There's a Crown in GT series now?? Pardon me as I haven't touch GT since GT5.

On the engine stuff:

Pretty sure the engine restore is the same as classic GT’s in GT Auto, and the “buy new engine” is to revert an engine back to stock from an un-reversible mod like boring (you can’t un-drill holes…), just as buying a new body would revert from wide body and or maybe weight reduction mods.

The question remains if you can buy a bunch of engines and swap them in and out of the car, or even put them into other cars, or it literally only serves as a “revert” button. It seems like excessive UI navigation just for an engine swap so it’s hard to say, since that is a common quirk of PD’s games.

Not long to find out though 😃

At the very least still gave an Endurance race in Daytona 500 or such with the NASCAR.

There's Grid Starts (and technically, GT used chase the rabbit in later games such as GT5 while not doing it in earlier games than that, so technically the "old" one were the proper standing starts in GT)

Still one/some step away from being full blown event creator as the next thing that should be added is creating Championships as well as saving the race or sending it online for people to participate. The option to make your own whole grid is a good, and finally something that is actually added though.

I guess this is the proper way, both the digital and physical copy users should have the same treatment.

It goes beyond that

How about more RPG, with you having to acquire license and then do showcase races on your own car, then maybe some teams may offer to pick up as second or third driver in a lowly team.
You then receive race prize money and wages that you can spend on your own personal garage, while also have a team car that you race with.
Maybe later on after a while you get offers from better teams in higher leagues. Or you get dropped from current team due to poor performance etc
All the while there are one off races that you can book/apply for in advance, like hill climbs, circuit races, drags, drifts, targa etc that vary in difficulty and prize money, and gated by performance, reputation, qualifications and a weeding process

Resleeve!

The lack of loading times is a trip for sure, I've been so conditioned to expect long loading in racing games that I keep thinking the footage is edited, but no, that's just how it is now. Still got flashbacks of GT5 version 1.0
I finally got GT5 to work for me weeks ago and was quickly reminded of how seemingly never ending it can be. Coming back to it just from GT Sport alone was a shock in itself.

How does the paint buying work? Do you need to buy just once and you can use it on unlimited cars, or do you have to buy it separately for each car?
It appears that for the manufacturer and special paints (candy, flake etc.) that you have to buy separate for each car, however you can use the colour picker in the livery editor as per GT Sport. The special colours may show up in purchased items though, I just haven’t seen any evidence for that yet

The manufacturer paints now have race car colors! Can't wait to paint my Miata 787B orange!

Yeah I usually read forums or watch youtube while games load, but GT7 looks like you select the event and boom you're in the race.

Wonder how the impressive load times translate to PS4 which don't have the high speed SSD and all the extra performance.
Depending on what its loading, probably more or less the same as GT Sport.

Aquaplanning is awesome,it all adds up for a fun online play,GTS was way too static and people would get a bit comfortable always knowing that the track remained the same, especially the top players.
I agree 👍🏻 I’m up for any dynamic change in the online races.
