It's being added in this update (for a small group of rich watch collectors)

It's being added in February for everyone else.

Except that it will be added to Brand Central in an update in February.
No. It will become unlocked in February (and it's not clear that this even requires an update - the Ferrari Vision GT's timed unlock didn't).

The actual vehicle will be part of tomorrow's update and no other.

VGT is marketing initiative to get more kids into gran turismo to see wow cool cars very fast I am of belief kazunori has hands tied behin his back this is sony doing to change gran turismo like grand valley destruction and hagerty cancer this was not kaz idea it was the jim ryan that call old gran turismo games ancient **** but kazunori will still do his best despite pressure from higher up, so we must be satisfied now because it could be worse, kazunori will for sure add cars community wants next update this one is write off from sony, he is trying to get more autonomy and give us gran turismo we deserve
Am I having a stroke or are you?

The quote below prompted me to make what may be my last response on the subject of this update.

I've been on this and other Gran Turismo forums since at least Gran Turismo 4. I remember when people complained about how crowded/buggy/disappointing the free servers were.

Nobody complains about that anymore . . . because there are no longer free servers.

Apply this to the free updates.
If asking me, better nothing then this.
Disaster of update, very disappointed.

When this continues, see what you get.

When there are no more free updates, keep this same energy.

My apologies. I'll get back in my box, take my Geritol and watch The Andy Griffith Show now.

I can't wait to see subscription coming to GT8. For a low fee of $50 a month, you'll get to look at boring update every other month!!!
Given how many complaints about free updates . . . could you blame them? I mean, if they're gonna get flamed, they may as well get an extra fiver for it.

My apologies. I'll get back in my box, take my Geritol and watch The Andy Griffith Show now.
It’ll happen again next update. However, next time:

”Yay! We finally got the Toyota GT-One! Been waiting for this car all my life! Wait, why is it in Gr.2?:crazy:

(drum roll for the seven pages and ten threads of arguments about its performance numbers, videos and Google experts to around-the-loop explain why PD placed it there)
response to explanation: “Well, that’s plain dumb.”

(switch to complaining about the other cars in the update, no matter what they are)
”No one asked for those.“ “It’s a useless car.” “PD continue to drip feed content(always forgetting they posted the same comment for the past 22 months).”

Add, let’s say, eight members still guessing the wrong car, after the GTPlanet update article.
Add about three nonsensical threads that moderators will lock.
Add thirty new accounts to complain about the game.
Add myself posting another post like this.

You win all of the remaining internets for the day. I needed this before I hop off!

(Now where's the combo Laugh/Hot emoji?)

Edit: This is as close as I can get.

@Famine hi :)

BVLGARI Aluminum Vision Gran Turismo
*Can be purchased in Brand Central from end of February

Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept

The designers have achieved a drag coefficient of 0.34 by integrating aerodynamic aids and orchestrating internal and laminar flows. The X Gran Berlinetta Concept is powered by a front mid-mounted Lambda II V6 engine, electrically assisted by Genesis E-SC technology. The hybrid race-spec drivetrain delivers a total of 1,071 HP (1,071 BHP) 986 ft-lb (136.3 kgfm) of torque, ensuring that this car is as powerful as it is beautiful. The V6 screams at 10,000 rpm while delivering a maximum output of 870 HP (870 BHP) and 790 ft-lb (109.2 kgfm) while the Yasa E motor generates an additional 201 HP (201 BHP) 196 ft-lb (27 kgfm).

Suzuki Jimny XC ’18

The Jimny is a cross-country style 4WD model that has been produced by Suzuki since 1970. While there have been variants in each generation that crossed over into the compact car class, the mainstay of the series is the ‘kei’ model. The series has continued to develop over the years with a 2nd generation model introduced in 1981, the 3rd generation introduced in 1998 and the 4th generation in 2018.

What are the chances the Jimny ends up being the Nations Cup vehicle for this weekend? I don't care either way, but I know people will likely riot.

While I personally like that road cars get a lot of attention, I absolutely get why the Sport Mode/race car-focused segment of the fanbase would be aggrieved at this point. The last time we got any sort of race car was the AMG and Super Formulas all the way back in April last year.

That's quite a big gap when race cars in Sport Mode is a thing that drives a lot of participation in your game.
The worst part, is that even as road cars go, they barely grasp what players want. Certain brands remain untouched since launch, and quite a few of the "road cars" added, have been meme cars or duplicates.

When it comes to race cars, even without Sport mode, there's still a need for them. In the very least, if PD bothers to model one car of a specific racing class, then they should add more cars from that class to the game. The Audi RS5 DTM sitting alone in the game makes no sense.

What makes it worse than not adding the cars people asked for, is that we had some great gems in GT6 as Premiums, and they didn't even bother updating those to the level of GT7.

The worst part, is that even as road cars go, they barely grasp what players want.
This is the core issue (not with this particular update, which is disappointing for most people, but in general with updates): There isn't a set of cars that "people want", because there's so many different groups of people playing the game who want different things from it. For every person who wants all the new GT3 cars, there's a different person who want classic GT1s, and there's a different person who wants all the BMW Ms, and there's a different person who wants all the Skylines back, and there's a different person who loves the meme cars and wants more of them. And so on and so forth.

The community is not a hivemind who want certain specific cars, and I have no idea how PD can cater to all the different groups of the playerbase.

You have the S13, S14 and S15s in game, and the S13 is available with the CA18 and SR20 in Ks, Qs and other variants. You also have engine swaps for all of them and the ability to tune it to whatever power level you want. The KA was an over-square truck motor that only went into the S-chassis to fit US regulations. It was never intended for it, and while it's a fine motor, it's not the one people want.
Wow, someone read an article about the KA24 and claims to know all about it. Bravo.
There are thousands of cars that could be added to the game that are wholly original to it, and aren't derivative of cars that already exist in game. You not only got your cake and ate it, you're licking the frosting container and complaining that it's not enough.
Damn straight. I also know that the effort to add these other variants is a slight fraction of the effort required for a brand new car.
I want wholly new cars in the game, not carbon copies of cars we already have that only a rare few would appreciate the minute differences of (R32 GTR vs R32 Nismo anyone?). How 'bout an Audi RS3, RS6 or recent generation R8? The Hyundai Elantra/Kona/i30 N, or even the ionic 5N? The new WRX, new Integra (though it is mechanically similar to the CTR, it's still a completely unique car), Ariel Atom/Nomad, Ferrari 296.... I mean, I could go on all day. There are so many worthy options that have no relation to cars we already have access to.
An older RS6 would be nice, but yeah I couldn't care less about any of the other cars you listed. That's the beauty of opinions, everyone is entitled to them and none are more valid than others (in this context, at least).
We don't need niche specific versions of cars that already exist ad-nauseum, we need new experiences. I'm not a huge fan of VGTs, but I'll take a whole bunch of them over a version of an existing car that is literally no different than the ones before it.
See, there you go stating your opinion as fact again. It's not, sorry.

Wait so it's a two car update with no track unless you buy a $5000 watch lmao
Buying the $5,000 watch won't give you a new track either, but it will get you up to four weeks early access to one of February's cars.

Wow! This is the best purchasing incentive ever, where's my (AU)$7,500? I'd better order it right away so the code arrives before the commoners can access the car. :dopey: /sarc

I wonder if Hagerty will insure the watch as well

To add to this, PD could've softened this woeful update by duplicating five cars in the car list and putting custom tunes on them like bumping the 2022 MX-5 up to 200hp then suddenly you have a club racing spec car that's way more suitable for online racing.

Or even do the same for the Jimny - add the flares and wider track, then you have something way more suitable for racing than what they actually gave us.

Then PD get to gloat about the car list, and players actually get more meaningful variety in the cars available.

As a long-term member of the entire community (dating back to GTF), no I'm not asking for new GT4, GT3, or LMDH cars. More historics, yes, but then whenever these get added the Facebookerati go nuts and call them "slow boring old cars" - and of course many end up barely attainable in Legends Cars.

So clearly the entire community isn't asking for either of those things.

Definitely new tracks though, but again it seems like people can barely agree on what new tracks. They certainly didn't like the last two, generally speaking.

The Bulgari is being added in this update, not in February. Players who have access to the QR code from the watch will be able to drive it right away (after redeeming the ticket), while everyone else can buy it from Brand Central next month.

It has no consequence or meaning for any update in February.
We don’t need new tracks. We need the game to fully utilise the already existing tracks. More Sophy races would have made sense, following up on the Spec II marketing talk. Use all those existing track layouts for additional events (I think something around 30% of the track layouts are never used anywhere), use day/night and and weather for more interesting events. It’s all in there already, it just needs to be used.
And yes, more classic cars, vintage cars, race cars - whatever. But also make them meaningful in the game. Not just add random cars that have little or no connection to already existing cars in the game. A new Jimny event with three races full of Jimnys? Instead, add some kind of Jeep/pick-up truck that can compete with already existing vehicles in the game for more variation.
And yes, adding a Bulgari car that only owners of whatever Bulgari watch can claim and drive immediately is the most boring marketing stunt I’ve seen in a racing game for a minute. 🤷‍♂️

I think that special Supra GT500 livery for that social antisocial.com buying site, beat that.
