More than disapointed, I'm now fed up with PD and Gran Turismo, because of their TRADITIONAL GAME OF HIDE AND SEEK for decades now....

I can tell I'd focus on Formula 1 until the moment they consider us players make their game live, and stop considering us as simple consumers.

The weird thing is, they did the same with Rachet & Clank. Also a major selling point regarding the PS5, but it's the same situation we're having with GT7: one trailer and nothing more.
Actually that got an extended gameplay trailer at Gamescom and it has a launch window.

It is true of Horizon though but we already know that is going to be late 2021.

PD are so slow, a part from controller feedback abs and stuff and some small rumours and the outsurcing news we didn't receive anything else about GT7 since June not even a photo, no gameplay not even info on cars tracks etc. in more than 3 months they should have done something new to show dunno why they waiting for, but at least I watched Demon Souls trailer and get the price and release date, at least. But still, PD is so slow in giving info and news

I'm pissed

Announced launch date Holiday 2021 - Delayed launch date Q4 2022
5 years of development cycle? I don't think so
>they already developed their next gen rendering and lighting engine during PS4 era with GTSport
So, no need to start from the scratch
>PS5 uses the same architecture as PS4
Much easier transition unlike with PS3
>confirmed they are outsourcing abroad
Much faster and efficient way to produce content

GT7 is going to be released around Q4 2021 if this is going to get delayed until 2022 then they should close down their studio

Absolutely this, no promise has been broken. The only things broken are self imposed expectations.
Devs tend to be a bit relunctant to give info out for these exact reasons. We've literally only been told that the damn game exists and people are expecting it to on their doorstep immediately.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't meant to be sincere.

You forgot one more thing:
>A joke.

Try to lighten up a little.

Why have expectations over something that was never promised? If there's nothing for them to show, then they won't show anything. Simple as that.

Something teased is the start of a promise actually.

The fact is they can't do things differently as they usually do ... Teasing à game two years before its release.

I agree Zlork, maybe in next days new info and having more cars and tracks confirmed or something

Lower your expectations. If they were going to provide information on the game they would've done in within the presentation for max viewership. Why would they purposefully skip a big event?

PD gonna PD.

GT6 was on the same console as GT5 and took almost five years for them to actually complete it with the preadvertised features, the launch version rushed to meet a deadline and unfinished.

They originally said PS4 was easy to develop for, far simpler than PS3. Then in the end it took them four years to release a light on content game, the only game on the console.

They're slow. This isn't news. I certainly hope it is ready in 2021 but you guys really can't keep acting like PD being slow is not possible, or a surprise.

And just like that, queue the proverbial throwing of toys from prams (no surprise there).

There was no promise or indication of there being any GT related news at this showcase, so quite how this is a surprise or let down I don't know. Besides, as history as shown GT has never been a launch title, mind there haven't been many A-list titles which have, so I didn't think that was going to change. The most important bit of information was the announcement of the PS5's price and release date, and with those out the way things look good, especially on the price front. It helps not to unnecessarily get ones hopes up for something, only leads to being let down more easily on the other side 👍.

I still think a Summer-Christmas 2021 (at best) release date is more likely for GT7, and one which make sense, given there hasn't been any updates on GT7 since the launch trailer, so why get worked up about something that wasn't promised?

In the meantime I find the positive in that it gives people like me more time to save funds for PS5 come GT7's release, and for any surprises (delays) we have become accustomed to with PD :sly:. Otherwise I'm looking forward to DiRT 5 before then, could do with some more PlayStation orientated news on the DiRT front though.

There's never been a Gran Turismo title available at launch for any of the Playstations before, I don't see why people were expecting that to change...

Maybe because Gran Turismo is a best seller in its kind.

To be absolutly clear I wasn't expecting it to be a launch title at any cost, but with the outsourcing explained, the extension of scapes locations number and the ABS stuff with the dualsense, I could have expected à new mini trailer with exclusivités, and a release window.

I'm not asking PD to deliver à GT 7 tomorrow, but I'm asking them to be a bit more honnest to their faithfull players.

Destruction All Stars and Sackboy Adevnture (not present at event) will be at launch title.

Just for info.
Those games don't have clout like GT does though lol. The GT7 trailer shown in June is the 2nd most viewed trailer of any next gen game. If GT was coming in the next year, Sony was gonna MAKE SURE GT was present at that event in some way, shape, or form. Even if it meant just throwing Kazunori Yamauchi in front of the camera for 60 seconds to talk about Michelin tires in Gran Turismo 7.

And their absnece from todays show is not breaking that promise. How many games are announced and then you get silence for months, sometimes years before you see anything else. Cyberpunk 2077 is a prime, prime, example of that. It's normal, it's natural, of course the fans of that particular game are desperate for more info, that's also normal, but the devs and publishers will follow the tried and tested stratergies.

The games that do tend to show too much too soon tend to be smaller and newer developers who are trying not to be like the bigger businesses but sadly more often than not releasing too much info too soon tends to lead to over-expectation and as a result dissapointment, which backfires massively (No Mans Sky I'm looking at you). The devs cannot please everyone, so the experienced ones won't try to.

We must be patient and give them time, . it's better to not expect anything and just be patient, just wait time will show everything, slow studio but more we wait more happy we will be when we finally get info and trailer, so I need to manage exceptations....I patiently re-start GT4 to fill the hype :)
