While I personally like that road cars get a lot of attention, I absolutely get why the Sport Mode/race car-focused segment of the fanbase would be aggrieved at this point. The last time we got any sort of race car was the AMG and Super Formulas all the way back in April last year.

That's quite a big gap when race cars in Sport Mode is a thing that drives a lot of participation in your game.

The Jimny is a fun addition, I also like that they have added race events specifically for the cars being added to the game. But 2 cars and 5 races after nearly 3 months of waiting feels absurdly meagre, especially as the weekly events don't even seem to have a unique race half the time (how hard would it be to make up 5 unique races per week to keep players engaged away from content updates?).

Otherwise, a very disappointing update on the face of it. It almost seems as though Sony and PD have looked at the impact on Spec II and the significant increase in active players that it bought and decided to do absolutely nothing to continue this.

I really struggle to find reasons to pick up my PS5 controller and play GT7 these days, which is a shame as there remains the building blocks for an excellent racing game there.

Abysmal update.

The Mazda3 not a race car?

I honestly believe PD watched how people role play and provided the ambulance to aid in such play.

All the safety cars can be utilised. The F-150 and Tundra can be scrambled as tow vehicles(with heavy damage enabled, just have the damaged car follow the “tow vehicle”, slowly, back to the pits).
If players have enough friends or a call out for players interested in such role play, all cars can be utilised.

Those of us that play solo, definitely need some type of SOPHY Friendvatar. Hoping to that tandem driving mode, seen in the Spec 2 video. I liked that feature in Forza Horizon 3. Beep the horn and a train of cars follow you through traffic.

Entire community = Me and a shard of the playerbase
is there a reason you didn't quote the post where someone said "entire community"?

aside from that phrase not appearing on the last three seven pages (at least) of the thread of course.

(this is rhetorical, don't make up strawmen to get angry at and you'll probably be angry less often)

Imo, the worst update so far. Jimny is fine, but concept cars suck, and it's only 3 cars after almost three months of nothing... I didn't expect them to slow down with updates less than two years after the release date, that's very disappointing.

Your point still stands. One race car in 9 months or so is pretty disappointing.
or we could make a different point that makes it look even worse, the only car they released is the mazda 3 GR.4 and it has needed a rebalance since day 1 and its been months of it being the only viable GR.4 car in dailies due to imbalance

That the Bulgari arrives in February will mean that we will have another update in a month with the possibility of adding more content or will only the Bulgari arrive?

As a long-term member of the entire community (dating back to GTF), no I'm not asking for new GT4, GT3, or LMDH cars. More historics, yes, but then whenever these get added the Facebookerati go nuts and call them "slow boring old cars" - and of course many end up barely attainable in Legends Cars.

So clearly the entire community isn't asking for either of those things.

Definitely new tracks though, but again it seems like people can barely agree on what new tracks. They certainly didn't like the last two, generally speaking.

The Bulgari is being added in this update, not in February. Players who have access to the QR code from the watch will be able to drive it right away (after redeeming the ticket), while everyone else can buy it from Brand Central next month.

It has no consequence or meaning for any update in February.

I had no idea one of the new cars was locked out until Feb unless you bought an overpriced watch. That's.. incredibly disappointing. Makes this update even more wanting than it already is. I wish we could just get some news on GT8 so I'd at least have something to look forward to as my desire to keep returning to GT7 is really starting wane at this point.

I honestly don't care what they do with stuff like the Bulgari VGT because advertising partnerships fund the game. Just don't have that advertising partnership be a third of the update content if it's going to be so weird and restrictive.

Its not good for the game, and even more importantly for the money-men at PD and Bulgari, its not good advertising.

It's being added in this update (for a small group of rich watch collectors)

It's being added in February for everyone else.

Except that it will be added to Brand Central in an update in February.

So in February there will be an update and maybe something else will be added?

While I wasn’t exactly sitting here with fingers crossed hoping for the Jimny, I’m actually looking forward to it and also a bit, the Genesis. I don’t have high expectations for either, but I am looking forward to trying out both and seeing what all mods are available for the Jimny and how it performs off-road more specifically.

Past event details have always been fully withheld in these scenarios, whether it's been for a soon to be released car, track, or both. Expecting it to be another track the update immediately following Spec II is kinda on you, really.
Sure. It was just a little of that and a lot of....remind me the last time we got a new (asphalt) race track? Honestly I lost count.

VGT is marketing initiative to get more kids into gran turismo to see wow cool cars very fast I am of belief kazunori has hands tied behin his back this is sony doing to change gran turismo like grand valley destruction and hagerty cancer this was not kaz idea it was the jim ryan that call old gran turismo games ancient **** but kazunori will still do his best despite pressure from higher up, so we must be satisfied now because it could be worse, kazunori will for sure add cars community wants next update this one is write off from sony, he is trying to get more autonomy and give us gran turismo we deserve

Kazunori is old school man look he cares a lot about great cars and sometimes sony will put their dirty hands and add an afeela EV that everyone hates but then another time kaz will announce the escudo and maybe one day GT-one toyota cars all gt fans love the love is still there he is could be in an internal conflict with modern gaming industry
