The quirkiness of Gran Turismo's car lineup over the generations is the spark that keeps the fire lit. It's why the series is so beloved.
Will be interesting what PD modelled in the interior, for VR.

It's the problem this entire game has. It caters to such a wide array of interests/cars that it's impossible to appease everyone, and that vocal minority who hates everything but the exact thing they want in the game will always come online to rear their heads and let everyone know how angry they are.Surprised not too many are welcoming the new Vette. The van is understandable but the Corvette is iconic. I thought Corvettes were generally welcomed. The C1 almost completes the Corvette family in GT7 and is a must have in any Corvette collection.
It seems like a much smarter option would be to cater the online events towards the road cars, considering they make up a majority of the car list, rather than the bland and samey Gr.3/4 cars that never get used anyway unless they're the meta.I decided to make an account just to express my frustration because this situation seems absurd. I wonder how many concurrent players are even actively participating in the sp portion of this game, especially when it comes to featuring these unpopular cars that nobody really wants.
The majority of online races in this game seem to revolve around gt3 or gt4 cars. It would be much better if the developers included at least one new gt3 or gt4 car in every update, rather than adding mundane regular cars that only a handful of people might drive once in single-player mode.
Give me your ideal 4-car pack for this update. I wanna see something. So in other words we get a Corvette and three irrelevant cars, nothing more. No classics, no races, just some trash. Polyphony really wants to fail.
I don’t have PSVR2 but I think PD is doing a great job showcasing the uniqueness of every car. Even the ones that are very similar. This attention to detail makes the game for me.Seems to me like people without PSVR2 can't appreciate the car selection as much as the PSVR2 users... In Virtual Reality all cars are special
What else can we do? It's been over a year, one can only have hope for so long. If the game isn't going to become what you want it to be, you have to either adjust your expectations, or play something else. Continuing to post about things the developers have no interest in fixing or changing is maddening.I truly believe the game is at a point where people are trying to make light of every single thing they can to alleviate the frustration from PDs priorities sometimes. Because based on the complaints and frustration I've seen before in the past over some of the new additions, it seems everyone has just accepted whatever is at this point.
I don't know, I'm just taken aback from it. I thought most of those people just stopped supporting since they don't seem to hear them out; or really even WANT to hear them out. What else can we do? GT is not, and never has been, exclusively about the world of organized motorsports.View attachment 1276245
Ambulance..?
As if all the safety cars weren't enough.
And 58 vette?
..great additions for a "race sim". 🤣
Now, imagine a new set of missions driving an ambulance car, because someone crashed during a race, while hitting cones or avoiding them. This is what I call the spirit of GTGT is not, and never has been, exclusively about the world of organized motorsports.
I'll put every penny I have on the new Ambulance being one of the most popular and used cars in the game. Not for those into serious racing, but for livery creators, those into odd-ball events, role-plays, photographry and so on. We seem to forget Gran Turismo is for much more than hardcore racers.I decided to make an account just to express my frustration because this situation seems absurd. The majority of players never go into Sport mode. Last time I read it was something like 15%. Even if it's double that amount now, you can bet a fair percentage only compete in the occasional event. As we see from most Sport mode players, they choose the meta car, so you have to wonder if new cars are wasted on them. The majority of online races in this game seem to revolve around gt3 or gt4 cars. OkayI believe it's the coupe
Sounds like another game I play...
This is based on a real car, though.Hmm... where?
There's no reference to the "goofy fictional race cars" of older GT games, just a weird mention of the current "goofy fictional race cars" looking "so bad compare to older days of GT too" (sic).
Given your subsequent objection I'm assuming that you meant to put "the ones in the" mid-sentence, but you didn't - and I can't read words that aren't there.
It's also hyperbolic. Stating that any car from GT7 looks "bad compare to older days of GT" is... exaggeration for the sake of exaggeration. Here's a "goofy fictional race car" from GT7 compared to its GT4 counterpart (so not even a 500-polygon PS1 car):

So bad... Definitely doesn't deserve to exist.
Didn't that car debut in 2008? I find it unlikely it inspired a car in a game from 2004 then.
The car basically debuted in 2004. In 2006 was it's first racing I believe in the Super GT GT300 category.Didn't that car debut in 2008? I find it unlikely it inspired a car in a game from 2004 then.
No it isn't, the GT LM from GT4 predates that real GT racing car by several years.
TBH, i think when people refer to racecars they're also talking about these. Who wouldn't want the Calibra, GT One and Speed 8 back.Don't get me wrong, I'm all for new racecars. But how about the new Le Mans Hypercars, more Group C prototypes, Group A touring cars (PD already have the 3D models!).
Watch them do a Barbie tie in and not one for the movie of their own game. That’d be peak PD.Call me a conspiracy theorist but the 58 Corvette may have its roots in the Barbie movie that just came out
the bottom right looks like some sort of McLaren to me, i may be wrongThis is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:
