Do you guys remember a mission in GT4 on a very wet Tsukuba against a Bentley 8? Or was it the Audi R18? Can't remember now.

Well, what I can remember is the ultimate tactical torpedo on turn 10 when my father jokingly said "DO IT! I AM THE SENATE!". Quite a sight to behold, indeed, as the IA went flying and my car got "extra speed" from the "wall" bounce. I couldn't stop laughing.

Today I was trying to complete the Tsukuba rainy mission. Actually, I just wanted to see what should be my pitstop strategy. Tried a couple of cars without success. Messed around a little bit with the R32 and it seemed a good car to take on this challenge.

The race went like this: 1st stop: full fuel, sports hard; 2nd stop: full fuel, sports hard; 3rd stop: 5 laps fuel, sports soft.

And then it happened. I didn't noticed at all, I was actually just enjoying the rain. I noticed it was the last lap, but I didn't noticed I was in 2nd place. And then I saw it: turn 10. Right there. AND THE LEADER! THE LEADER IS THERE! DO IT!! nooo i must resist! DO IT! YOU HAVE TO!!

I closed my eyes, top speed. BANG! Target down! Mission complete! The victory is ours!

Ah, some things never change...

Not my proudest "sportsmanship" moment, but it was sure fun

One of the "do xxx miles online with other players" trophies seems to be glitched in a good way. Because earlier today I earned "Going the Distance together: The Atlantic" while doing the Barcelona circuit experience. This trophy requires you to do 5810 km online while my actual online mileage is probably less than 100 km.

Heh. Don't tell me the trophy is for the miles all players do added together 🤣

Tried to apply a livery and it wanted to charge 10k credits?? This is getting a bit out of hand.
It fits the custom body parts that are used in that "livery", that's why they've been called "styles" instead, personally I think it's a bit stupid to reinvent reinvent the wheel so to speak, but they're not wrong if the livery was applied to a car with different body parts because it essentially changes the "mesh" that the livery was applied to.

Also - WTF @ the tyre smoke downgrade.

I barely managed to get bronze. This game is pissing me off now. Gold ON everything else in IA.

This game is really starting to frustrate me to be honest. Doing the stupid cafe races and doing the WTC cup, my car just decided to spin at random on the straights where as in the race before it was fine. Then when I get within 20 seconds of the leader he magically speeds up. Also why is it so easy for the computer to spin me when they are on rails? And wasting so much time on these dumb races just to get money.

Because the AI can dole out several hundred steering inputs per second; more than we could ever muster, so it seems unfair because it is. In a way.

It doesn't show it but when there is tire wear tire Temps are also a factor. Without tire wear there is no such thing as cold tires. That's why it feels so different.

Did some experimenting with making cars dirty again (because I'm sad and it interests me).

Did a 90 minute race (45 laps!) at Trial Mountain to see if it was enough for my car to get dirty at all.
Time was also at 4x progression, mechanical damage on etc. to see if it made a difference.

As you can see (or not... its subtle) there IS a difference. Picture was taken going on the final straight on the last lap, with dust & oil enabled in the first, and disabled in the second. Reflections are slightly muddier and dulled in the first picture, most notable with the reflection on the windscreen and on the splitter. Nothing to be seen in terms of oil stains, however.

Unfortunately, this didn't impact my actual car at all. Its still pristine in the garage, I brought it into a new race and did the same dust on/off comparison of it at the starting line and there was no difference, so this dust is just pick up from the race (and tbh I don't think its any more than you get after like 5 laps) and not the actual car getting dirty.

Car is at 390 miles driven now and no sign of any grub, I'll probably keep using it to see if anything does turn up. Shall post triumphantly if it does because... who knows. It's the little things in life.. or something like that.

Anyone actually seen their cars getting oil marks/dirt on them in longer races yet or is this just a random aesthetic feature limited to Scapes?
Yup as soon as you hit your car it I can see dents and starches.

Because folks were upset they could t see..😒

Dents/scratches show up all the time - I mean the like black oil marks & dirt that are supposed to show up on your car after a long race.
I got you I have not seen it I have an 45 min league race tomorrow I will watch replay and let you know.

4th Online win in a row and my first challenge. The guy in second thought he would play bumper cars and got ahead. The penalty sorted him out a few corners later though.

New update has reduced tyre smoke and spray by about 70-90% . . . that's two of the things that this game did best gone in one update.

I'd love to know who told them that was a 'fix' they needed to apply.
I have a suspicion that it was done to keep the game from stuttering heavy in big particle situations.

Maybe a bug ? Or it's a decision to stabilize the framerate but I doubt.... ?

Quick question for anyone who has done this, when you win a championship you are given a choice of 3 cars to pick at random. Can you do the championship again and win a different car,and so forth until you have collected all 3?
