@Famine

Small error in this paragraph,

"Finally, in the top right corner, there’s the Maserati Merak. This is a V6 derivative of the Maserati Bora, and indeed the two cars are almost identical up to the B-pillar. However the Merak features a reworked rear end, in part dictated by the different engines, notably including an open rear with “flying buttress” style C-pillars instead of a glass-covered compartment."

I think you meant to put top left corner, as the top right is the GT-R

The Merak looks cool. Don't really care about anything Nissan and especially an almost-duplicate Miata... At least no VGTs this time.

Kinda hoping for a new track, at least. It's been a while since we got Watkins Glen.

What are the odds we get an obsolete 2018 version of the GT-R instead of the 2020?
If you mean that GTR GT3 - the 2020 version externally is the same thing as the 2018 just the 2020 version got few things improved:
Optimized positions of switches in the cockpit
Introduction of PDM (Power Distribution Module)
Upgrade of ABS/TCS

4 new cars? I did not expect that. Perhaps things are looking up and the updates will be bigger from now on. But I'm probably wrong.
The day after the update:

“Due to a scheduling error, the Maserati Merak was unintentionally added to the game in version 1.25. To keep in line with previous updates, we will be deploying update 1.26 during a maintenance period on Friday, 21st October, lasting from 08:00 - 09:00 BST.

We apologise for the inconvenience and promise that the Maserati Merak will be included within the next update.”

Drat. Four new vehicles and theyissed a great opportunity. They shoulda been as follows:
1998 F-150 Nascar Edition.
1998 F-150 Lariat.
1998 F-250.
1996 1/2 Expedition.
Those could all be raced on a GT version of Red Dirt Raceway in the central US. We only have Daytona and Northern Isle
and Route X for North American oval tracks, so we're severely lacking and a rally one would be so cool! Or better yet, let's do State Fair Park (40 miles from Red Dirt Raceway) and have the Devon Tower and the Skydance Bridge in the background! Or we could just do OK route 74 at rush hour.

Oh and a Lincoln Blackwood because we need something other than Ford...and GT Planet needs a different smart aleck besides me.
I'll be looking forward to the update they have planned. I wanna see if they're gonna put me back to using the Murceilago or the Cappuccino at Tokyo. :)

Happy to see 4 cars instead of 3, and externally happy that it’s a week earlier than expected. Sadly I could not care less about the 4 cars themselves. While it’s good to get a “modern” GT3 car, it’s not one that you’ll see on track in any current events, so I feel like it’s out of place. Same with the miata. I 100% would want all the Miata’s in game, but right now feels like the wrong time for it to be taking up 1 of 4 slots. The older skyline is cool and a welcome addition. Not a big fan of the Maserati but I’m sure there’s plenty who are so it’s also not a choice. Now they just need to start dropping patch notes PRIOR to the updates, and also do another post to the community giving us a timeline for fixes/major content additions and in 6 months the game will be in a good place lol.
Have you watched Super GT this year? Or Super Taikyu?

Upgraded or not, it's still an R35 GTR built for the same GT3 regulations. It's still powered by a VR38DETT, it still has a six-speed semi-auto gearbox and an FR layout, so it's hard for me to see it as anything but a facelift. I find it a bit strange to add new versions of existing racing cars in updates because they make the old ones obsolete, so the car list isn't expanding in the same way as it would if the car was completely new to the game.
They did the exact same thing with the Lexus RC F GT3 in GT Sport and some people still chose the older one so I don't see why that's a problem. By your mindset, the Audi R8 GT3 Evo is still an Audi R8 built to the same GT3 regulations as the 2015 car (Which by the way has not been replaced and is still available to be chosen). Again, not seeing the big deal here when people clearly have favorites.
What are the odds we get an obsolete 2018 version of the GT-R instead of the 2020?
Why would that be a big deal when as demonstrated with the 2019 Audi R8 LMS EVO, you could be able to update it to the latest version?. The difference isn't that huge like it will be between the 2013 car and the 2018 (Because you know, its approaching ten years OLD at this point) That's the beauty of GT3 Evos: You don't have to buy a new car, you can simply purchase an upgrade kit to the latest version.

PD just announced a Japan-only Mazda competition starting next week, which has the Roadster NR-A in it:

Ultra disappointing if true. The NR-A uses the same 1.5L engine as the ND already in the game. I was really hoping for the RF version in the data mine which not only looks very different, but also has the 2.0L engine.

I mean, the NR-A is something we could make a convincing version of in GT Auto... I know, because I did just that.

While I love that they’re seemingly adding the rare GT-R from 1973, I couldn’t care less about another R35. It’s a current car that’s so old that it also makes you nostalgic. Mixed opinions about it to be honest, and I always feel the Skyline years were the real deal for the GT-R.

As has been said before, they abandoned GT7 already. The cars they are releasing now was supposed to be season dlc for 15 bucks. Instead, they just release it in small slices and that will be it. No real patches, no further development of the game. Somewhere else I read that PD has 15 ppl working on GT7 currently. Let that sink in.
