@A_Higher_Place @VanQuins I don't see why the VR showroom wasn't available for normal players too, obviously you wouldn't get the same effect on a 2D screen but it would still be nice to look around your cars in the same way. It's one thing I really dislike about Gran Turismo going to Scapes instead of the old photo locations, you can't get up close and look around your cars like you could on the PS3 era or on things like the old Project Gotham Racing games

Surprised not too many are welcoming the new Vette. The van is understandable but the Corvette is iconic. I thought Corvettes were generally welcomed. The C1 almost completes the Corvette family in GT7 and is a must have in any Corvette collection.
It's the problem this entire game has. It caters to such a wide array of interests/cars that it's impossible to appease everyone, and that vocal minority who hates everything but the exact thing they want in the game will always come online to rear their heads and let everyone know how angry they are.

Didn't add the TS020? Game's dying.
Didn't add the 296 GT3? Game's dying.
No LFA? Game's dying.
Why are they adding an ambulance instead? Game's dying.

Meanwhile the people who enjoy the content that get added are usually off busy playing the game and most importantly, aren't spending their time leaving angry comments on the internet. There's plenty of people excited about the things that are coming (including the ambulance!) but they're just not part of the vocal minority this game's community has that loves to kick and scream about everything.
Anything I've seen from the player numbers shows its on a steady incline (granted all we can see is Sport Mode numbers, but it's a number that's constantly creeping up) and the game's also still continuously in the top 10 sellers for PlayStation across the world, happily much to the dismay of GT doomers.

I decided to make an account just to express my frustration because this situation seems absurd. I wonder how many concurrent players are even actively participating in the sp portion of this game, especially when it comes to featuring these unpopular cars that nobody really wants.

The majority of online races in this game seem to revolve around gt3 or gt4 cars. It would be much better if the developers included at least one new gt3 or gt4 car in every update, rather than adding mundane regular cars that only a handful of people might drive once in single-player mode.
It seems like a much smarter option would be to cater the online events towards the road cars, considering they make up a majority of the car list, rather than the bland and samey Gr.3/4 cars that never get used anyway unless they're the meta.
So in other words we get a Corvette and three irrelevant cars, nothing more. No classics, no races, just some trash. Polyphony really wants to fail.
Give me your ideal 4-car pack for this update. I wanna see something.

4 pages of comments, and while we finally have the Fintoff/Harris/McGuinness version of an ambulance, we don't have the Clarkson/Hammond/May version. Allow me to correct that oversight...

I truly believe the game is at a point where people are trying to make light of every single thing they can to alleviate the frustration from PDs priorities sometimes. Because based on the complaints and frustration I've seen before in the past over some of the new additions, it seems everyone has just accepted whatever is at this point.

What else can we do? It's been over a year, one can only have hope for so long. If the game isn't going to become what you want it to be, you have to either adjust your expectations, or play something else. Continuing to post about things the developers have no interest in fixing or changing is maddening.

I don't know, I'm just taken aback from it. I thought most of those people just stopped supporting since they don't seem to hear them out; or really even WANT to hear them out.

Now yes, PD has always had their own way of doing stuff, and have always been a bit more hands off with their community vs other developers, but this game installment is probably the worst I've seen of them in regards to blatantly disregarding feedback and just doing whatever they personally feel is best.

Now I don't know,
Maybe this is what the average GT gamer really wants in reality and they are listening.
Maybe they're still extremely old fashioned and don't worry about outside criticism and do things based off of their in house schedules and deadlines they already set.
Maybe they are basing stuff off a small in-house focus group before finalizing ideas.

PD just seems to be everywhere and nowhere right now. Like they're trying to tick every box they can.

I'll put every penny I have on the new Ambulance being one of the most popular and used cars in the game. Not for those into serious racing, but for livery creators, those into odd-ball events, role-plays, photographry and so on. We seem to forget Gran Turismo is for much more than hardcore racers.

The majority of players never go into Sport mode. Last time I read it was something like 15%. Even if it's double that amount now, you can bet a fair percentage only compete in the occasional event. As we see from most Sport mode players, they choose the meta car, so you have to wonder if new cars are wasted on them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for new racecars. But how about the new Le Mans Hypercars, more Group C prototypes, Group A touring cars (PD already have the 3D models!). There's already too much focus on Gr.3/Gr.4 IMO. I'm sure PD has all the data and knows which cars are popular with the entire community.

I want real Italia 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

2 trucks, 2 vans and not a single station wagon. Worst GT game ever. Pack it up, we're done here. :ouch:

The MC20 is so beautiful. I'm glad to see a modern Maserati car. The GranTurismo S was feeling very lonely since GT5!

The Corvette is a big coincidence to me. Not even kidding: couple days ago a friend sent me a red C1 Vette pic. This got me by surprise because she doesn't even like cars. She said that she bought a diecast for her nephew and seeing the little one so happy made her curious about the car, so she was trying to understand what she had to do to "complete the Corvette collection". We spent almost 2 hours talking about Vettes.
Now there's only 1 left, which we all know is the best Vette.

Hmm... where?

There's no reference to the "goofy fictional race cars" of older GT games, just a weird mention of the current "goofy fictional race cars" looking "so bad compare to older days of GT too" (sic).

Given your subsequent objection I'm assuming that you meant to put "the ones in the" mid-sentence, but you didn't - and I can't read words that aren't there.

It's also hyperbolic. Stating that any car from GT7 looks "bad compare to older days of GT" is... exaggeration for the sake of exaggeration. Here's a "goofy fictional race car" from GT7 compared to its GT4 counterpart (so not even a 500-polygon PS1 car):

So bad... Definitely doesn't deserve to exist.
This is based on a real car, though.

Didn't that car debut in 2008? I find it unlikely it inspired a car in a game from 2004 then.
The car basically debuted in 2004. In 2006 was it's first racing I believe in the Super GT GT300 category.
It wouldn't take PD much to throw on a wing and a rollcage, some race interior and get the car pretty close to what a race version would be. And they got it pretty close.

I'm very intrigued by this selection, especially that Toyota ambulance. I wonder what the new Extra Menu(s) will look like? Didn't we already have an Extra Menu based on the Corvette? Maybe we'll get one with Maserati, featuring that MC20, the GranTurismo, and the Merak. (I'm still waiting for a Lamborghini-themed menu - perhaps more specifically focusing on some V12 models!)

As for new events, I don't think we'll get any new events altogether unless we also get a new Bonus Menu (see: Super Formula), but if we get a new course, that will likely come with its own set of events. (I really would appreciate Suzuka West returning, too.)

The issue I'll always come back to is the Daily Races and how they relate to the car updates.

PD basically run Sport Mode as a de facto Gr3/Gr4 mode, especially in GT7 where Daily Race A is now a Forza-esque ********.

Therefore, the only value to me is when Gr3/Gr4 cars get added.

In principle I'd love to have old muscle car shootouts at Laguna Seca, or a bunch of vans around Tokyo, but PD just won't change the status quo. Even for the Daily As, they're usually one make races which is a shame by itself..
