Gran Turismo 7 Update Coming Next Week

Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has confirmed on social media that a new update with fresh content for GT7 will be coming during the week commencing July 25...
6 days ago I aquired car no.433 out of 433. Here is the link
I hope 30 mil. Cr. will be enough to purchase 3 upcoming cars to have 436 out of 436.

Looking forward to buying these 3 cars.. not looking forward to not having anything worthwhile to do with them ingame except for whatever i make up myself.

Guess they will be 800pp cars and i will use them to race the 800pp events.. once more.

Imagine if each car had 10 events over the many tracks in the game, no wait.. this is GT7 unlimited untapped potential..

This pace of content is really sad to see. The game needs so much more than a smattering of 3 cars every month.

I understand that the trailer is only showing the cars again but even if they add events I hesitate to call that content as it's the absolute bare minimum they can (and should) do.

My tone could change when the actual update drops but the previous ones haven't been anything substantial. Even the Gr.1 and VGT events they added are worthless because of the low payouts and some are even essentially impossible because of the ridiculous boost levels they gave the AI. I struggle to get excited for new events when that's the precedent they have set.

I’m hoping that there is something decent in the patch notes when we get them. Maybe the first few actual endurance races and of course the coveted ability to sell cars (although I fear like in sport, we can only sell cars we’ve bought and can’t sell gift cars!)

I concur with some of the voices in this thread to be honest. 3 cars isn't very much, with no new tracks it'll have to be an action-packed update from an event perspective to make me feel this update is anything to shout home about.

The cars are interesting, for sure, but I, personally, don't care much for the classic cars like the maserati. I like the nostalgia of the Silhouette, but without any equivalent cars it'll be slightly pointless other than hot-lapping and the Pork? Meh.

We need more emphasis on fixing issues with the game than adding content,
Currently there's no incentive to use the existing content with the low paying custom races, No stability in lobbies to use the existing content and a handful of high paying Arcade races to use existing content.

As mentioned previously if PD gave us the ability to create and save and share our own Championships and gave custom races atleast 4-5x the higher payout for longer races i'm sure that would be enough to hold alot of us over until they add more actual events.

If I do a 1hr race at La Sarthe I should not recieve a measly $80k, 1 hr custom races should be atleast $1million imo with it doubling for every hour. Reason being that there are already events that pay upwards of 400-700k that take no more than 30 mins to complete.

The cars look good so far but i'm curious to see how the Skyline performs as it will probably be placed in Gr.3 and might not be very competitive against more modern Gr.3 cars but then again I don't know much about it's performance IRL to come to enough of a conclusion.

I would have thought it'll drop into Gr.4 like the Alfa 155 did. I can't imagine the performance of an early 80's touring car would keep up with anything in the Gr.3 category.

I'd say the same. The car has ~570hp and weights 1005kg but its aerodynamics were eyeballed from other cars without ever seeing a wind tunnel
But maybe PD is smart and actually puts it in Gr.5 as a single for now. Thought I bet they'll still mess up the BoP :D

4-5x??? Try 20-30x...

A Gr.1 24 hour race (highest category), with a full grid of 20 cars, where you start last on a rolling start with 50m between cars and with the AI on Professional (hardest difficulty) pays out this:

customrace.jpg

A 24 hour race where you select every option of it to not be on your favour and you get paid the same as 1 or 2 races from the WTC 800 that you can finish in 20 minutes with much more favourable conditions

At 20-30x the payouts, this would be between 8.6 to 13 million credits. Considering that we have events that give us anywhere between 1.5 million to 2 million per hour (Tokyo, Sardegna, Le Mans, Spa) and if you multiply those figures by 24x it would be 36 to 48 million, even 13 million for a custom 24 race seems unreasonable, but still infinitely better than 400k. Someone in the back-end code department really smoked some lit stuff to come up with these numbers.

And this isn't taking into account that a 24 hour race is much harder to finish than doing 24x 1 hour races... As you need to do a 24 hour race in one setting while you can do a 1 hour race and then go to Sport Mode or enjoy something else.
So, the more time the race takes to be completed, the payouts should actually increase exponentially, and not the other way around.

918 shoved right into the doubter's faces
It was the one most people were having doubts about it, but most of it was because of the odd lighting that was giving some lines that the car doesn't have, like "looking like" it had 2 lines on the roof instead of 1.

But it was still quite obvious from the spoiler and the "widebody"...

And it's also the standout car of these 3, which seems to be always the pic for these articles.

Am I or am I not on the wrong console? I’ve never used an XBox but always a PlayStation. I think GT7 is pretty amazing but I do see the pictures of the cars in Forza, and they look pretty good to me. Do they have better updates? Better races online and offline? And one mega important point no VGT. I don’t know if Forza players complain about their game like I see some people do about GT7. I am looking forward to this update as it features an historic car. But although I know very little about Forza I do know they won’t be receiving a VGT car in their update.

Trust me the forum on Forza Motorsport is complain-city compared to this. And its not unjustified. It took years do get delta times or a penalty system. And they launched both features at the end of the life cycle of FM7. Thats why I switched to GTS/GT7. Forza Horizon on the other hand is a different story.

I don't even hope that there will be more then 3-5 events, including slow cars with low pp. I have tired to hope to get a lot if stuff. It's so boring, cos there is only half amount of events GT Sport (there were more then 300 event at the end). I can't play GT Sport cos of slow AI, but there is no to do on GT7, and updates are too boring. New Cars? What I need to do with 3 new cars? I want to get 10-20 new events to drive.

I'm not here to bash Forza but one thing Forza players DO get is car models that are 5 or 6 years old and are just being re-used over and over again. FH5 has some very good looking models but the quality varies from car to car whereas all of the models in GT7 are absolutely gorgeous.

There will have to be more events now for the cars coming

They do. A Lot. Sometimes rightfully, other times not so much.

Update structure is similar with avg of 4 "new" cars for FH4/FH5 (sometimes new to the franchise, otherwise just returning from prev. games).

Have to mention that you unlock said cars via limited time events only (Weekly in nature and take maybe 30 mins to obtain the car). The cars will be cycled around periodically and cannot be bought outright (unless from the auction house which is Player to Player).

Online has very little in terms of fair racing unless you race with a specific group. FM7 has a specific lobby that has a penalty system like GT but no Sportsmanship rating. FH5 has no ranked mode, so avoid if you are looking for proper racing in public lobbies.

As for offline, AI rubberbands at higher difficulties and is dumb at lower ones.

As for recent cars, FH5 has about 100+ 2018 and older models out of 600 total.

I find GT7 so underwhelming at present.

The daily races started off so good, week 2 was the best, ever since, down hill and now very boring. I am so sick of rolling starts too, you're either an alien that has set an amazing time and bored out front, or you're put with other types of aliens who you can't catch no matter how perfect your lines are driving style is.

I actually had more fun on GT Sport than this so far

I know many will defend this game, and there is reason too in many respects

The only thing that will bring me back is VR support with PSVR2, until then, ACC it is, and I wish you all a very good day
