Makes me wonder, why have a Tesla if you don't like it? Me personally, I don't really like Tesla's in reality, but I'm okay with them being in the game. Go figure.
I didn't like Tesla's irl until I rented a dual motor Model 3. The torque is addicitve and you can slide that puppy too. Yes, the digital UI is too much for my taste but I was surprised how much I liked the car.

Great update coming. Hopefully a new track (Silverstone, COTA, Sebring or VIR anyone?) too, new races and a first pass at Sophy too. And I'd like to see the VR garage feature provided to us non-VR owners too.

I sincerely hope that 7 cars isn't the representation of "something big", then again, PD never fail to disappoint when it comes to delivering disappointment. Something big is "many more events allowing us to use the massive diversity of cars that we already have" and restructured economy so that we can have fun smashing out laps on all the magnificent tracks, not just three of them!!! The GT community put up nearly a thousand comments after the last sad update - lets hope PD was listening... it's amazing that people still care after the relentless soul bashing we have copped since they dropped GT7. I was foolishly hoping that nenkai's 'something big cooking" was Kaz finally responding to the passion and desire of our community - more events & fixed economy - a way to massively improve and extend the game for minimal PD effort............. but if all this build up was for errrr..7 cars..... then, oh my!

Christ mate this is just the silhouettes of the cars. Relax a little.

I'm astonished how people don't get yet that the silhouettes show only the cars without spoilering anything else. For the rest of the update's content you are supposed to wait for the trailer (or patch notes) before giving any definitive judgements about the update itself... Patience man, it's still too early to talk about the rest. We have to wait until the trailer arrives first, otherwise it's just empty talk. Regardless, with 7 cars it looks pretty promising! That being said, finger crossed!

Eh, station wagons exist for practicality. You don’t need that in GT7.

Probably more I'm missing. Of course, we also need the non-wagon versions of these cars as well; Because this is a Gran Turismo game.. and there must be as many cars a possible. This is the way.

It's actually baffling. It's been the exact same for so many years now yet there always without fail we get the "that's it? just a few cars?" posts.

I'm relaxed mate - couldn't be more relaxed, but every month we hear the same old "this is just the silhouette's, wit for the trailer, wait for the patch notes, etc... " and the majority of the time, despite so many people getting their hopes up and speculating about what may come, we end up with scapes, dinner suits for our avatar, budgies that we can put boots on, weather maps, tired old menu books and stupid deals like - buy a 2 million dollar car or wait 3 weeks for a used car so that we can get an engine ticket which delivers us an engine we don't need lol - it is pretty sad! Now maybe once or twice a year, we may get surprised with a new track announcement (look at how many we've got since release) but mostly, we just get the same boring crip attached to the silhouettes... this is the norm, not the other way around

I mean, true, but that's a VERY BIG update after all, the biggest ever of the biggest ever so it is supposed to be good because it's the biggest ever, so why not putting faith into the biggest beast update ever? :gtpflag:

lol.. 90% of the talk in this forum is "empty", speculations, hopes, wishes, unnecessary plssing contests, etc... Be real man, hope for the best, sure, we all do. Fingers crossed that a magic unicorn trailer will pop the night before and make everyone's dreams come true, and satisfy all the hard core gamers who still leave room for a little hope on their shelf that the game will deliver to them more than the current 3 tracks that you can earn half decent credits on, and more events that you can race more of your precious collections on - so many cars in this game that don't have a race to enter. But I am astonished how a few people don't get that silhouettes are mostly followed by a very formulaic content drop... scapes, menu book, a small collection of rubbish races and the engine swaps (which I love). This is the norm, like roulette tickets giving you the worst prize is the norm. Very occasionally, you will get a good prize from a ticket and very occasionally you will get a pre dlc trailer with something extra and substantial like a new track or the ability to sell used cars - but I am not into self delusion man - I am a realist... but I live to be surprised in a happy way :)

No you're not a realist. A realist doesn't act pessimistic about reality, a realist is neither positive nor negative. You're a pessimist, and like all pessimists you take everyone else down with you.

Ok, but that's the norm for normal regular updates, this one will be a BIG one. So, what you are spitting is only a half truth. It's not the same thing. Look at the February 2023 or November 2022 updates and you'll get what I mean. Big updates are big after all, right? And no, you are not a realist but just a pessimist and a monaer as many other users there.. Stop whining and spreading negativity for no reason, you wouldn't be happy even if PD drops 40 races, 3 tracks and 20 cars all at once in one update.. You would still have to complain because it's in your DNA. Stop it.

LOL I would never ever ever EVER put faith in KY or PD to deliver anything, I can't imagine how anyone could (or would) after the debacles of GT5, GT6 and GT7.... I loved GT, loved GT2 (2 player split screen racing Speed 12s on Grindlewald reverse.. still makes me chuckle) - won a PS2 + game at an open promo contest in the rundle mall in Adelaide hosted by Sony on a hot summers night, loved GT3 (got my first wheel setup), adored GT4 (getting gold in the last international license test (SLR around the nord was a definite highlight, but also loved throwing the GT350 & the low poly count white vanishing point 70 challenger around that little japanese track (motorsport land?) - those 2 cars sounded so good). GT4 was probably my fave. The only good thing about GT5 was that it allowed my to win a PS3 console in a time trial event held at Harvey Norman in Alice Springs. GT6 was horrible and then GT7 arrived with the most beautiful graphics, great car list, plenty of tracks, fantastic sound, the potential to be the most holy of holy editions... and then we ALL know what happened... so, no sir, no faith ever again in that bunch - they are not in touch with what fans, buyers, customers, players want- they just go along with sony money men and KY's abstract visions for his rolling car library. But that don't mean that a little piece of me hopes that before devs walk away from this one, they can deliver the most commonly requested updates to elevate Gran Turismo 7 to EPIC status - it is possible, and it would not even be that hard, I just don't think it aligns with KY's vision....... but in the end, what do I know - his world is not my world

In other words, folks, what we have here is a classic case of someone whom over-hyped themselves, got disappointed, and now can't stop being pessimist.

I am a realist, not sure what you are as I obviously do not know you or anything about you. Every word I put down is considered and true. I truly hope for everyone's sake that much personal joy is delivered in the next update. I spread love, not negativity but the point of these forums is discussion. You may be happy to lie to yourself but I keep things real - there is a word for someone who goes on personal attacks because they disagree with someone's opinion and you sir, have said plenty! As for my expectations, as an invested member of the GT fraternity (25 years of playing, like many of us, thousands of hours and dollars invested in the franchise), my opinion and feelings and expectations are as valid as anyone's, even yours..... I don't need more cars, I don't need more tracks - just events to use my cars on and a different economy - that would be my happy place. I am not alone in wanting this. I respect your opinion to view things differently, after all, that's clearly your DNA

In other words, folks, what we have here is a classic case of someone whom over-hyped themselves, got disappointed, and now can't stop being pessimist.
you must be young :)

I get what you're saying, and no doubt the single player game part of GT7 is still woeful (although just fixing the economy would help that by itself as there are a lot of races now [not enough though]) but this time we do have Nenkai's comment about "Kaz cooking". I can't see how 7 cars alone would fit that definition, so it does seem that there's more to come this time, compared with other updates.
But I'm being very cautious until we actually know more.

Honestly sounds like you just got old and are looking at all the games through rose tinted glasses, annoyed that you can't capture the magic you felt whilst you were younger again.
Nothing is stopping you from driving silly fast cars with a friend like you did in GT2, playing with a wheel like you did in GT3, grinding for golds and throwing around muscle cars like you did in GT4. Those are all sandbox things or all things you can do in not just GT7, but GT5 and GT6 too.

It's okay to move on, or at the very least, accept that you've moved on instead of clinging onto a 20 year old memory, lamenting around about how things aren't the same anymore. They might not be the same, sure. But what you are reminiscing about never went away.
