Am I right in saying the maintenance begins the minute daily races usually reset? With time zones and daylight saving I actually don't know..
Scary. I hope they don’t ruin the Gr.3/4 events in World Circuits by using BoP instead of 630/730PPs.“The performance points requirements for some events may change with this update.”
Maybe they've found it easier to drop the PP for the Tokyo grind to 550 rather than figure out a way to exclude the Tomahawk. My skeptical side tells me that if so, they will forget to adjust the performance of the AI so that even in easy mode it will be impossible to win.“The performance points requirements for some events may change with this update.”
Hey, get in line!Every time I get the lowest reward on the roulette I want to punch a PD Dev in the face.
I gotcha, I do think it's a very nice livery. Though I can say that about a lot of Castrol sponsored cars, they just have a color combination that works so well.I love the Castrol livery from the car that ran in IMSA, such a beautiful car (more so than the Silk Cut one).
Maybe they only change the PP requirements for the Championships? It's just dumb that they don't fix the glitch itself.Maybe they've found it easier to drop the PP for the Tokyo grind to 550 rather than figure out a way to exclude the Tomahawk. EDIT: I just read the notes again. It says the PP will change for "some events" and to complete any World Championships before the update.
"Fixing" the PP system is much easier said than done. It obviously is based on simulating various aspects of a car's performance, not just a simple numerical system, so it's fixing a simulation, not just a calculation. Especially if they're already working on adjusting the RWD physics, which will also in itself change how those RWD calculations work.Maybe they only change the PP requirements for the Championships? To add to this, cars with automatic transmissions roll away in gear when you let off the brake.ahh... but if it didn't have it IRL, PD's M.O. is not to include it in the game.
There may have been exceptions over the years, but this is the general thinking.
It even extends to the clutch. You buy a GT DD Pro setup and the clutch won't work with some cars... 'cause they didn't have one.
I used to think this was a glitch, like how you can shift up while in reverse and have the car drive around at 20 km/h.To add to this, cars with automatic transmissions roll away in gear when you let off the brake.
....just like in real life. Except I didn't know this, and I thought I had stick drift or a broken controller for about a day before I figured it out.
The throttle meter in-game shows about 5-10% input, like you've got a lazy R2 trigger or a drifting R3 stick.
And it's about time to add some content. It's like nightmare. We got few useless races into empty game in almost 2 months?
True but I want cars too, there is no space to play this game if you don't have any car. Like I said, nightmare.Get some online friends, so you don't have to be stuck on single player mode like it's 1998. The time I've had so far in lobbies has been more fun than anything I did in single player mode.
So what if you think online racing sucks?Get some online friends, so you don't have to be stuck on single player mode like it's 1998. The time I've had so far in lobbies has been more fun than anything I did in single player mode.
We just had an online focused game. This one was promised as the most complete Gran Turismo to date, a return to the roots of the series that made it so popular.Get some online friends, so you don't have to be stuck on single player mode like it's 1998. I have 95h in gt7 pure singleplayer now and still enjoying golding circuit exp. After completing pc2 camapaign in about 10h (if I remember correctly) was bored to death and never played game again (also got very rare trophy for it, nobody bothered ;d) edit: checked, has 25h of pc2, so not that bad but still imo quite boring 25h, 2.1% players got trophy, 25% in gt7I said in another thread but I'm replaying Project CARS 2 single player right now and having lots of fun. It is very possible in a single player racing game if said game is high quality in the right places, sadly GT7 doesn't provide the same thrills.
Yea same for me.. at the end of the day when it just comes to an all around game GT7 nails it for me and I expect it to get even better that’s the best part!I have 95h in gt7 pure singleplayer now and still enjoying golding circuit exp. Why? Did you not enjoy racing? Because that's what pCARS is all about. GT7 single player, not so much. It's about driving around obstacles to earn credits to buy cars.I have 95h in gt7 pure singleplayer now and still enjoying golding circuit exp. Well GT7 has way more road cars for one, so I can see why someone would prefer GT7 over PC2 for that reason, even if PC2’s AI model is a lot better. Why? Did you not enjoy racing? Well yes, but I asked if he didn't enjoy the racing because surely that's the main draw of a racing game. I can understand people preferring GT for the better graphics, for the better controller experience, for the wider range of road cars, for the extra features like photomode/scapes/livery editor etc but I can't understand someone getting bored purely of racing in pCARS but not in GT7.Well GT7 has way more road cars for one, so I can see why someone would prefer GT7 over PC2 for that reason, even if PC2’s AI model is a lot better.
That’s fair. I think I’ll have to try PC2 again with a controller this time, I’ve always heard it’s not that great with a controller so I never bothered but some people on this forum seem to be saying otherwise…Well yes, but I asked if he didn't enjoy the racing because surely that's the main draw of a racing game. Hard to say, I have feeling of progress in gt7 that is lacking in many racing games (espeialy fh), and variaty of gameplay like licenses, missions, circuit exp etc. Why? Did you not enjoy racing? Because that's what pCARS is all about. GT7 single player, not so much. It's about driving around obstacles to earn credits to buy cars.
To be honest no it's really not brilliant, there is no doubt GT is way better with a controller. Once you get used to it though, it's really not that hard to simply control cars, even the crazy powerful ones. It's hard to be fast and consistent with them but that's just because of the much more realistic physics compared to GT. Takes some change of style, you've got to be much more careful on the throttle and make sure you're braking in a straight line. pCARS will punish these things where GT is more lenient. That’s fair. I think I’ll have to try PC2 again with a controller this time, I’ve always heard it’s not that great with a controller so I never bothered but some people on this forum seem to be saying otherwise…
Fair enough. GT and pCARS are certainly very different in that regard. GT progession has always been about earning credits to get better cars, and upgrading them. pCARS progression is all in the racing, like the real world. You start small and work your way up to the highest tiers of motorsport but no, there is no "unlocking" progression like GT. All cars are there for you from the start. I get that people like the car collecting style of GT, though.Hard to say, I have feeling of progress in gt7 that is lacking in many racing games (espeialy fh), and variaty of gameplay like licenses, missions etc.
Well, if we extrapolate your comment to extremes you get ONE car and ONE track in a game that's enough because it's still racing, right? You don't need anything more than that, because race.Well yes, but I asked if he didn't enjoy the racing because surely that's the main draw of a racing game. Very nice, I simply asked why he found it boring and questioned that it surely couldn't have been because of the racing. He confirmed it wasn't, it was the progression. So no, my comment wasn't ridiculous. I did say it was surely the main draw, not the only draw.Well, if we extrapolate your comment to extremes you get ONE car and ONE track in a game that's enough because it's still racing, right? You don't need all those other pesky cars and places and distractions because those things aren't about "racing". Different cars can't possibly change the experience, could it? Liking the way your car looks and performs means nothing I guess, because that's not racing.
There should only be ONE race series in the world with ONE type of car right? Nobody wants anything different because they have their ONE race, and that's all you need if you like RACING.
Hopefully this thick sarcasm gets across how ridiculous I think your point is. Car culture and racing is such a wide swath of tastes, preferences, manufacturers, styles, pace, seriousness etc etc.... that you would try and boil it all down to "but you like racing so just race cause all races, racing and racing games are the same" is incredibly shallow and myopic.
Could've worded it better, you came off very arrogant and dismissive.Very nice, I simply asked why he found it boring and questioned that it surely couldn't have been because of the racing.
Also, "get some online friends" is not a solution for a severe lack of single player content in a game that has been explicitly called a single player focused game.
Oh come off it, Granturismo has been an online game ever since multiplayer was introduced in GT4. The online portion has been an increasingly larger part of the franchise with each release. Whether it be developer-sponsored content like time trials, drift trials, Sport Mode, and FIA races; or community-made modes like roleplaying, league racing, drag teams, drift teams, etc.We just had an online focused game. This one was promised as the most complete Gran Turismo to date, a return to the roots of the series that made it so popular.
Online could be absolutely perfect (and it isn't) and some people still wouldn't be interested. "Try racing online" is not the answer to criticism of the single player game. I said in another thread but I'm replaying Project CARS 2 single player right now and having lots of fun. It is very possible in a single player racing game if said game is high quality in the right places, sadly GT7 doesn't provide the same thrills.
