I see this comment often, but it’s a weird comment because it implies that new cars hold back development on new circuits. I don’t think that’s the case.
They dont have infinite money , Resources that they put into modelling new cars are resources they aren't allocating to tracks.

Not a single Gran Turismo game is nominated for the upcoming Playstation Generations Awards :

Strange...
GT1 : Double Platinum Award (1998)
GT2 : Platinum Award (2000)
GT3 : Platinum / Public / Best Graphics and Best Sounds Awards (2001)
GT4 Prologue : Gold Award (2004)
GT4 : Platinum Award (2005)

I don't have data from the PS3 era.

This is very much an awards ceremony for Sony to celebrate and deepen ties with Asian third-parties these days, it's not the scene for Sony first party stuff to show up any more.

You'll notice there's no Astro Bot in the 2024 awards either.

GT Sport was awarded the Gold Prize in 2018's version
GT6 for Gold Prize in 2014
GT5 for Gold Prize in 2011

This is new to me. I'm trying to access the Gran Turismo website on Chrome and it says it is not secure. Is anybody else getting this warning?
Is this related to the recent data breach of the Playstation network?

Works fine for me on Chrome from Germany.

Got it. So it must be because I'm on OS X 10.15.7 and I can't get security updates anymore. The same message appears on Firefox, Edge etc...

On smartphone I have no problem.
I'm not especially knowledgeable on the Apple software lifecycle so I don't know about that exact revision, but in general you really shouldn't be connected to the internet on a machine that no longer gets security updates. If that's true I would upgrade ASAP.

I'd like to see Custom Races improved, and especially the requirement to own multiple copies of the same car just to be able to run different liveries.

At the moment, one can race against a full field of the same car (with the same livery), so creating 'temporary dupes' is clearly not the problem. But if you want these to have custom liveries, they need to be selected from the garage with the livery already applied. Being able to create temporary duplicates and apply different liveries would make Custom Races much easier/quicker to set up.

I also thought about one-click car upgrades, and figured that the Tuning shop could have car-specific tuning packs, like Manthey for the Porsche 911. That would be pretty cool, and much easier than manually adding parts and then tuning the car.
In theory this shouldn’t be too hard of a feature to implement. Cars already have settings sheets, and in Brand Central you can swap between colors on the fly in the showroom. You’d basically just have a “saved style”, which would implement one of your saved liveries, tune sheets, and combination of GT Auto parts. The pieces are already there, it’s a matter of stringing tabs and code together to make this a feature.

Funnily enough NFS Underground 1 from 2003 has a similar feature in splitscreen, where they can modify the car from the car selection screen, or load from one of five or eight saved presets (limited by 6th gen console era memory cards at the time).
