Less than a month to go my anticipation is building.
Do say "Enjoy the Pro rendered frames".
Don't say "Enjoy less native pixels than you had before."

All jokes beside. I wouldnā€™t get too much into all these specs and numbers the whole time. Itā€™s the same on pc and an upscaled picture, especially with DLSS it can look better than native 4K. All this trouble around raw numbers alone doesnā€™t say anything these days in terms of picture quality.

And donā€™t be offended by the Pro console. No one will lose anything because of this console.
The ingame RT is a nice showcase but is it so important? For sure not.
Native 4K is offered by the base console and itā€˜s impressive. Is the upscale image less stable due to Digital foundry on the Pro console - yes. Will it be improved, most likely.

I don't care about online in ANY game to be honest. I take my time exploring the game, couldn't care at all about what's happening in the MP/online space.

I'm the same mate. Each to their own of course.

I loved MP when I initially played COD online in 2000s. And thought this is a game changer. More adrenaline, buzz etc.

But as the years went by I've moved to pretty much single player only again. I did try gt7 daily races and after the initial buzz, it got old quickly.

Online gaming of course has its plus sides and many prefer it. But I find it can be a bit more draining, harder to play when tired or just looking for more relaxing experience amd/or enjoy story/world without feeling like you're on a constant treadmill to be competitive and intentional fomo tactics many online games deliberately employ, that can lend itself to the game becoming too consuming/addictive. Whereas single player you can just dip in out as it suits, with minimal 'stress'.

I expect the frame rate to be super good. And hopefully more level of detail overall.
Iā€˜m hoping for VR improvements too.
Framerate isnā€™t an issue for me on the base model. Replays can suffer a tiny bit but thatā€™s not a huge issue. Also my VRR tv does help slightly.

so there's going to be a Spec 3 update for GT7 in November? I am Hipped up now. I hope there going 5 times of the content that in Spec 2.
There is absolutely no info about that so far.
We can expect the ps5 pro upgrade/settings with the update in early November, most likely.
Otherwise nothing is sure about any other kind of content.

To be fair, I did put a Spec III idle-thought in one of the posts about the PS5 Pro update, so maybe he's just read it there and then assumed the affirmative.

Draining being the keyword here. My younger gaming years are behind me so any motivation now to play games to begin with is to just relax and spend some time admiring and appreciating the game environment or game engine, e.g. Flight Simulator is ridiculously addictive!

If I do play Forza though, it's just to tune and test drive cars, hotlap them endlessly, etc

Ok so besides the 8K mode and the gameplay-enabled-raytracing mode with sub 4K res, is there gonna be a regular 4K 120hz mode?
That option is already available. Patch 1.31 enabled VRR which in resolution mode disables the 60fps limit, reaching an average of 90fps. With the PS5 Pro rasterization improvement (45%) that same mode should already reach 120fps in most cases.
And that's without taking into account PSSR which should allow performance improvements by optimizing scaling to 4K without requiring a native resolution.

Youā€™re right, but that mode doesnā€™t run in native 4K, does it?
