A small discourage to dirty driving, no pushing without penatly (in form of vehicle damage) :)
If only the AI were subject to this, but no, you must suffer for the sin of grinding Tokyo Expressway.

Also, it'll just barely dent the Sport Mode meta of running people off the track.

As you noted yourself, the grip isn't affected as the tyres aren't actually wearing more or faster. The visual indicator has just changed to be more representative.
I disagree. Yes, you do have good grip for almost the whole tyre life, but they also wear faster. I did the Spa 1hr, and tyres were gone before fuel was. I could have done 2 stints with 1 set of tyres before the update.

What I have forgotten to note:
- the AI is driving differently as before, bit I have no idea, if it is strategy or something else. Usually the Viper becomes 2nd or 3rd after me - now the Viper was never better then 5th, while the NSX was always 2nd after me.

BR K.
The AI will also be affected by the changed tyre wear, so if some AI car e.g. uses softs, they might suffer badly now.

Ive never experienced this before, regarding Gallo on Tokyo 12 laps.I did 6 races,3 times he pitted as usual on laps 5 and 9,2 races he pitted on laps 6 and 9,and the other race he stopped on laps 6 and 10.Like i said this is something ive never seen with this race since the first time i did it,also it seems the cars have slightly less grip. For example before the update through the twistys on Tokyo i could go at a fair speed through them but now i cant seem to maintain the same speed as before. This might just be a placebo effect but i dont know if they messed with the physics maybe?

I've never seen AI in Le Mans suffering so much because lack of grip, so I guess there must be a change there. I also feel less grip in hards.

AI changed somehow. Last days I was doing nothing but Sardegda grind driving same car. AI now seems to bump into player more after update, if you are too slow exiting corner with traffic, expect to be hit from behind. Also if you spin on straight AI won't try to evade you despite having plenty of time and space to go round.

And as mentioned before, cars now take damage much more easily, even slightest wall contact is enough.

The 918's hybrid system has been fixed and it now works properly. But the final drive is still stupidly long compared to the real thing.
I came here to post this. Here are the results of my top speed tests of the 918 Spyder on Daytona Tri-Oval in the previous build:

Version 1.19
Porsche 918 Spyder
Electric motors charged: 338 km/h
Electric motors empty: 338 km/h

In build 1.20 it can now reach 364 km/h on the same track with the electric motors charged. In both cases the car was bone stock on sports medium tires. Accleration feels better as well, obviously.

the engine and Gear box sound have bin improved on the nsx gr3. outside the car it sounds way more realistic to the real nsx gt3

On the T-GT there is a big Improvement on forced feedback and And vibration it’s is way better now

I also I feel there is a good Improvement on replays In retracing mode on ps5, No more stutters

For PS4 and PS4 Pro users, do you guys experience some kind of unstable connections after the update ? I don't know if it's actually my Wifi or not but it seems to do just fine on other stuff except for the game.

Yes! Tires definitely wear faster now: the last mission in "The Sun Also Rises" (Bathurst Gr3 Battle) is impossible now: the RH tires are dead by lap 6. :-/

Faster tire wear, means frequent pit stops, which means level 1 power fuel, which completely changes my racing strategies going forward now.

I used to start off conserving my fuel To get ahead my opponents while they go in their usual pit stops but even then I am noticing that I can pit in 3 extra laps ahead of them when it used to be 1 lap in the past giving me an extra advantage now.
HEre’s another untold change, faster pit stops, now fuel stops are insanely faster than before, I used to see that fuel number drag on but it’s fast now.

Watching the AI struggle with their tires is bliss to me, I have been grinding all events because i have been on cruise control thanks to not worrying about my fuel usage anymore now that my tires will likely go first anyways.

what’s even funnier is finally seeing more yellow Flags in a race also, but i was low key turning in the s turn in Spa in the pit turn and the vete was trying to get in but typical AI forced his way in and clipped me and yes the damage spun me out to the barrier on the other side, mind. You the track was 25% wet lol everything was red

For my experience no. Didn't try Spa, but at Tokyo Expressway, with the AM DP-100, the last couple laps used to be all tricky with tire wear. First try after the update, were my two fastest laps in the race, even if the infographic shown a lot mor red. As the notes, just the water scale changed.
There were some physics model changes on MR cars, maybe your increased tire wear was about that

Not true. Any kerb, any speed, nothing

You try the sausage kerbs

For my experience no issues with sausage kerbs and damage from that

no issues here on PS4

You're basically agreeing with what I said - tyre life is shorter, but while there's any tread on them, you have better grip.

There was a slight improvement in oversteer on the MR cars in the Gr.3 category. But still they are vulnerable and more fragile to drive than other cars.

Hi,

On Sardegna 800pp still always CRB. It doesn't matter how stupid you drive ;)

I experienced damage, when going to hard over some curbs, when the car "jumps". But the question is - is it the jump or the curb. ;) But so far - my experience is only limited to the GR010, so it might also limited to a few cars. Which would be realistic - as there are cars with more brittle suspension as others ... But finally we need more data on this issue ;)

No, totally disagree with you.
Crystal clear when I mention that I have 12+ laps of tire life at Tokyo Expressway while before I had 10 solid laps.

Tire life is grip, the rest is bullocks. You change tires when you have a drop of grip, not by the portion of red on an infographic compared to before.

If they changed the graphic to a bigger scale of red to be more comprehensive (like on a XY graphic when you adjust the starting scale of Y to be more comprehensive) you just have to adjust your mind to new scale.
You say you're punching purple laps but decide to change tires because in the old graphic the car was all over the place it all that red?

May not be anything to do with any update, but I'm sure TCS would always automatically engage when going off-road. Noticed it didn't for the first time today.

I can't be sure, because I haven't spent too much time swimming in the dirt recently (before Big Willow, lol).
