Couldn't go more than that because I think I'd go crazy lol

To me it felt like more of a racer jet setting across the globe. Besides, it looked fresh. The topography visual looks way better from the teasers.

But the map still loses hard compared to old games like Burnout 3: Takedown and Forza Motorsport 4's World Tour menu

I didn't even think of that, day/night transitions. And yeah it could be! There's a lot of micro detail on the map. Maybe it could run at 30 FPS on PS4 but maybe PD prefers 60 on both in all scenarios in the game.
Though the current map menu does have day/night transitions too. Was actually doubting if the eariler world map would've been given day/night transitions.
I really hope they bring this style back in GT8. No idea why they dropped this map design, World Map is cool but this was cooler.
The current map, they really don't need to add the menu logos, if there are already buildings for each menu. Redundant. Just have the arrow point to the building, and have the name of the menu written.

It's a stylized diagonal rendition of the kanji for "kyō" (capital, 京).

If you look at the rectangle in the center of the Kyoto Driving Park logo you can see how it maps roughly to the rectangular section in the above image.
I'm sure this is indeed true, but... what a stretch. It's a country mile from the in game logo. Even stating the rectangle in the middle represents the middle of the kanji seems like a wild stretch of the imagination. It honestly looks 1000 times more like a piston. However, maybe that was their intention. A combination of both.

I feel like I'm in a minority of people who are actually looking forward to future VGT entries, especially if they end up being from famous design houses like Pininfarina or Bertone. In the former case, it'd actually be under the Pininfarina Automobili brand, perhaps alongside the Battista. I especially like the VGTs that allow certain brands to have a Gr.1 racer when they wouldn't have one otherwise, such as with Dodge. Furthermore, I wonder what brands could end up suddenly submitting another VGT, as we've seen with Jaguar, Peugeot, and Alpine? Maybe Jaguar could come to its senses - if only for a brief moment - and make a hybrid version of the VGT SV, so it would be eligible for Gr.1.

The only way I'm interested in VGTs is if they're rooted in reality. Make something tangible. But I don't think that's the purpose of them.

We need a new Red Bull car. And the RB17 would be a great addition for that since it's a real thing. Otherwise I'm not sure what manufacture would create a new "unlimited" racecar.

A new Red Bull X-series would likely be in doubt as Adrian Newey has moved to Aston Martin.

To replace the X2019 Competition, maybe a switch to the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro would be a good idea.

That would be great, but with a Japanese engine(Honda), it would be an absolute win for that partnership. Two legacy brands from the franchise in one car. ;) A fresh Gran Turismo halo competition car.

My favourite kind of VGT are the ones that preview future design language, and are a bit more restrained in concept. The wild ones are fun but the ones I feel the most immersed by (not that it's a pre-requisite of the VGT project) are the ones like the BMW VGT, Volkswagen VGT, and Bugatti VGT.

Not sure what the theme is, but I’ve been saying this for the longest and been doing my own race series with these cars in the past.

The CSL ‘71 was in the UCD recently and there are six-cylinder turbo models currently available. Would be cool for PD to acknowledge all these cars in a Weekly or new WTC or PP event.

While some people complain about the addition of 'useless' cars like Unimog, I honestly felt this way when VGT is added, that there's less real cars being added, and that VGT can make the car list feel less complete (the GT car list being outdated problem) despite reaching 500+ cars.

Though I don't fret much as there can be always newer cars added (so I don't complain about any real cars added, maybe wrong mindset to adopt in internet), and adding newer ones don't require deleting the existing ones like gotta delete VGT to make room for newer cars.
