Gran Turismo 7 Livery Editor - General Discussion Thread

Has anyone been making a list of wheels that retain their stock dish color when painting? I wanted to keep the dish chrome and have the inside gold, but I ended up going through two different options that ended up painting everything, and didn’t want to start throwing all my credits away trying to figure which work and which don’t.

I was going for this kind of look:

It's a major annoyance actually.
The easiest would be to boot up GTS and check there :D

Update 1.08 apparently corrupted liveries previously saved in the Livery Editor. The preview image of the save slots are not being displayed anymore and if the saved livery is loaded, all decals are missing and only the body and wheel Colors are loaded. Only enough, if a style has been saved with a livery, the livery gets loaded fine and I can edit it by "Create Livery on Existing". This is a bit frustrating, as I didn't save styles for all the liveries I've created up to this point and all those files are now corrupted and not editable anymore.

It's not exactly the problem I have but it might solve yours too. Try delete your saved data. If you're on ps4: ps4 settings>app data management>system storage>delete>gt7>select all>delete
If you're on PS5, there's probably something similar.

With Gen 3 coming next year, plenty of people seem to be doing V8 Supercar replicas onto the Mustang & Camaro. There is another car that I thought would look good as a Gen 3 Supercar though. The new Nissan Z. Thankfully Nissan did some cracker Altima liveries over the years, so I made up some of my favourites…

All of them are adapted a bit to fit the new car’s lines, and I’ve taken some creative liberties but tried keeping similar to originals. Weighing up if I should do more Altima - Z conversions and which ones. 🤷

These are all available on my profile, ThePitWalk.

Hotel Bellevue Genesis X

Second two-tone 'Hotel Bellevue' livery made in preparation for the Manufacturers test season. Did consider a few ideas for the Genesis X including an all-purple car, but settled very early on for a reversed pattern with the upper half mostly in W2 Liquid Metallic, and the lower half purple.

Extra touches of purple were added to fill in some of the upper spaces while not detracting too much from the silver base. One interesting aspect of the Genesis X's design in-game is that the top-front bodywork doesn't form the bonnet, but instead is part of the main body section. Another is the mesh/grille extending over the 'bonnet' between the Genesis badge and windscreen, which for the sake of completeness is extended over the roof and 'bootlid' with a black stripe. The colour for the rear oval panel can also be customised individually through being in the 'Other' section, so it presents plenty of opportunities for unique patterns to be created separately from the rest of the vehicle.

At one point, I did consider making the purple curve downwards to line up with the diffuser, thus maintaining a layer of silver beneath the oval. From some front three-quarter angles, however, this made the design look too top-heavy, so I eventually decided to make those elements curve up over the rear wheelarches so that they ran parallel with the shoulder creases. It also took me some time to work on placements for the main 'Hotel Bellevue' logos, which resulted in a custom application involving plenty of masking shapes. I will further elaborate on the whole editing and decision-making process in my Livery Gallery thread, by which time I should hopefully be able to prepare a suit to go with both Gr.3 and Gr.4 variants.

Link.

Had that random creative energy again yesterday and did another livery. I wanted to do the '93 Dieline SCCA Corvette but it looks like a pain in the butt. Saw some people had done similar Mobil 1 Corvettes but maybe not a super detailed job. Also a couple of the other liveries I've not posted yet.

So can the BBS RI-S, Enkei92, OZ Botticelli, RAYS GT-C, RAYS GTS, Work Meister M1R, Work Meister S1R, Work Gnosis HS203, Work Seeker GX, Advan Racing RG-D2, American Racing VN427, Motegi Racing Touge, and RAYS TE37V SL. At least that's what a quick look in GTS spat out.

Fair warning, if you come across this decal do not use it. Both times I have tried it locked up the game.

Almost 10 years old, time flies
Tell me about it! I was at the Altima’s first race for my first ever Supercars event. Funnily enough I supported the Erebus Mercedes that day, because those cars made a phenomenal sound!

One thing I have learned from editing other people's liveries so far, is that people are super lazy and generally don't adjust the Limit Angle. I'm assuming they just don't have any idea what that does.

So just to be clear there is no way to save a decal to your collection from an imported livery? A lot of the ones I want to use I cannot find via the search function but they are clearly in the game as I can import the livery...

Because the livery creator didn't share the decal, so maybe ask him if you need it, it's up to him.

And if they only own Sport and not GT7? I'm talking about imported liveries. My livery from Sport using someone else's decals.

Salween SR Widebody Replica. This car was in GT2 but the GT2 car didn’t have the full livery with all the decals and sponsors. I used the Saleen/Allen #55 from the 2000 Laguna Seca Championship for my reference. Had to make several decals for this one. It was a fun one.

If this is from an imported livery, it means he deleted the decal from his decal library on Sport.
Again, you can try messaging him.

I can't even see who made the decal because I can only see it when I open the livery editor. Is there any way from there to see more info on the decal? Am I missing something?
