One, I genuinely do not understand the point of Music Rally. Yes, I said that on day one, minute one, but I have further points after purposefully going into it the other day to try and...get it.

  • Why is there a timer? I get they're going for an arcade feeling here and it works wonders, but ultimately it's rather pointless because...
  • No matter what you do, the session is done the second the song ends.
  • Why are there other cars on the track with you? They're just rolling roadblocks, literally and, well, just literally. Because the AI is 🤬 stupid beyond compare.
  • Why is there a rolling start, with the timer already ticking down and the song already started? Why not do a standing start? The other cars are pointless anyway so what difference does it make?
  • What's the point of this? If it's to have fun, then sure, whatever. At a glance though it seems it's another thing in GT's library that's different simply for the sake of being different without any real substance to it.

If I had to guess as to it's purpose look at the cars available for it. To me this is Kaz trying to get people to enjoy the simple pleasure of touring in an underpowered classic car while enjoying some tunes. Fairly pointless but so are those cars tbh.

I didn't find it that difficult. I'm honestly confused why so many are finding it to be. 🤔

I don’t do any tuning, just fit SM tyres to every road car I use. And no wheel, just controller. I prefer doing it the hard way, getting a car and tuning it makes it easy and it all feels hollow when the game’s done. I learned that lesson with GT3. If you really found it that easy I suspect you either tuned or use a good wheel, or discovered a particularly good car (lemme know), or you could just be super talented of course...

And that's all well and good, honestly. I think the real problem that I'm having with it is it's so out of place in a track-focused racing game. If there were an open world GT game this would fit like a glove because the environment would compliment it so much better than this.

I’m using stock 911 997 just with upgraded SM tires, clutch shifter and wheel.. my problem is I can’t catch them in time.. if it was 1 extra lap I would win easy! Did you upgrade a car? I am super cheap when it comes to upgrades.. i typically can win with stock slower cars, but AI is much better in some of events you race them in. I took third in the championship So I’m good I just wanted to get gold!

If you want to win it (WTC 600 champ) with a stock car, and staying at difficult level, try the AMG GTS with SM tyres. Worked for me.

Thank you, Update and Daily Workout ticket. :)

I got 100k yesterday and thought "Wow, something actually useful", of course forgetting that it also gave me the 380RS a day or two prior.

Anyway, my point was supposed to be that was a gold voucher (the 100k) and this is silver...which makes no sense to me at all.

I think it's supposed to be something extremely arcade-y aimed at young children, as part of their 'getting a new generation to love automotive culture' thing.

Classic PD quirkiness, fortunately it doesn't seem like they spent too much of their time on it.

Anyone actually seen their cars getting oil marks/dirt on them in longer races yet or is this just a random aesthetic feature limited to Scapes?
I didn't and it seems strange, why on earth PD can put in the game such features and attetion to detail to then make them only for scapes and not to mention that it would be amazing if after some races your car could be fully dirt (accumulating it after every race) and maybe you at to use the car wash, making it way more relavant than how it is right now . I mean they brought that back and it does nothing at all... weird.

I find it strange that is seems so hard to get to show up... considering its an option in race photos too!

There's (theoretically) no reason for it to be there if it couldn't actually show up, so it does leave me a bit bewildered.

OMG can someone please explain to me why the heck would they remove 80% of tyre smoke and dust when driving dirt events...
This is so lame I have no words 🤬🤬🤬
PD have a habit of removing or downgrading features because some users don't like them, it's been like this since forever. I truly hope they listen to the right type of people when updating/fixing some issues with the physics because listening to people who just rambling on forums or social media isn't the right choice.

Out of curiosity, what's the highest mileage car you have, that you've not washed, changed the livery of, body of etc.?

I imagine it'd take a good few hundred miles to accumulate.

Man I hope to God that this is a bug otherwise it's a deal breaker for me...
I made a video I will share it as soon as uploads to YT...

The rally cars, for grinding. IDK maybe 250 km in the 86 group B

Plus the promotion from Kaz was that it was about relaxing, having fun just driving to music. So why is there a time limit and Bronze/Silver/Gold rewards for doing it quickly? If you just cruise it's not going to last very long.

Did Kaz forget to include that part in the email to the guys actually making it?

Not sure whether to post this in here or not, since this thread is moving so fast... Eh, in here, then.

So, satisfied with the car audio in GT7? Well, now you have Daiki Kasho to thank for that. Alex Breuer says he was only at Nightbird to review the car audio with the team.

I think they probably played WipEout HD/Fury and saw this...

...saw how the game was reacting to music, and thought, HEY! LET'S DO THAT WITH CARS!

I'd rather they had gone the whole nine yards and create arenas or something for the feature then.

That's another thing. Before I noticed the session ends when the song does, I was wondering why it just...ended when I still had several seconds left and was about to cross a checkpoint. The game doesn't really go out of its way to explain how it works to you. For the most part it is just do the thing you've already been doing and drive, but there are mechanics...no matter how much I personally don't see the point in them.

You can explain the license tests (which annoys to me no end  ) but not this!?

Well, according to @Tidgney there are some Menu Races missing that were supposed to cover race cars and it went up to level 50.

If those missions were supposed to be in the game I wonder when PD took them out.

I have a 250 mile GT3 Corvette I've not touched since getting it, the oil has started to deteriorate (which I've not touched either) but I cant tell if there's any visual deterioration yet - maybe some dust?

Quite certain. Tried again now, started in "Evening", and set 10x acceleration. Stopped the car facing the sun, and it lowered but then stopped, and never sets. It does not have a night/midnight/early morning/dawn time presets either .. so looks as is the 24Hr cycle is not present at Spa.
If the data I collected works the way I think it works, then only those tracks that have 11 preset options for TOD are also the ones that have the full day/night cycle. That would then be the following tracks :

Spa only has 6 TOD presets, not 11 like the ones above.

….meanwhile…. 😭
Have they changed something on assists in the patch? I didn’t even try IB1 before but that Corvette turns like absolute shaite in that corner. It slides off the track like it’s on butter and something is really hindering power getting to the wheels. I run with TCS at 1 and stability on.
