The more I think about it, the more I think that Sony probably pushed PD to announce GT7 along with a trailer, even though PD wasn't really ready yet. It would also explain why the graphics weren't that much different from GTS. The way I see it, PD is strongly working on the game and new trailer will come once the game is...more like GT7? And that also explains why there wasn't a new trailer yet.
Even at the World Tour, Kaz never said these words : "Gran Turismo 7", rather "the future blabla..."
It's like for Poly GT7 is not a thing for now. No official section on the website, no interview. This is just a false start for the announcement. IMO, we can forget a 2021 release.

I wouldn't say that. Even the updated PS5 trailers still say 2021 for GT7, even if it's no longer planned for the first half of this year.
The updated trailer : "in development", no mention of 2021.
No mention of GT7 at CES conference. Even the "new" cars and tracks were planned for GTSport (Trial Mountain, Daytona, Bac Mono, the 917K....) It looked like GTSport because it was GTSport with the same perfectly clean windshield, the same 2D trees... And I hope Poly won't make the mistake to release a WIP game like GTSport with missing features.

Coming 2021 :

Destruction AllStars, Resident Evil 8, Deathloop and God of War Ragnarok aren't present. Pragmata is present for.... 2023. It doesn't mean anything.

Guys, 2021 is just starting

ps5 is quite powerful (maybe not in rt aspect as it's based on amd technology not nvidia) so I don't know why we should only expect subtle improvements even tough it's what we probably get after what we've seen in gt7 first trailer, ps5 is capable of generation leap (miles morales ps5 vs miles morales ps4 quite big difference, demon souls vs any souls game on ps4 big difference etc) in graphics and if gt7 is only slightly improvements it's polyphony fault not hardware
It really depends what you're going for. for example doubling the refresh rate and adding some RTS would be a big improvement over GT Sport from a technical standpoint. I honestly think textures, 4k at high refresh rates and effects are where it's all at now.

It's difficult to compare games of differnet genres and how one genre looks compared to another platform to platform because different types of games can optomise code in different ways. I do think that when GT7 launches it will probably look better than the demo we saw last year, but I think expectations can quite easilly be raised too high.

I found something interesting on my PS5 but it probably doesn't mean anything. GT7 is now 3rd in the row. About a week ago it was 5th or 6th but now it's 3rd

I would also say it'd specifically be at E3, but I think more and more publishers/developers are choosing to follow Nintendo in doing their own digital announcements, and I don't think E3 is gonna last for much longer, especially when I don't think they'll have E3 again until 2022 at the earliest, as people are still getting vaccinated. As far as I can tell, E3's days are numbered.

I feel like E3 is very much dead already as is. It was in a death spin the moment Sony decided not to show up for a second year in a row but the Pandemic just sped up what was gonna happen anyways. Even if the Coronavirus wasn't a thing, what's the point anymore? During a time when the Internet was nowhere near as refined as it is now and Gaming Magazines were a thing alongside demo discs (Remember those?), E3 was without a doubt untouchable and there simply was no other way. Now? Its outdated and surrounded by far more convenient alternatives as Nintendo first showed. I don't expect a 2021 E3, Its a piece of the past where gaming news was strictly stuck in Magazines that is now beyond obsolete in a world where just by having a Computer (or even a Phone) and an internet connection makes access to the latest news more instant. Even when they finally decided to let the general public in instead of continually walling it off to industry professionals, it still didn't stop two of the big three (Its main selling point) from deciding to ditch it.

It changes every time you log in. I wouldn't read too much into it.

Covid-19 cases just had a huge spike in Japan as of recent, btw. Unless PD has adapted well enough with working from home, I'm seriously starting to doubt it's going to release this year at all. =/

They should have adapted well enough in the past 10-12 months. I'd imagine home working has been a virtually permanent feature of that time for large portions of thier staff. I would certainly hope it has, just for the safety and wellbeing of the staff.

It's the same reason why motor shows have dropped off in popularity. There's just no need for companies to attend such events because the information is soo readily available to consumers.

E3 will likely continue but not as extravagant, and not in-person, even after the pandemic. I can see it becoming an online event like Nintendo and Sony already do themselves, but blended into one event. Probably streamed primarily on Twitch.tv.

One thing it does still have is digital draw. All gaming fans know E3 conferences are the ones to watch online because they have the biggest game reveals and info. It'd take longer to condition people to tuning into another online event as the "big" one to watch.

I checked my wish list and it’s still there dude
Oh okay

Maybe they've ditched the numbered entry again, next game will be Gran Turismo Comfort.
Ah, I see... Gran Turismo games are now named after driving modes from real cars. The one after the Gran Turismo Comfort should be Gran Turismo Eco and the one after that should be named Gran Turismo Normal.

My car has an All Weather mode, that'd make for an interesting Gran Turismo.
