I don't believe anything. I just wanted to emphesise the irony of "possibly" being closer to the release than to the reveal without any worthy information.
As for my personal opinion, I really have no idea but I would put my bet on fall if I had to.

Oh that's funny, because I have a muscle-wasting disease. I'm not mad but just keep that in mind when making your posts.
Obviously I was referencing the phenomenon guaranteed by starvation, in this case of our fodder provided by PD.

Sorry to hear about that, brother. I know all about long-term health challenges having suffered heavy-metal poisoning since age 8. It shuts down your hormones and ability to absorb minerals so there've been dozens of diseases and many hundreds of symptoms over the years. Can't for the life of me breach the 61kg (6'2") barrier and have been trying for 25 years, so yeah, believe me brother, I can relate. Doing weights actually causes me to lose muscle mass(!).

Sorry again. I'm sure you realise there was no offence intended.

The more I think about it, the more I think that Sony probably pushed PD to announce GT7 along with a trailer, even though PD wasn't really ready yet. It would also explain why the graphics weren't that much different from GTS. The way I see it, PD is strongly working on the game and new trailer will come once the game is...more like GT7? And that also explains why there wasn't a new trailer yet.

Yup, suspected that as soon as it was shown looking like 95% GT Sport, becoming more and more obvious it was the case as the days pass with silence. I mean, does anyone really think they wouldn't change the HUD even a tiny bit? That to me, along with not showing anything new in the footage besides cars and the track, was enough evidence that it was just a slightly tarted up GTS build. I believe data miners even found references to the new content in our GTS builds, further cementing that feeling.

I don't know how much better the graphics can get than what was shown in the trailer. The PS5 isn't the most powerful machine so a slightly higher res GTS with subtle raytracing details here and there is probably the most it can handle.

But other than that, I agree. Showing that a flagship title is coming at that huge live PS5 reveal event that had literal millions watching would have been a good way to hype the console even more, so PD were probably pushed to put something out no matter their progress on the game.

Better night effects and weather effects are the obvious two things they would've shown off if they were ready. Better damage is unlikely but possible, plus the track itself wasn't exactly looking too good, pretty sure the final product will be far better.

Nope. Apart from the one time with GT5 (Because you know, that long drawn out saga), never expect GT at an event like CES.

Woooooow......

Polyphony Digital is now one of the most SECRETIVE video game developers ever.:banghead:

ps5 is quite powerful (maybe not in rt aspect as it's based on amd technology not nvidia) so I don't know why we should only expect subtle improvements even tough it's what we probably get after what we've seen in gt7 first trailer, ps5 is capable of generation leap (miles morales ps5 vs miles morales ps4 quite big difference, demon souls vs any souls game on ps4 big difference etc) in graphics and if gt7 is only slightly improvements it's polyphony fault not hardware

I wonder if PD has GT7 ready and on their end they want to release it as soon as possible but Sony doesn't want to reveal any new information or release the game until there are more PS5s available for purchase in order to not have even more people complaining that they can't get a PS5.

ps5 has now 2 rt modes in miles morales, 4k + rt 30fps and dynamic 4k + rt 60fps, ps4 pro is dynamic 4k without rt 30fps, quite substantial difference and thats crossgen...

Personally I feel it's great news we don't have a release date yet following yesterday's announcements from Sony.

I am sure 2021 will give us some more news and actual trailer/updated footage of GT7 when PD are ready to share, either way me and my PS5 are waiting for the game....

What I find interesting is that they didn't use video which was secretly edited.

Well I doubt they're strongly connected to the main division.

Since it's January with no announcement I think being out by June is increasingly very unlikely.

With Sony, I'd rather expect anything.

But, as long as GT7 will be out in 2021, that's fine for me.

And why would it be out this summer? I really do think October 2021 is the earliest possible release window. Holiday sales are important. Let's look at Need for Speed for example. Typically, a new game gets announced at EA Play, which is in May/June, and then gets released in October/November. Obviously, GT7 has already been announced, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get more info until around that aforementioned May/June window.

I would also say it'd specifically be at E3, but I think more and more publishers/developers are choosing to follow Nintendo in doing their own digital announcements, and I don't think E3 is gonna last for much longer, especially when I don't think they'll have E3 again until 2022 at the earliest, as people are still getting vaccinated. As far as I can tell, E3's days are numbered.

No I don't personally think it will be out in the summer either, I was just commenting on the people still hopeful with the "first half of 2021" video posted above.

I'm expecting at least 5-6 months between the proper announcement with a release date and the release date itself, so if it is due for the Oct-Dec window then yes, it could be April-June before we hear anything.

I'm still boggled by the people that thought it would be out by the launch of the PS5. I really don't see this coming to fruition until the later half of the year either, more likely towards the winter season to maximize on sales, and that also allows enough time for PS5 sales to rise up in the mean time.

To be honest, I'm sorry you're in such a situation, but that was just an overreaction to something not related to your situation. I don't see why he'd have to watch what he says for something that we'd have no idea about in the first place.
