It's amazing that people still expect so much even after being disappointed multiple times when its painfully and repeatedly obvious that you shouldn't. It's like some of you guys love this unnecessary madness you keep putting yourselves in.

Part of me hoped for something, but most of me knew nothing was going to happen. There was no obvious hints at a new GT7 trailer, it's clear that PD doesn't want to drop any new information on their game at this time. and they probably won't for months after this.

Haha it almost feels like GT7 will have only a couple of new tracks, Trial Mountain and Daytona, few new cars now over the long silence.

My interest died out quite a few months ago.

We’ve only had one trailer from 6 months ago, the only new things shown since then have been the GR Yaris GTS DLC and the new Jaguar VGT (neither were specifically advertised for GT7, but given partnerships and timing I feel it’s pretty easy to infer will carry into GT7). Trial Mountain and Daytona were known since June, I don’t see where you get the data to have confidence to say content will be limited - we don’t have any data for anything.

PD has a track record of being too ambitious for their own good, overstepping the hardware they’re working with. I think it’s far more likely that PD have pushed really hard with ray tracing and are trying to ensure what they show is possible/can run with good performance when it gets to our hands. It’s easy to show cars and tracks but if the features or even engine itself doesn’t work/can’t run at stable FPS at the quality they advertise then there’s going to be huge problems.

Valid point Nick, NFS has been dying but as you stated there best game was in 2012 with MW as that is one of my favourite NFS games also.

What if I framed my point around the developer of Forza (Turn 10 Studios), would you feel that is also inferior to GT in comparison? We do need perfection in Gran Turismo games, that I agree on, as we love these games. But is that the right approach, and why leave us (the fans) in the dark.

The final could have been a prime opportunity to see either a Behind the Studio PD video feature on GT7 or even a New teaser trailer of a New track!
Well, look where Turn 10 ended up by sticking to the 2-year cycle development. Forza 5-6-7 wasn't the best, let's be honest. Weak progression, no new ideas or interesting features... assets are not consistent (some car models are 8 years old). Now they rebuilding the game from scratch to meet growing expectations. And It will take some time. I'm pretty sure we will not see a new Forza in 2021.
This is why I love GT games. They are crafted with huge attention to detail, a passion for technology and automotive beauty. And they not afraid to try new things... even if it's as radical as fully online GT sport. Because this is what moves the industry forward. Artists like Kaz or Hideo Kozima are setting the bar for everyone else.
The lack of communication is the other topic. I agree that they could be more open. But on the other hand look at what happened to Cyberpunk 2077. The communication department overpromised and overhyped the game as the result we have a bunch of people disappointed in the final product and don't even want to see the bright sides of the game which are many.

Yeah, I said "almost feels like", not it will have only 2 new tracks and whatever because its all we know since announcement.

Either way, might be difficult optimizing Ray-tracing to run beside 4K 60fps...

Problem PS5 is not as powerful as many expect. Compromises have to be made.

It depends on Sony when PD will be allowed to show or talk about GT7. Sony has a whole plan for the next year and are stacking up their first party releases, they don't just let each dev team decide when to market or spill details about their own games. We haven't gotten any updated info on Ratchet and Clank, Horizon Forbidden West, or God of War which is supposed to release next year but have yet to even see any sort of teaser graphics for the game or even a short synopsis about it.

Rumor is Sony will have another event in January or Feb after the new years.

We haven't even got Anything from Forza either.

Yeah, especially Ratchet which is supposed to be in the launch window. Other than the extended demo, we just as equally have no info on it as well. =/

Where did you hear this rumor, btw?

I certainly don't know either, but i've seen multiple people here at gtPlanet that kept repeating "Sony will held a State of Play in january/february!" over and over. Btw here's a link I found on Google.
Ah, Dusk Golem. Yeah, think I can trust him since he was correct on the ResEvil stuff. (Well, other than that stunt he pulled regarding PS5's power...)

Yeah, think this might be why Sony didn't show anything of theirs at TGAs as well as especially today.

(Nice Klonoa avatar there, btw, Nowax. ^^)

Bugs and content can both be fixed and added to respectively via updates, so I'm hoping for a Q1 or Q2 release.

As far as bugs are concerned, I'd like to think that most of the work being done ATM is on asset creation and refinement - tracks & their surrounds, cars, menus and whatnot, so IMHO bugs are likely to not be a major issue at this point in the development. IOW, I'd like to think that they've been refining and creating content and assets building on the stable (you'd think) base they created some time ago.

Fingers crossed in anticipation every day...

Yea, read the rumor from Dusk Golem since I follow him on twitter, and I believe he was right about a previous state of play showing in addition to the resident evil stuff.

Isn't he the same dude that lied about RE8 performance on PS5 just because the PS5 was receiving overwhelmingly positive reception compared to the Series X? Dunno if he can be trusted

yep, this is the guy that said that re8 struggle with 1080p on ps5 and run fine 4k on xsx, very reliable ;d (but to be fair, other resident games info he was accurate)

I was thinking that it's better to get gt7 in november and get a perfect game than have it in june and get a game with a lot of problems and bugs (look at cyberpunk)
I would agree if gt7 looks like game build from ground on new nextgen engine not as polished gt sport

Looking at the re8 trailer and gameplay footages on ps5, it definitely looked like it was running at 10fps in places. So I don’t think he lied about work-in-progress ps5 re8 performance more than just trying to spin and make it seem like the final result would be inferior to the Xbox version because of the weird fanboyish reasoning he gave for why he said it.

But it doesn’t discredit that he definitely has legit sources in the industry and his previous leak about when a Sony event was going to occur. I believe he used to work as a smaller indie dev and just kept in touch with people who moved on to other companies.

Q1 is already out with no announcement or promo yet.
Wait, is it already? I thought it'd start when, you know, 2021 actually hits? o_o

In march, there is Returnal. So, Ratchet & Clank and GT7 are after Q1.
Nah, Ratchet's gotta be at least February. Insomniac stated it was in the launch window, and that lasts until February at least. (Other people might define otherwise, though.)

February, it's Destruction AllStars. no chance to see Ratchet & Clank before April

Yes but destruction AllStars is coming out in February only because it got delayed. I don't think Insomniac would change Ratchet and Clank's release date because of that game

The PS5 launch window ends on may.

February: Destruction AllStars
March: Returnal
May - June: Ratchet & Clank
July-August: Gran Turismo 7
Sept- Oct: Horizon Forbidden West

Those are the dates i expect, but everyone knows many of those games take a delay after all
