Yep but did you read my edited reply above ?
I did now but i never meant that they won't release a game cause people are homeless or something like that.
Financial giants consider a lot more than how much people are staying home due to Covid .
It make sense of course but also make sense that nobody will stay home if a loose period will follow .
Anyway , lets find a ps5 first to buy and we can agree or disagree later.

Am fully respect that ,but still the facts are :
Nobody really knows when .....
We have a " soon " plus a " first half" with lot of translations.
There not ps5 for sale even for sample.
As for how the pandemic affect and will continue affect mullions people lifes ,is not the thread to discuss about it but is there , happens now and everything is a chain reaction in life .
Plans of billions fall into a deep black hole at 2020 as also some will make billions ( few of course) from it.
Don't know if Sony or other tech giants stay out of this but definitely is not ordinary period that we've been through with all that brings.
The first batch of consoles selling out is not a new phenomenon, it certainly may be exaggerated with so many people around the world in one form of lockdown or another. But it isn't a new thing, nor is it unique to the COVID pandemic.

By February/March 2021 there will likely be far fewer issues around most of the world with Playstation 5 stock which means that a game will sell as well it should. A game that can sell consoles, will be a big deal post-February 2021 IMO.

People taking advantage of post-COVID freedom isn't really an impact either, going away for a couple of week or two long holidays and going out more becuase we couldn't for a year won't mean people who don't want or enjoy games on console still won't spend time on them.

I will buy PS5 in December/January when they fix the technical problems of consoles, the launch is always problematic in that regard.

I will play gt sport on PS5 considering I don't play it since March 2020, so on PS5 I will experience better loading times and maybe framerate so I have some fun while GT7 don't come

I agree on that and as i wrote in the past , there's no way to release GT7 without ( even if is ready ) have the proper amount of consoles to sale .
Leaving Covid outside of this and suppose that has no impact at all ,the first aspect still remains : where are the ps5 ? Soon to a store near you ( another soon ).

I agree, a system seller requires systems to be availalbe to sell, I think there will be plenty of supply by the time GT7 comes out even if that is still first half 2021, which bear in mind can be as late in the year as June. It doesn't have to be January or February.

As for the consoles availalbility, yes "soon".

PD spent so much time on GTS and the updates after that I'm not sure how much time they could have dedicated to GT7. The dynamic time and weather and vastly improved physics and sounds that people are hoping for seem like a lot to handle on top of how much they have been supporting GTS. Maybe I'm underestimating their capability and staff size but I feel like the game is going to be underwhelming beyond being slightly impressive visually.

But most of the work on GTS should transfer straight to GT7 as well. So all time spent on those updates is time spent on GT7

Personally I have hidden myself in a cupboard and I wont be coming out until GT7 is released. I don't want to see or speak to anyone until I'm able to have a full on conversation with them about all its features and foibles. Its a damn good job my office is closed until June 2021 due to COVID 19.. thats all I can say!!

GT5 released with features that worked just fine, but then GT6 released without many of those features. Subsequently GT6 brought them back with updates later on, but some aspects felt poorly conceived compared to GT5.

Point being, it’s best not to take things for granted when it comes to PD. We know GT7 will bring back many fan-favorite features, but I’m kinda expecting some things to get worse because PD logic always manages to ruin a few things. I really hope it’s not going to be the case this time.

Anyway, I think people will enjoy the game more by expecting some bewildering priorities and design choices. Otherwise it’s setting oneself up for a few disappointments.

It's cool to see GT7 in PS5 menu :)

Let's hope news before end of the year.
It was great to see on launch day given how long it took on PS4 to have any mention of GT. I noticed today that GT7 has taken pole position of games coming soon. :)

Wonder how quickly they will premiere the world final. If it takes couple of weeks then could be looking at just past middle of December with hopefully unveilings by then. Would be great if they did a demo thing like GT5 Time Trial again for the festive season. The longer they leave it though, the more polish they can apply so don't mind if they take until next year. I'm personally interested in trying out the controller with this game as the kinesthetic triggers and the haptics have so much potential and also the 3D audio.

One thing's for sure, the game won't be coming out a day later than soon!

I have a theory.

Kaz has said that GT7 will be a combination of "past, present and future", and the current marketing material seems to focus on the past. Trial Mountain is a classic track from the old GT games, and the 917 is a classic race car. Does this mean that the next piece of marketing will be dedicated to the present? A current Porsche on a real world track that's in GT Sport? You also have to wonder, will the Porsche VGT that's supposedly on the "cover" represent the future? Along with a track never seen in GT before? I feel like the marketing material will progress in this fashion, because this idea of "past, present and future" seems to be the main driver of the game's overall identity.

Was wondering if this only happened to me...

Might not mean anything though. Horizon is second in the list but isn’t expected to release until the second half of 2021, while R&C is after it but meant to be coming in the first half of 2021

I'm always impressed on how powerful PD is on making everyone so creative about future GT games by just saying NOTHING!

Lower your expectations everyone, besides PD making some very good stuff on previous games, they usually balanced these good things with very frustrating ones...

PD have lot’s of time left to release the game. I mean, where is anyone going to get a PS5? So I would wait on releasing it as the sales will be very low. I would be even more frustrated if GT7 launched next week and not be able to get a PS5.

GT7 isn’t launching for a few months at the very least - by that time, I’d like to think Sony have sorted their supply chain/stock issues with the PS5 and will be able to get a lot of consoles out there.

Yeah, no way they’d release the game when the console it’s played on isn’t even available to everyone. That’d be shooting yourself in the foot.

Wonder if Gazoo Racing and Michelin have supplied PD with snow and icy conditions. That's plenty of data. Might be a case of how much of the data PD can actually put in the game.

Will we get a "Northern Isle" type playground, that just has snow for missions/licence tests only?
