🤬

Accessing my garage doesn't show difference pre vs post patch. So values in Arcade Mode could just be different.
So, no indication of PP recalculation so far.
Ok, so the game recalculate PP after car selection:

Guess we're just gonna ignore the amount of issues still plaguing the game that frankly should be more of a concern then the content not being as "Grand" as everyone wanted.

I think PD was hoping we would be as hyped for a new Spa layout as we were to get the original version in Sport. Having this as the first "new" track added to 7 is about as big of a way possible to kill the hype.
Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come...
They said "New Layouts", not new tracks. As usual, people expected way too much from this update given the state the game still is in. Lets not forget GT Sport also started with a modest update that only had 3 cars in it (including one that people again moaned about because it wasn't some fast supercar featured in multiple other games) before future updates had far more cars in them.

Seriously, 25 years of this franchise and people still can't fathom lowering their expectations...

At the point I had sent this, it was 2 minutes after being DCed for maintenance and it matched exactly what my PS4 said at 0800-1000 utc/1800-2000 AEST. Either PS4 maintenance started at a different time or it started at different times for different regions
It seems the PS5 got the update/patch first then PS4 owners got theirs afterwards.

Information about update:
Where are new events? I can't see it. What should I do with 3 new cars and new layout without new events?
PD has not released the patch notes yet. That will happen sometime in the next hour and fifteen minutes. We don't know what all has been added as far as events or what bugs have been fixed or what changes been made yet. All we know is the cars and track layout. Relax for now..

Is there any shot this “new” Spa layout could have the renovations they just finished this year? It seems like waaay too quick of a turnaround for PD to have that ready, unless maybe they partnered with Spa for rapid updates. If it’s literally just a pit lane switch I don’t see why they even needed to bother patching it unless it expands weather/time options.

It's not. It just moves the pitlane in a way that fixes a few major issues that spa had for online racing. Is it incredible "new" content? No. But it does fix a legitimate problem.

Your ISP can't guarantee a stable connection?
F
No - as far as I'm aware if you pause the game and put your console into rest mode during a race, the disconnection of the console being asleep means your rewards will be 0 when the race finishes.

Not many people have time to do a 24h race in one sitting, or in one stint of console uptime, so if PD added these they would need to add a proper race suspend feature.

If you've found an ISP that can guarantee weather doesn't damage lines, I'm all ears.
In the UK my provider uses underground fibre... Other than specified maintenance which they e told me 48 in advance of our connection hasn't gone down since it went live a year ago

Nope. Its the same track. I just drove it in an MX5 in arcade mode

3 new events.

"- An engine start-up sound now plays when changing cars."

Neat.

Just because people don't immediately talk about it, doesnt mean something has been ignored. It's early morning and the game just came out of maint. You are quite tiring.

I guess it's safe to say you don't own either car in real life then. Lol

Anyway, as a 2022 BRZ owner I am happy to see it finally join the game instead of only seeing the Toyota version all the time.

And, for us who host and set up league races having both cars in game from the same generation make it great for setting up spec league series and races.
I don't... And???
Well, to be honest, the BRZ is the "orginal" per se, so I really am not that bothered, but it doesn't change the fact that they are a carbon copy of each other. Aside from slight cosmetic differences.

Unless:
Experience completely new for GT is not only expecting the cars but also wondering what modifications they will have. Maybe to make BRZ a bit different you will be able to apply some different bodykit, like they did with two Integras.
This happens. If the BRZ ends up with different mod parts, then it's all good. Otherwise, it's just another near pointless copy. But still, can't be too bothered. 2 "copies" isn't that bad in comparison to what we had in the past with like 5 or 6 Miatas, Skylines, and other JDMs that were exactly the same.

- The ability to do SP endurance races with a time factor x1 without being caught by 1500 km/h fast weather

You will probably think of more...
This would be great. In the races that take 4 hours or more, it should definitely have 1x settings for everything, including weather.

For the 1 hour races, I don't mind. They are not that "endurance" to begin with.

24h races are impossible with forced-always-online

If it loses connection, everything is gone.

Another reason why they need to fix the always-online-joke.
Indeed. If we are doing a 24h race, and somewhere along the way, PD have their servers going down for some unknown reason or you get some wild internet connection issue... That will feel really bad. Imagine that happening at the 23 hour mark during the race. The probability of this happening is low, but it still exists.

This always online requirement is nuts.

An engine start-up sound now plays when changing cars.
Ooh yeah

It is now possible to enter some events by renting Event-Specified Cars
Adjusted the geometry calculations algorithm for the suspension. This has resulted in improved traction for rear-wheel drive cars and lessened reactions to weight transfer

From my experience (owning a badly made PS5 which constantly pops up that the LAN cable is disconnected) if you lose connection it's okay as long as you're reconnected, and signed into PSN by the end of the race/the money screen. Obviously it sucks in general and for online racing specifically but it's not the end of the world for 24 hour races.

Also in the UK. Lines are underground along the main A road, but from there, they're overground to the towns/villages.

Generally get between 5-10 weather related outages per year.

The "always online" is a core component of GT7, which Kaz will never remove or change.
He does have to change, or rather, remove it at the end of the game's lifcycle though. Otherwise he will brick the game. And that's absolutely anti-consumer, he could get sued for this.

But of course, I think we are still a long way for that to happen.

" - Adjusted the geometry calculations algorithm for the suspension. This has resulted in improved traction for rear-wheel drive cars and lessened reactions to weight transfer;"

So, does this mean that cars won't be spinning out after applying minimal throttle?
