The video isn't HD, I've frozen several frames and not just during the GT7 footage and nearly all of it looks jagged and/or blurry.

That said, if the trees aren't that wonderfully detailed I doubt I'll notice mid race assuming still that they aren't improved before release.

You can have the video uncopressed in 8k but the textures and vegetation are not going to improve trust me, it's not about the res

You will get sharper images from an uncompressed 8k video, absolutely. You'll lose the fuzziness and jaggedness caused by the compression and resolution. I'm not saying the textures will be great, but I'm saying whatever point in the trailer you freeze the frame the textures look blurry and/or jagged. That's because of the compresison and resolution. And to some degree, large or small, it would look better uncompressed and in 4k.

You are always fixated on the trees from that shot, they might not look great in the end, but a screen capture of a heavilly compressed 720p youtube video is not what will back you up. There's loss of quality everywhere.

To illustrate the two images below are the same, one is a lower native resolution than the other. Does one look sharper and better than the other:

And that's before you account for motion and compression.

Once agian, I'm not saying these trees will look fantastic, they certainly won't be considerably better than they currently are without being worked on or replaced before release (which is possible). But they don't look their best in those captures. A compressed 720p youtube video is not the ideal source material to back up your point.

The cars are going to all exist in that stale spot where they're 4-8 years old where they aren't fresh but they aren't classics either aren't they

I want know how Sony edited a YouTube video without having to reupload it as a separate video.

YouTube allows big companies to replace videos without losing anything.

A lot of music videos have done it in the last few years, replacing old 480p videos with 1080p remastered versions but keeping the billions of views from the old one.

Not something available to regular users because they'll just abuse it.

Thing about car years is when PD modelled them. When GTS was made known, the oldest car was the 2009 Lotus Evora. 2015 MX-5 was new and GTS was announced 2016. So, all the cars were up to date.

PD working on GT7 since 2017. We've got a few road cars from 2017-2020. The race cars, hopefully, are upgraded to 2018 spec with a couple 2019. 2020 models may be scarce, as there barely any new GT3 cars for the Evos. However, we may see more new road cars in their 2019 model years. C8, Mustang, Aston, Ferrari, those type cars. No to sure about 2020 JDM cars.

The communication from Sony and PD after 6 months is irrisorius. Every week just we see the 917K, the same GR3 cars, Trial Mountain and the same trailer over and over again.

I understand they try to sell the console with the games already released, but just 3 weeks left for 2021 and no new information about: R&C, GT7, Returnal and the big release for 2021 from them, Horizon FW.
GOW obiously for 2022 and aparently GT7 too

Looks like there is a difference in time and possibly weather
No, it's just a lighting adjustment rather than a time difference.

They obviously don't want to reveal too much at this point.

As far as PD are concerned they haven't even truly announced it yet. I mean, obviously they have, Sony didn't steal the trailer and show it against their will, but it was essentially just a "This game is going to exist" trailer, like short movie teasers that are common these days, to get people interested and on their mind. Sure it was pretty long as teasers go, but PD have barely acknowledged they showed it on their website, there is no further information to be found, the focus is still 100% on GTS. They are not ready to actually talk about GT7 yet, clearly. They just came to a decision with Sony that it would be a good game to dangle as a carrot with the PS5 reveal.

Once PD actually, properly announce the game things will get rolling.

Hard to admit, but that's true. And I didn't even consider that...

mention about first half of 2021 was change to 2021 also for Ratchet and Destruction All Star so nothing to be worry probably but good that they confirmed once more that gt7 is ps5 only

I think Q4 2021 it's most likely as release date

maybe it's compressed being a photo and not an image from the actual monitor ps5 screen?

Even Q1/Q2 2022 it's still quite possible, late 2022 is too late and I hope unlikely, 2023 impossible

I'd go for Late 2021

For later the better since itll be easier getting a PS5, console will be improved and hopefully I will have enough saved to afford it lol.

Happy with Q4 2021

Everything acceptable except later than Q2 2002... Considering the development cycle of at LEAST 6-7 months more to finish the game (if it come in mid 2021) or even of 1 year (if it's christmas 2021) that they got until release I hope a 550-650 cars and more than 50 tracks then at launch (and gradual increase during years it with DLC and patch adding new cars and tracks until GT8 come out probably on PS6)

October-december is when the last 5 GTs came out so not sure why to expect anything different. Probably looking at around another years wait. Microsoft usually releases their Forza games in the fall as well.
