Those games don't have clout like GT does though lol. The GT7 trailer shown in June is the 2nd most viewed trailer of any next gen game. If GT was coming in the next year, Sony was gonna MAKE SURE GT was present at that event in some way, shape, or form. Even if it meant just throwing Kazunori Yamauchi in front of the camera for 60 seconds to talk about Michelin tires in Gran Turismo 7.

It was mostly to say that GT7 was absent doesn't mean that it will come out in 2022 or beyond.

I think like some people. There will be a special event. Once PS5 is released, communication will be more spread out, I think.

Lower your expectations. If they were going to provide information on the game they would've done in within the presentation for max viewership. Why would they purposefully skip a big event?

Well, it's true. But considering tokyo game show focus on japanese games GT7 being one of them I assumed could be a ( slim )chance that is could be shown maybe they held GT7 informations for tokyo event or at least give info on gameplay or some news not necessarily footages, I doubt surely it's very unlikely to happen, I know it's 90% impossible, but you know miracles something does happen, but I'm not concerned for the wait I play gt4 so until I complete it we will have new info 1-2 months later :). We have to wait further :)

We might get something at TGS but I agree with the crux of what you're saying. The main focus now up to the consoles release should be games that are launch titles or releasing soon after. Sure they will tease games that are longer term than that, but these teases will be fewer in number. If they put the spotlight on games releasing far off too much now they could actually damage the hype for launch titles.

Maybe because Gran Turismo is a best seller in its kind.

To be absolutly clear I wasn't expecting it to be a launch title at any cost, but with the outsourcing explained, the extension of scapes locations number and the ABS stuff with the dualsense, I could have expected à new mini trailer with exclusivités, and a release window.

I'm not asking PD to deliver à GT 7 tomorrow, but I'm asking them to be a bit more honnest to their faithfull players.
And their absnece from todays show is not breaking that promise. How many games are announced and then you get silence for months, sometimes years before you see anything else. Cyberpunk 2077 is a prime, prime, example of that. It's normal, it's natural, of course the fans of that particular game are desperate for more info, that's also normal, but the devs and publishers will follow the tried and tested stratergies.

The games that do tend to show too much too soon tend to be smaller and newer developers who are trying not to be like the bigger businesses but sadly more often than not releasing too much info too soon tends to lead to over-expectation and as a result dissapointment, which backfires massively (No Mans Sky I'm looking at you). The devs cannot please everyone, so the experienced ones won't try to.

Yes I agree with that, and I agree with the fact that Sony will try to sell some of the games at launch which couldn't stand the Weight of bigger franchises being launch later.

That showcase was made actually to define which games were ready or close to be released, which first I mistook with PS5's star franchises for the coming month or year.

I can assume that Gran Turismo 7's situation could be clarified after the 12th/19th of November.

They don't lack in honesty they're just not much communicative and quite slow but considering what a masterpiece we will got it's understandable! It's GT with tons of stuff and detail, not a B-action game that you can make in few months

Yes, these are typical Japanese and understandable manners.

Where they are humble and hard workers, I'd be proud and showing off with a single piece of good result in the same work.

I think until mid-late october we get only small info on development and some small stuff (as we got in these months for dualsense trigger feed and outsourcing) but nothing particular until late october or November (launch month) so they could do new showcase in November some days before launch and get new trailer, photos, and info in November or at best Late October, but not earlier than that, I think in November somewhere we will have another trailer and launch date and some new cool stuff and details, so minimum 1 month to wait still

PD gonna PD.

GT6 was on the same console as GT5 and took almost five years for them to actually complete it with the preadvertised features, the launch version rushed to meet a deadline and unfinished.

They originally said PS4 was easy to develop for, far simpler than PS3. Then in the end it took them four years to release a light on content game, the only game on the console.

They're slow. This isn't news. I certainly hope it is ready in 2021 but you guys really can't keep acting like PD being slow is not possible, or a surprise.
Good excuse or not, the reason of them being slow is known (other than low employee, but it's announced they're on hiring spree, dunno the results though), like PS3 architecture for 5 and 6, and though PS4 matches better, they started from scratch for GTS. It's unknown what's condition for PS5 though.

Yep, or give us again à bit of interest to GT Sport to help us waiting patiently.

... Race on the previous while waiting for the Next ... Could be the actual title for GT7

It's okay if game release in middle or late 2021 no real complain because they of course get more time to get the stuff done well, and put also more of everything (cars, tracks, events, graphics, sounds, details etc.) so it's good IMHO, 2022 is also possible but I hope Q2-Q3 2021 or holiday 2021.

However, coming in half/late 2021 after 4-5 years since they started working on it will be no excuse if the game get with small content at launch (like only 400-500 cars and only 40 tracks as an example) because at the point we gave to them 7 years (2014-2021) to get the new definite ultimate GT game done, since they are working on it since PS4 (what after it turned to GT Sport and then they went to PS5 but with assets and basic from ps4 already in 2015 as a pre-development stage considering the same GT Sport is only GT7 prologue on ps4 so GT7 development is way longer than from 2018, I think minimum 2016 the only difference is that all PS4 content they had for sport they made it to port it on PS5 for GT7. If they fail to make a definitive GT game, then I will never apologize them, and get to project cars.... They have the chance to bring GT back to it's pick glory, I have faith in PD considering they are amazing studio making amazing series which is one of the most important ever, but I also pretend (as everyone there) a bad ass game and not only a GTSport clone with RTX and only 50-100 new cars and small changes only. Hope our very long waiting since 2014 will be repaid!!

Just preordered a PS5 Digital Edition in the U.S with Target. Check the website now, seems like its still up if you are looking for one in that region.
