If GT7 " news" after the first official vid had a taste ........
Probably it is like this .

So there are 200 people working at Poly. Still a small studio considering the importance of GT as a brand.
Every time I get reminded of this, I get mad at PD and Sony.
How is it possible that only recently they've been outsourcing considering how big the franchise is? But two things
1) it's still outsourcing and doesn't give me a good impression. It shows me that this project is temporary, to test the waters
2) the outsourcing still looks very small and didn't give them any significant improvement in terms of quality and quantity of content. If it was, we would have received a release date and a blowout of GT7 details by now.

PD will have their own virtual event early next year, something like the Copper box event. As much as I want to hear more information about the game, there's not much we can do at this point but wait. Chill out, fellas.

How do you know this? :)

Maybe using their money to hire more people instead of wasting a lot of them to make these "FIA Gran Turismo Championships" that not many people watch would be a better idea.

The stats from last year's events say otherwise, IIRC. There was an article on it posted here.

Kaz always being cryptic, but it'll be interesting to see how much "divine little details" we'll notice in GT7 from visuals to physics, or if it'll just be GTSport with very little advancements.

I do not want the game to be GT Sport 2.0 labelled as GRAN TURISMO 7, just NO......!

Kaz and Sony's receptiveness and mystery is very hypocritical, there have been other studios with maybe twice the staff capacity churning out AAA titles at pretty amazing workflow rates. One example is EA and Ghost/Criterion/Black Box who make the NFS games, now granted that's an arcade like racing game but and EA being much a larger corp, but come on we get those games quicker than GT and there not half bad, lol.

True, that I do not disagree with you TS050.

But, they have come out faster even after botched E3 reveals and scattered updates for NFS.

Don’t even compare. NFS is slowly dying if it’s not dead already... they are half baked, poorly made games... the last one that was actually good came out in 2012. I think we should appreciate the Kaz passion he puts in to GT and if they need time to polish it to perfection, please take it. It’s rare to see this approach in game industry.

I honestly think the release of GT7 should be delayed until at least the end of next year if the "Q1 / Q2 2021" date is still to be believed.

Scalping has been such a massive problem with the PS5 that the install base is actually quite a bit lower than the units sold at the moment. In Japan alone there were only 61,000 physical games sold or something so far which was less than one physical disc for each PS5 unit "sold". There are a bunch of these PS5 systems "sold" but nobody is actually using them because they're all sitting in a warehouse with a reselling price of $2,000 each. (The source for those numbers I just referenced was a ReviewTechUSA video).

So yeah, if PD releases GT7 before production of the PS5 can actually keep up with demand, their initial sales will be quite lower than they are hoping for, so they're probably taking their time right now not worrying about rushing this game out for the first half of next year.

Valid point Nick, NFS has been dying but as you stated there best game was in 2012 with MW as that is one of my favourite NFS games also.

What if I framed my point around the developer of Forza (Turn 10 Studios), would you feel that is also inferior to GT in comparison? We do need perfection in Gran Turismo games, that I agree on, as we love these games. But is that the right approach, and why leave us (the fans) in the dark.

The final could have been a prime opportunity to see either a Behind the Studio PD video feature on GT7 or even a New teaser trailer of a New track!

I really doubt scalping will still be a problem for six more months. I believe the PS4 became readily available by March back then, so...

I'd also say that March or April would be a good time to release it as that's when the next FIAGTC series starts if past history is anything to go by.

No point increasing the hype because it will just increase demand for the PS5. Not what Sony needs right now.
