - hence the ruling) were worried that they might go after them as well.

Code is separate from the bonuses. Just know that the ps4 voucher code can't be upgraded to the ps5 version at any time.

Do they though? Typically, in order to force someone not to say/reveal something, an NDA is signed between the parties involved. You cannot enforce a non-disclosure policy against someone who didn't agree with it in the first place. It's called a non-disclosure agreement for a reason, if I don't agree to it, I may disclose.

That's a shaky argument because it still represents too small of a percentage of the game's experience, to make a difference on whether someone purchases it or not. Also, if revealing prizes is considered spoiling, then can game guides (even post-launch) be a copyright issue? After all, they do tell where, and how, you get the rewards, kind of spoils it, I guess.

Most of this page devoted to a silly argument. YouTube can take whatever they want down. It doesn't matter what your opinion is, they're within their rights to take it down. This is Gran Turismo 7 news, not copyright debate.

Anyway - I'm sorta skimming through because I don't want spoilers (yes, there ARE spoilers if you like to discover cool stuff yourself). Haven't seen the intro video, or too much about license tests. What I AM curious about, though, is if the livery editor is the exact same or if we can group decals/stamp decals. I haven't seen anything on that yet

Completely agree with your point about critical brands being missing and a lot of cars being outdated, though there could be a good chance we don’t have the AMG One as FH5 may have timed exclusivity with the model? IIRC Forza had timed exclusivity agreements with a few of their cover cars, like the GT2 RS and the Senna
Timed exclusive cars is the most trashy and pointless thing.

Seriously nobody is going to buy their product just to drive one car.

Its just a deal between two companies just to further their greed even more.

The game developer end is the one that dropped the ball, just like the digital version, the disc version should have been coded to contact the server once the game is started, if it's to early to play the game, then it would give the player the same message that digital versions get.

Not sure in this digital age with most people with camera phones, access to YouTube, Twitch etc., that you would release copy's of a game into the wild without protecting the game, relaying on anonymous people to rely on the honor system.

Genuine question: is this how selling a used car is done in Croatia (mainland Europe)? Dealers are effectively agents? Taking a commission?

Here, the dealer makes you an offer and you sell it to him (or her) and he sells it on at profit. So the normal GT sales method is ‘realistic’ as far as I ever experience it with second-hand car sales. Prob an exception for very high-end cars tbh, I’m talking 250 GTO-level, but I’ve never been fortunate enough to own such a beast so really wouldn’t know.
Not really. but it is an option.

90% of the sales are done owner to new owner...So I want to sell I car a make an advert and people contact me and come to see the car, if they want to buy it they pay and we transfer ownership and that's that.

the other 10% are mostly non car people who don't want to go thru all the 'trouble' and don't even know how to answer basic questions like when were back break discs changed, so they have an option to basically go to used cars dealership and switch their car for different(often newer and better) and pay the difference, of course dealer will evaluate their car at 10000 eur even though it might be sold for 10700 eur if they use option 1. but less hustle I guess.

So in GT sport I suggest somewhat hybrid system because owner to owner would then be too realistic and too many options, and since used car dealership is already in the game why not sell it to them but just add that 'delay' like you are waiting for offers and then chose the best one 2-3 days after.

I don't recall seeing any detail about tire width selection except that one photo of the drifting supra but this right here i think is a good reason to believe that's the case Screenshot_2022-02-27-17-03-41-745_com.twitter.android.png

That’s some ******** on Sony behalf. People got the game legitimately. They should be allowed to do whatever they want with it. Even if it’s include in that mambo jambo no one reads. That’s freedom of speech violation right there.

I love Sony, but **** them from behaving like that.
"Legitimately." True, it's not their fault that Amazon can't keep it in their warehouse, but...it's still early.

Referring to older cars as outdated feels so weird to me. Are car games just supposed to have refreshes of the same few cars again and again? More new cars would be cool but I'd definitely prefer Polyphony focus on completely new car models like Polestar 1 or GMA T.50 rather than on stuff like the facelifted NSX, Model S Plaid or the "new" BRZ.

With all the big changes to the Custom Race mode, now having all these new options, I didn't see anywhere that you could save your favorite settings, this will get become very taxing every time you enter this mode and want to run your favorite race that has a custom grids, custom weather, etc.,

aside, with the gamer's video last night running through the pit lane, looks like they finally cleared Trial Mountain's lane of vehicles:)

Did we had any feedback about the PS4 version yet ? Seems like that Sony is enforcing a strong embargo on GT7 since many sources have been striked South and North... I will not ask for videos or pictures content anymore since many have been impacted even though they were not submitted to any type of embargo themself as not being media or info sources. And yet they can play the game ... Strange move in my opinion even more since that Amazon started delivering the game sonner than told to...

I've seen rim width as an adjustable option along with the offset and diameter, I wonder if the tyre width will scale with the rim width adjustment.

When a game-studio / publisher tries to censor gameplay-videos, thats sometimes a bad sign for the quality of the game.
Seems they are afraid of something.

Hope GT7 will not be in a row with Cyberpunk, Battlefield 2042 and GTA Remaster

From what i have seen now, to me its like GT Sport 2.0

Just more content and dynamic weather, but visuals are mostly the same. Maybe because of PS4 limitation.

Extraordinarily unlikely. As has been said, not the first time this has happened with first party Sony titles and none of those failed (Spiderman, Horizon).

I'm not fussed if it gets taken down, in my own selfish corner I don't want to see anything outside of official media until I get my hands on it. I'll read some of the reviews from my trusted sources but not in depth, again, until after I've played it. I know people don't understand this and talking about spoilers in a movie context but it's about experience for me. I don't want to go in to playing the game feeling like I've already seen the opening few hours. Made that mistake before. Yes you can choose not to click on it but with such an anticipated title it's very difficult not to.

I've also mentioned before with this sort of thing, spoilers can come in all forms, things that weren't expected or announced, hidden items, we've seen that before in GT4, 5 and 6. And then the more regular but still exciting things to discover like the intro (always a big thing with GT games), the widebody kits and so on.

Everyone will obviously have a different feeling, I'm sure many just want to see everything and know everything before it comes out regardless of whether it will dampen the enjoyment of discovery and others will probably ban themselves from here and mute Gran Turismo hashtags on Twitter.

Thats not an issue and an indication that they are worried about something, thats simply taking down footage that isnt supposed to be avaliable publicly until the embargo is lifted, literally every game studio does this when footage is leaked earlier than it should be
