About 5 years ago I was on a surf trip in Bali, and they were selling knock-off Bvlgari watches on Kuta beach..... and they were still a few hundred dollars!!! I asked the fellow pedaling them how much for a thin-banned timepiece that I could wear on my right wrist, and he winked and said "free".

Annnnnnnnywaaaaaays.... I'm willing to bet that if someone can afford a real Bvlgari watch or wears Dior, then they're probably not playing Gran Turismo. As an everlasting PD-lover and VGT-hater, even I'll admit this is stupid to have to wait until February unless you have an expensive QR code 🙄

Wow, someone read an article about the KA24 and claims to know all about it. Bravo.

Damn straight. I also know that the effort to add these other variants is a slight fraction of the effort required for a brand new car.

An older RS6 would be nice, but yeah I couldn't care less about any of the other cars you listed. That's the beauty of opinions, everyone is entitled to them and none are more valid than others (in this context, at least).

See, there you go stating your opinion as fact again. It's not, sorry.
Oh, this is great.

I surely never learned anything about the KA putting a GT28RS turbo with my cousin on his S14. Custom intake and modified factory exhaust manifold, injectors, Walbro 255, tuned on megasquirt... made about 340whp (through an auto!). For this build, I stayed in an isolation chamber and directed him remotely so I wasn't tainted by knowing anything about that darn KA.

And I think I was in a fugue state when I KA swapped my buddies Datsun 510 wagon. All those discussions weighing the KA vs an NA SR, and even a 13B rotary... gone. The engine and trans mounts just appeared out of nowhere, the engine, trans and wiring pulled itself out of the S13 donor, and everything assembled itself! It was a miracle! When I came back to consciousness the car just ran!

The two hardbody Nissan pickups I owned over the years... I just never once opened the hood on either of them to ensure I still didn't learn a single thing about that pesky KA... When the '94 developed a rear main leak I just shook up a can of flex-seal, punched a hole in it, grenade-tossed it under the hood (without looking!), and shut it. Fixed her right up!

And all those years I spent wrenching professionally, being a part of a close knit crew of guys maintaining and repairing all manner of KA powered rig and Nissans in general, and swapping, modifying, and building a huge range of vehicles... all erased when I ate a popsicle too fast and fell into a 3 year coma. Life has a plan!

Thank god Wikipedia was there for me when, after all these years I spent not-remembering anything about the KA24DE, I needed to have some facts ready to debate a stranger online about what cars should theoretically be in a video game... Smarminess aside, I've been wrenching on cars for going on 30 years now... I'm not young, but I've also been surrounded by, and a part of, all walks of automotive culture for my entire life, and in the "import" scene since its beginning. Many of the people on this site have extensive automotive knowledge and experience as well, so I don't think assumption is going to be a good tactic in most cases.

My opinions are just that, and they were never stated as anything different. But I think if you put the opinion that there are hundreds of worthy, viable, interesting vehicles that can be added to the game against the opinion of "we need more niche versions of the most plentiful car in the game" it's gonna be decidedly one-sided.

But hey, that's just my opinion.

OMG! I can’t believe that this game that I bought almost two years ago is still giving me free updates! That’s not what I wanted!!! /s

I do not understand complaining over something that is free. I would be pissed if I paid for some dlc pass and this is what I’m getting, but c’mon….its free!

if you don’t like the free updates then just don’t play the game. 🤷‍♂️

If you have so much experience with the KA engines, you should know that the "truck motor that never belonged in a S-chassis" line in a bunch of ********.

Wow. You're so devoted. It's almost admirable.

When the option of the SR20 is on the table, DE or DET, the KA doesn't make much sense in a performance oriented sports coupe. I don't know why the US got it and no-one else did (probably something to do with federal law and emissions), but we got it as a consolation (not constellation, lol) prize. And I never said it was a bad motor. I think the fact that we ended up deciding to put on in the 510 attests to that... And it worked great, but would it have been better with a lighter, higher-strung, higher-revving SR20? YUP.

He wanted simple, reliable and accessible motor to put in the Datsun and that's what we did. I did the same thing with my RX7 by putting an LS into it. It's a great motor, but would I rather have a light-high revving rotary in it? YUP. Unfortunately they just aren't reliable enough, and after going through three of them, it got the LS. Now it starts and runs perfectly every time the key is turned, even though the LS saps some of the character of the car.

This all still has nothing to do with the point that you're missing, and you continuing to confuse my opinions with fact. I think my opinion is the right one, it's my opinion, but that in no way makes it fact. The KA is a fine motor, but for GT7 having a US spec S-chassis car would be exactly like the ones we have in game with less power, more weight over the nose, and the steering wheel on the left side.

I disagree with your opinion to add it to the game, and it's fine to leave it at that.

Pix fer clix... can't find any better pic of the engine bay/build at the moment.

if only these esports jokers would just stop this whining and leave the series, we had gt sport for you people already! now we are back to the real gran turismo and the focus is no more on cookie cutter racecars but on real road cars, and mr. Kazunori-san is a leader of the industry with the VGT project!
it truly is incredible the work, blood, sweat and tears that go into gran turismo and these esports people only cry on twitter, 0 respect for the man who slept under a desk for months in japan to create gran turismo in the first place! i really cannot believe after spec ii we have to deal with these crying babies again, do they not realize that gran turismo was never ACC!
aye Kazunori-san thank you very much for the update, don't let the haters drag you down, we real gran turismo fans are grateful for everything you do!

even if all esport players were to complain , they arent going to stop playing - especially Gallo when he once tried that , then almost instantly went back to the game

also comparing old game update to the new one is like apple and oranges - things were different in that game industry

Not gonna lie, I wasn't interested in the VGTs anyway, but being met with this little content and this method of delivery for one of them, especially after three months of nothing, is quite funny in that "this is such a shame I can't help but laugh" kind of way.

The engine swaps that are coming should hopefully be a small silver lining in a rather dry update.
Yeah I'd like to see a GT3 refresh of at least another couple of cars. I balked at the idea and reading, I think it was Director Kazunori San, saying that manufacturers don't know what their plans are 8yrs out for their cars for GT3 homologation so it's hard to plan for. Yet ACC keeps putting in 2023s left and right.

I've said it in my streams: just admit Sony's being cheap and won't give you the money for licensing and the labor/tech to scan them. 8yrs my eyeball.

If we could get another 3 hypercars to go with the GR010 as the Rolex 24 happens this weekend would probably have me faint and die of happiness.

Now that's interesting, engine swap for the Alphard, 2JZ?

Wish I could put a Super Formula engine into the Alphard.

Then we would have a Japanese version of the Espace F1

Biggest difference with ACC: they got official GTWC licence and they don't scan those cars , they build them from scratch instead thats faster than any scan - there arent many games that scan cars because it requires alot of work to make it into a game model thus much slower

I wouldn't mind the Shuichi Shigeno engine for the Levin.
The 1.3L from the GR Yaris and Corolla would be a thought. I'd rather a high revving NA engine though.
