i think the only factor why gt7 and gtsport look close or the same is because if you saw the older games there are always 2 consecutive games that use the same engine and looks the same (GT1/GT2, GT3/GT4, more remarkably GT5/GT6) and the second is always just the first one but much much better
I don't know about GT1 and GT2, but I even feel that GT4 and GT6 have worse graphics than GT3 and GT5.
In GT4, the beautiful visual effects that GT3 had, such as heat haze and god rays, are gone or reduced.
GT6 has weaker antialiasing than GT5 and jaggies stand out.
These are one of the reasons I always like odd number GT titles.

Needless to say I couldn’t stay too long away.

When are the subforums opening up? Would be nice to prepare soon, no?

I think 5 and 6 is a tough one, both could be quite rough and both could shine, but GT5 was certainly more consistent and again, was Prologue perhaps better still in graphical refinement? Possibly. GT3 in my mind is unquestionably better than GT4 visually.

What they do have in common is being the first titles launched on new hardware. It'll be difficult really to compare next gen GT7 and last gen GTS. Perhaps GT7s real quality will only shine when GT8 launches (of it's a PS5 era game, unlikely).

These are Daiki Kasho's songs.

Also I'm positive the sound design has improved. Unless the Gr.B cars and the GT3 cars that I remember had drastically different sounds. Racecar transmission whine, the shifting rattle, the tire squeals, all seem to have been refined.

The annoying upshift overrevving(?) thing is still present on normal manual cars though...
...Uhhhh, "5OUL ON D!SPLAY" seems to be 4:40 instead of the normal 3:48. Might be either the full Spec II version or a remake of it.

Can you record it for me? PM me if you have to.

Another thing I noticed was that I was right: the reason for the renaming of most race cars is because this is likely because of not only livery support from the livery editor, but because certain cars have multiple default liveries (I once saw on the Twitch stream that the Porsche 911 RSR has two default liveries, the 2019 Le Mans golden stripes and the original show car from 2017).

Definitely hoping Polyphony adds more default liveries to most of the race cars through updates, but it's also nice to create some good ones in the livery editor too.
In the intro, we see the Ford GTLM and Genesis Gr.3 spinning at Daytona. The Genesis has the GT Sport default livery. In the Brand Central clip, it has new Hyundai colouring as the new default livery. Same with the reversed Lancer Gr.3 with now majority white livery as default. Meanwhile, we’ve seen the GT sport red livery in various GT7 videos clips.

I also like the new Renault RS01 GT3 black livery, Viper GT3 R red w/white stripes livery, RC F GT3, AMG GT3, 650S GT3 white livery, F-Type Gr.3 purple livery, Vantage GT3 Bilstein, Supra Gr.3 wears the world tour livery

Also noticed cars with standard Michelin tyres & liveries:

Alfa Gr.3 has Pirellis in GT Sport, now with Michelin
NSX Gr.3 has Bridgestones in GT Sport, now with Michelin and Castrol livery

None of the Gr.4 cars have new liveries.

We haven’t seen a clear shot yet, but the Gr.4 Supra may have been converted to lhd, like the real GT4. Hard to tell from the Brand Central photo, but look like the HUD display is on the left side of the dash. Hope it has the proper race interior.

If anyone can check, it’d be appreciated or I can check myself in a few days.

yo can i come? :D

I'll pick you up and we'll go to his place :D haha
Hey, we're all in Melbourne so why not? Very-kind of you mate.

With any luck he's got a half-decent driving rig and we can take turns, both on-track and literally.

It's up to Scott. The beer could be compensation for putting up with us.

Some quick bursts of info for some of the info people requested, sorry If I missed some of you guys, you have to unlock all the racetracks doing the career and I don't have enough money to buy some of the cars like the Pace car and GT3 car.

- Regarding the pace car lights, at least in the controls section there doesn't seem to be any options to turn off the lights.
but there is the option to turn on and off the windshield wipers (which I believe weren't in GTS?)

- the Gr.4 Supra is right hand drive

- Controls. You are able switch acceleration/braking buttons. (And to the person asking yes you can set the up/down shift to R2/L2

- Full Soul on Display (sorry there is the ui button press sound when I press play)

Edit: I also like that at the end of a race when you're getting your rewards and such the background sound is that of a car's engine turned off (all the pinging and clanging)

Edit: I also love the GT Cafe, its so effortlessly moody and chill and it actually teaches you about some of these cars.

actually you could add the mapping to turn on and off windshield wipers in gts, wasn't on by default like the overtake bind.

I might have missed this, but will we be allowed to play Music Rally with our own music?
I think I have my OutRun MP3s saved somewhere. 🤔😅
